We are currently thinking of random jumpscares (Like the ones in 5 Nights at Freddies) appearing in games for clients we know have torrented 100%.

Why would I help someone that wants to harm my fellow Yea Forumsrazilians?

Don't release games on PC.

Yea Forumsrazil?

I have an idea, you could make so all the female characters in the game are naked and have giant dicks, they would be able to play the game like that hahaha

Change all the dialogue and words to gibberish

This but with sla/v/s

nowadays every limp dicked faggot call themselves devs and programmers, it lost any value. I bet you are just another steam shovelware generator with a superiority complex

This.
Greetings from Cisplatina.

This desu, we got 80k funding from indiegogo and about to release but our marketting guy told us sales are gonna be low because everyone who will buy it has already bought it through early access, so we need a strong antipiracy measure or we will go bankrupt. So we delayed the release to figure out some antipiracy measures.

Just halve all the drop rates or something. Make it frustrating and unnoticeable, but the kind of thing that identifies pirates when they whine about it and acts as a freebie defense so nobody can ever criticize the drop rates without being accused of being a filthy poorfag.

noone give a fuck about indie games, half of steam library still doesnt have torrents because lack of interest. You dont need to worry about pirates in my opinion, if you put anything into your game, it will be removed quite fast. AAA games get cracked in days, what hope do you have?
also can you post the game you guys worked on for seeing what kind of caliber I am talking with?

>can you guys recommend me some methods?
make a game worth buying

>literally getting jewed by the suits, just like the companies
>bro buy our anti piracy, totally legit and works
>cracked in 2 days
literal retardation

>we need a strong antipiracy measure or we will go bankrupt
You’re finance guy is talking out of his ass. Regardless, you’ll get more sales just from the publicity you’ll get for putting jumpscares in pirated versions, but that won’t stop people from circumventing it if they really want to.

Can't since I can get sued talking about this.
It's just a small game made by 3 friends + Sales PM guy. (Got some media coverage last year)

Force them to play on easy mode

When the get to certain point in the game you empty their inventory and replace it with 99 apples. Apples that inflict poison damage when they eat them.

Depends on what methods you're using to tell if they pirated or not

you get sued for showing the indigogo campagain that already was public. Are you for real amigo? drop me a link to that media coverage then, I can work myself around with that too

release yourself a cracked version and make it full of viruses so even if they make a safe one people will get scared of downloading it

No, for the contents of some of the posts I've made here (regarding product delay). Not willing to take risks and is not relevant, sorry.

We will probably go about adding in ridiculous microtransactions for priated versions to progress the story or something

Can't go wrong with randomly deleted saves.

Something along these lines is pretty good

The important thing is to make it really obvious. Be as obnoxious as you like, trying to be subtle will just annoy the hell out of people using the pirated copy as a demo, confusing your bullshit for poor game design and will cost sales.

Best one is to make a damn good fucking game

well its hard to give good ideas when people shooting in the dark. Still, you do you I guess. I still think you shouldnt even bother with pirates, since they are not your threat. BUTT you could make something really retarded and maybe some news media pick it up in a boring day. Low gravity, shrinking exit doors, enemies going technicolor are 3 thing i just came up with which might be nice

Just put "Thank you for playing! If you enjoyed the game, please consider buying it!" at the end of the credits and price your game in the 10-15$ mark.

malice won't stop piracy. only delay it. better off recognizing any anti-piracy features will probably be disabled anyway after a week max and being nice to poorfags.

beamNG did this. i downloaded it to see if i could run it and got a faggoty little "AHOY MATEY! We see you're using an unofficial copy, thanks for playing out game! if you like it consider supporting us!"

I was honest to god going to buy it before I saw that but I'm not supporting redditmarketing

Make a version that nukes the save file after they passed the 80% completion mark.

ウマデリシアです

3 second unskippable nag screen after every loading screen that says “thanks for your interest! Please consider purchasing [game]”

Not so long as to make the game unenjoyable when pirated but enough to be a nuisance and maybe guilt trip some people.

this is the best. even better if the game appears legit but it doesn't kick in until many hours into the game.

I pirated Hitman 2 Silent Assassin back around its release. I was a few levels into the game and then a mission critical item I needed was nowhere to be found. Was never sure if it was a glitch, but I thought it was kind of funny if it was an intentional roadblock set up by devs.

isn't your game pretty much an anti-piracy measure itself? y'know, being a shit game and all.

Detect piracy, but have it act like one of the spyro games, where you randonly lose key items that let you progress and so you have to do sone bullshit quests over again.

Fuck off faggot people can crack it anyways

how about making a good game first
then we can talk about it if its worth pirating or not

Attached: 7ab.jpg (680x744, 42K)

Just cut to a list of spoilers and then the credits about 10% of the way through

just go to iggames and tell them to wait for a week, might work fuck if i know
if you are making some deep indie shit theyll be the only ones posting your game on release
that might hurt your sales tho
at best youll get something like 3-5% of buyers back and at worst lose about as much
if you want to do it for pr at least give us a genre or setting

This sounds like a good idea, pull a lostboy on the pirates. That or release dolphin porn, maybe even both.

here's some lad
>tutorial endlessly repeats itself.
>cannot save
>stuck on a level eternally. Everytime you reach the exit it takes you back to the beginning with enemies but seems like the level keeps on going
>unable to acquire currency of any kind
>cannot regenerate health at all
>as soon as tutorial ends, cutscene of the hero deciding to become a pirate and abandons his journey, making the villain win
>game pauses every X amount of seconds and have to manually unpause
>unfair enemy spawns
>jump button doesn't work

kissing up to pirates is pathetic cuckoldry. Just make a good game and hope you land an Epic exclusive deal.

Thanks fren

Change the the ending to the game to a rickroll.

Multiplayer game without dedicated servers
Mobile games with microtransactions

You're not an actual dev but these threads are amusing sometimes.

Loading gives me an idea: the farther a player gets into the game, the higher the loading times are exponentially raised.

What is this thumbnail shit you saved

Attached: pirate chad.png (2518x1024, 276K)

you are incentivizing piracy with exclusive features, brainlet

>implying people will care enough to pirate it

So in other words you're just making shit up. Let's ignore the faggot that is OP and have a thread about amusing "anti-piracy" measures. Personally I think there should just be a small change in the pirated version like Alan Wake. Any real attempts like deleting save files will just make the pirate mad and it'll get patched out anyway once it's discovered. Personally I want to include a pirate costume that's unlocked and equipped by default (that you can get later in the game normally) and a special splash screen that says "this is the official pirate version, if you like it support the release" yadda yadda.

lol I remember you from the last piracy thread

>game dev adding pirate-only features
based
imagine being a buycuck

make a game worth buying and people will buy it

the game bricks computers who pirated it

the pirated game starts sending CP to the computer and calls the fbi

Absolutely 100% Jesus

>the pirated game starts sending CP to the computer and calls the fbi
By far the most morally correct action.

I guarantee you the game's going to be shit. Has there ever been a game made from Yea Forums that wasn't shit? Katawa Shoujo was made by Yea Forums, not Yea Forums.

Based

unironically the best and only effective anti-piracy measures are to make a game people actually want to support and to guilt trip them with a message like "thank you for supporting our fledgling team" at the start or end of the game

any other kind of anti piracy can and will be cracked, and pretty fast too. It's a waste of time and resources and probably encourages further piracy because of spiteful assholes knowing that they can upset you by getting past your clever tricks.

i'm pretty sure that's illegal friendo
>just like piracy :^)
yeah no that's on a completely different level
