>upgrade pc
>still only play old games because everything new is shit
Anyone relate?
oh my god you're such a cool hipster oldfag
What genres do you like?
Change your taste, and I'm not saying play the zoomer shit, but rather play other genres you've never explored. Some genres are still outside the zoomer field of scope.
Quake 3
>build a new pc
>just keep browsing Yea Forums and fapping like I used to do on my old toaster
Minecraft
bleach is a manga
Nobody told you? Nobody actually plays the games on their PC. They just start them, tweak all the settings to make it look good, and then never touch it again.
I tend to really like story driven stuff, I decided to give the new Metro a go and while it looks really nice, I got to about the part where you're sneaking around on the train with the explosive and there was all this screaming in russian and I had to turn it off.
Stop
Just like I did, spent like 3k on a new pc to play free roguelikes and indies
morrowind with graphical mods
touhou
oblivion
skyrim
fallout series
the elder scrolls online
fallout 76
elder scrolls blades with android emulator
>stock intel fan
ohnonononono
did anyone else fall for the rtx meme
That intel box cooler
that isn't my PC actually, just a picture I found as a placeholder.
>blue leds
Fuck off zoomer.
played Bioshock remasted on ultra with like 300fps. Eh, it's not bad
but that has nothing to do with rtx and you probably could have gotten the exact same results on a 1660
Yeah, but only because it was more cost-effective for my build. So far it's been treating me very good so I wouldn't call it a meme just yet.
true, though the card I got was only 350USD so at least it's semi-future proof.
>GeForce Experience
Cookie Clicker
Old school Runescape
Dwarf Fortress
I tried to go to the website to download the drivers but it said It was incompatible or whatever the fuck so I just got the Geforce shit. It's just for easy updates, stop acting like I actually use it outside of that.

How did you learn how to build a pc?
For some reason whenever I try to learn how to go about doing it, the person teaching me is just trying to rob me or an elitist asshole.
Heroes of might and magic 3
Pretty nice looking there senpai. looks clean.
>upgrade PC because I cannot stand fps drops and stutters
>games still stutter, if less severely
Maybe should just start getting into plants and gardening like I've been meaning to.
Research though TY and other mediums, Using PCpartpicker to find affordable parts and making sure they all work together and then just jumping into it with a tutorial.
I was honestly terrified of doing it which is why I put it off for so long but honestly it isn't hard if you have the information and patience. As for people helping, yeah, some people are like that but if you can find someone who's savvy and not up their own ass, it goes a long way.
What's your setup?
Just look up build guide on youtube. Literally hundreds of them out there. It's also piss easy. Use PCparts picker to build everything. It'll make sure everything works together and it compares prices for you.
Dark Souls 3
So I can have more people to play with besides my former coworker (who's hardly ever on)
Best thing to do is build an extremely cheap PC to practice on. That's what I did recently. I hadn't build a PC in over a decade and asked /g/ for a PC around $150-$200 to fick around on. Then I was ready to build my $3K PC.
It's now a mobile game tho
>tfw too scared to build PC because my apartment is carpeted
Witcher 3, souls, Deus Ex HR + MD, RoR2, probably others
i5 6600
1060 6gb
16gb ddr4 2400
samsung 970 evo m2 ssd
I play at 1080p
The upgrade was like 2 years ago.
built mine on a carpet wearing cotton sweats and wool socks my dude. Most new hardware protects against that sort of thing but also, just touch your case before really getting in there and you'll be fine.If you're super terrified, just buy a anti-static band and clip it to the side panel of your case or some other metal thing.
>build an extremely cheap PC to practice on
This is the most ass hatted retarded thing I've heard on Yea Forums. A cheap PC builds EXACTLY the same as an expensive one. How the living fuck? I am actually dumbfounded. You must be trolling.
>1060
That's probably your problem.
>mentions /g/
what do you think
Buy a static wrist strap if you're so scared.
Not him, but that's exactly the point. He didn't want to spend all the money and not know what he was doing so he build a cheap shit for 200$ so that when he gets all of his expensive shit he'll know exactly what to do with no hiccups.
also not every case is the same, not ever board is the same. Yeah sometimes it is too small to really matter but some things make a difference.
>intlel
>4cores
Get ryzen brah
Not OP, but I learned from videos and articles online. All the bits you use will come with instructions too.
Honestly, the hardest part is choosing parts. Try to stand firm with your budget. Start with logical increments, then move to pc part picker. Don't make a decision based purely on brand, research all the pieces, look for people's similar builds, make sure shit will actually work together. Don't get memed into buying parts that are expensive and powerful but don't actually add anything for you.
>2GB RTX 2060
wot
I really need to invest in a controller. Lotta games I want to play work better on it like Yakuza or Dragons Dogma
Half of /g/ is retards the other half is trolls so it's 50/50.
Just wathc a fucking youtube video. It's fucking free to do so. It's literally legos. THere's literally multiple websites that check to make sure your parts are compatible. Don't care how you try to justify it but buying a "practice build" pc is retarded.
I don't think it's a ludicrous idea for someone too afraid to fuck around with quadruple digit priced parts.
>It's literally legos
not this shit again..
idk why it says that, it's 6gb. and the processor is 8600k and doesn't show that or its temp
probably because i havent updated speccy in years
>Just wathc a fucking youtube video
And what if someone follows a bad video? They exist too.
