a lot of the young people here need therapy because while it doesnt really fuck your sleep if you keep a simulated environment(during summer we close the windows around 8pm to ignore the light, and turn on the lights at 6-7 am to 6pm to ignore the dark), it does fuck up your sanity to not see real sunlight or real night dark for prolonged periods of time.
It's an effect you only feel after living here for years, and without therapy it disrupts your sense of time if you dont have a very active life, which it's hard to have in a place with less than 1000 people.
Once you're old enough to get a job, you better get one and make it so your day is evenly divided between things to do and work time, cause without a job you'll have too much time to waste doing nothing.
Long story short, without the light/dark cycle doing it for you, you have to "manually" make it so you sense the passage of time or you go insane, and it becomes quite stressful at first and takes time to make it "normal"

my post might have sounded like a critique of the life here, but it was only a reply to why it's not comfy to have daytime all summer and nighttime all winter.
