I think there's something about being a manchild that causes people to develop mental schisms.
The whole thing was, he wasn't pretending. He was actually that genuinely excited and would act that retarded over Nintendo games. But he was always an honest person with his fanbase. I think the dichotomy of being a grown man with a high income revenue stream mostly from playing games made for children and teens eventually just caused him to go mad with power. It would be like if Chris-chan was some alpha male with several women surrounding him and a steady cash flow: eventually the autism overwhelmed Etika and he became a dark shadow of his former self.
