Could someone explain why everyone hates Epic Games Store so much?
At first i figured it was due to the non-physical thing, but then people seem to prefer steam which also generally only has non-physical copies.
Then people started talking about China, but Steam is also owned in majority by two Chinese companies.

I played 1, 2 and prequel. The graphics (lack thereof, rather) angered me. Also the writing was vomit-inducing.

Still though, I actually do really like the Diablo style approach to FPS. I just wish more things could have been done to make it more palatable on the design side of things.

Zane's got a pretty funky skiill tree based around "killing an enemy..." skills that could be good (and lets you trigger them with your action skill so it's not shit for bosses). The turtle specs for both are pretty extreme; makes me worry it's going to be even worse than TPS or early B1 for making most builds rely heavily on FFYL to stay alive

So we're going to have more characters giving lectures and going to pains to show how 'woke' they are then. TPS was such a step up in writing. Funny, charming and managed to do all the diversity stuff naturally.

Hyped about the multiple action skills. There are a bunch of characters I've never played because I hate their action skills, now you get a choice.

Not sure how it'll work on multiple playthroughs though, if you're only using a single action skill (except for classes that let you use multiple ones) there's going to be a bunch of wasted skill points.

What exactly about the game looks fun? Trailers have a way of making games look a lot more exciting than they really are. I expect the exact same boring, stale, repetitive gameplay from the previous Borderlands games.

Balance in Borderlands has always been irrelevant, you progress to harder enemies fast enough that any given weapon is useless after 5 levels anyway, forcing you to use something else. You may disagree but it allows for some really fun weapon types and abilities because they don't have to worry about it doing too much damage.

Mechromancer was gimmicky but fun and Gunzerker was on a level of its own.

I think it needs a middle ground. In the higher difficulties (endgame TVHM/early UVHM) your gear gets outclassed WAY too quickly and it feels awful for the people that worked really hard to get that specific drop for it to be outclassed by trash within a level or two. I also don't think you should be able to use the same SMG with certain prefixes for well over 15 levels.

Fair enough, but i think people make too big a deal about balance in a game like this, especially when there is no pvp aspect, its supposed to be fun, not meticulously balanced and every build perfectly viable.

What's the point in having bazillions of guns if they're all completely interchangeable?
The rarity system in Borderlands 1 was an indicator of how good a gun would be. White guns were disposable garbage you'd never want to actually use unless you had no other options, green and blue guns would last you a little longer than that and were what you'd primarily be using over the course of the playthrough, and purple and orange guns were a cut above the rest, if you got one you knew you'd be getting your mileage out of it.
In Borderlands 2 though, gun rarity may as well be a hidden statistic because while there is a difference in power between whites and purples, the scaling is so batshit insane that every gun in the game drops off in usefulness after pretty much the exact same amount of levels. The only exception being some legendary guns. The truly baffling thing about this is the fact that in BL2 anything higher than green rarity is insanely rare anyway. Purples are significantly more rare than they were in Borderlands 1 but their usefulness hasn't changed to match that rarity, in fact that opposite occurred and they became less useful than they were in the first game.

Dont really disagree with much you said here, but i think most of that ends up having very little consequence besides forcing you to look at most of the loot you find before canning it. Because most everything can be useful in some way depending on your class