It is. Just because he didn't have problems with his $200 build doesn't mean he won't have any with a $1000/$2000 build, baka
Play the new Anno. Also play some of the older ones.
It's like Speccy is retarded or something..
GTFO Epic Shill
what the fuck am I reading
Get a PS4.
>not playing old games at 144-250 fps
look at this faggot
Look at the filename, kunt. That's the Steam version. You can also get the game directly through uplay which cuts epic out of the picture completely.
But it gives a dummy a better chance at not fucking up the expensive build. We're talking dumb here, like this level
Computer parts aren't as easy to destroy as people seem to make out. That said, if you're really squeamish about the actual building part, there are stores that'll put your shit together for little to no fee if you buy your shit from them.
bait
Then he's an idiot for just watching one video.
It's year and a half old but still decent
What? It's true. I've assembled office chairs far more complicated than any PC I've built.
CS 1.6, rats or surf map, up to you.
Nice. Liquid cooling is a meme I'll never fall for though.
>respectable wire management
You are one of the good ones. LEDs are gay but that's subjective.
>does everything possible to make his pc look gayer
>still using a stock cooler
>1 (one) memory stick
zoomers baka desu senpai
It's a meme but I fell in love with the kraken infinity mirror and the clean look
Literally just rest your arm on any part of the case and you're good. Also if you're that worried stand on a plastic carpet protection mat (that you should have in the first place as it's a must for all carpeted battlestations). Modern PC parts are nowhere near as sensitive as they used to be decades ago.
congrats. get resident evil 2, devil may cry 5, sekiro, dragon ball fighterz, soulcalibur 6
Skyrim with a gazillion texture mods and the most resource intensive ENB you can find.
Oh my god you're so cool. You're like.. THE MODEL Yea Forums guy. Man you must be SO Yea Forums. So fucking cool. I bet you use meems in real life, fucking A-MAZ-ING~ I bet you think traps and shit aren't gay too! Wow SO fucking Yea Forums FUCK you're literally radiating le angry contrarian man... wow!
It's a meme to me because I had a leak a few years back after using the same cooler for 3+ years. It was just completely random. It made me go back to air cooling. Also gotta agree with about the cable management.
I have one already.
What are some good tips for cleaning PC? Built my PC last November and it's getting dusty in there. I could take to a shop to clean, but I'd rather do it myself.
How are modern people this incompetent? They're still human, right?
This.
And if we do play games it ones that feel most like work.
ask your mom for her hair dryer
you can also blow the dust with your mouth (careful to not spit on your motherboard)
Deus Ex
This is like bare minimum
What caused the leak?
You cut the o-rings when putting the tubing into the fittings or something?
Just get a can of air. The dangers of dust are very overblown. I built my friend an i5/1060 build over 2 years ago which he's never once cleaned it, and it's still going.
my mom is no
Best thing is just to do it. Don't waste 200 bucks for nothing. Just double check every time you press a part down. And don't build it on a carpet like I did.
saints row 4
Nope. It just started dripping randomly.
>And don't build it on a carpet like I did.
You can build on a carpet. Just keep grounded. You forgot to ground yourself didn't you?
I literally just use my vacuum cleaner, it's worked great so far
i still try new games, but mostly yeah i just end up playing the same older PC games and emulating shit
I didn't damage any parts but still, just an unnecessary risk.
How would you ground yourself though? Not asking for me, just in case there's a retard around.
Which one should I get for building my first time?
hmmm... my finger points
>want to upgrade PC
>new games just aren't good enough to justify the investment
>keep using old toaster
WHAT MONITOR IS THAT
Yeah. Upgraded from a lap top to an expensive pc. Only new game I've finished on it is prey.
I very rarely play vidya on it and when I do it's an old fps, like doom or quake.
Just an overpriced Yea Forums machine
Nice job OP. Looks like a clean build with no wires. Proud of you.
Depends on the build. My old PC spent 6 years without cleaning and it never had an issue. When I upgraded, I had to clean it up every three months or it would overheat and turn itself off when gaming, and eventually when doing any activity (even opening more than one tab at once would heat it up). I have since got more and better fans, bought a larger case to improve airflow, but the only result is that I have to clean it every six months instead of three.
Which parts are getting hot? Sounds suspicious, and like you've done something wrong you're not aware of.
The mobo. The system shuts itself off when it hits 84C (this exact value).
None, you only need one phillips head screwdriver for your motherboard and maybe your pci-e supports and hdd brackets. Maybe some zip-ties for cable management if you want to give that a go.
emulate some PS1 games
That's weird.
where was the drip coming from? The pump or a random fitting?
random middle part of the tubing
I cri everytiem
could be you need a new mobo
Battle Royale soiboys absolutely fucking fuming
Hard tubing or soft?
That sucks bro.
I'm getting a new one anyway when I upgrade again.
hard
yeah, but those are the risks using watercooling
Same, I just play map games faster now
yeah it must be why a new case didn't help much
one of your parts could be stressing the mobo too
All I know that I'm able to prevent the shutting off by not allowing the temperature to hit 84C, and when the system is clean it doesn't even get close to that temperature (thus no shut offs), so it's definitely dust-caused heat issues.
>build new pc
>monitor I bought has a dead pixel and I notice it two months later so they wont give me a new one since warranty cover 4 or more
