Harpies alone make playing Fighter/Warrior fucking impossible

How can anyone play this without ranged attacks.

You bring pawns with you that have a range attack. This is a team game. Also the warriors jumping light attack is great for a melee attack to kill flying enemies.

IS THERE ANYONE.
HERE.
RIGHT NOW.
WHO DOES NOT PLAY THIS GAME BECAUSE OF LOLI PAWNS.

Hire a yellow pawn you dumb dumb

Attached: 2016-01-17_00015.jpg (1920x1080, 299K)

That's what pawns are for.
You can't just be a jack of all trades.

My pawn is my daughteru

What are you, fucking gay?

>You can't just be a jack of all trades
Sorry, but hybrid classes exist.

My pawn is a tall tanned amazon warrior taller than me.

>switch users dont know about brine
Anytime you see a loli on the road pick it up and toss it into the sea or hire it and send it back with 1 stars and rotten meat. Dogma is for the buff and the amazon

Attached: 2016-02-06_00006.jpg (1920x1080, 383K)

You can't summon a maelstrom as a magick archer. Although you don't need to.

Can this game run on a toaster? I have a sudden crave for action RPGs.

Attached: 1556618672234.png (246x307, 22K)

what your specs? using my power of google i will assist you

How do vocations level up?
Is it based on XP?
Is it harder to get vocation ranks the higher level you are?

No, there are separate points for vocations, but I believe you get them from killing stuff all the same.

You can jump and hit them in the air. Also ranged party members, ya dufus

Vocation has stats associated with it. Min-maxing dont do shit in this game though so dont even worry about that, it is all gear based.

You level up vocations through using them.
Its not harder to get vocation ranks unless you are just stabbing rabbits like a doofus for 60 levels

It's an HP craptop, can't tell the specs cause I'm outside.

It does. You'll get like 10% extra attack or magic with BBI weapons if you minmax the entire game. The only question if it's worth it or not.

What level should I be to do BBI ? Im Level 46 now and the enemies in Gransys are way too easy. But I got my ass kicked when I went to BBI in early game.

Like 60-80 or whatever level you end up after you beat the main game + everfall.

Beat the main game, do the Everfall, don't finish the main game however.

Jump, white boy.

Literally just git gud.

t. someone who played through the entire base game + countless BBI runs exclusively as Warrior.

Yes because I’m not a pedophile who panders to the lowest common denominator

>harpy flies low
>jump attack it
>hits the ground and gets killed in 2-3 shots
Easy.

The metal golem on the other hand is impossible for fighters/warriors.
>"just shoot the amulet thing in the tree"
>"i can't reach it unless the golem is in the perfect spot for me to climb up it"
>"what the fuck is my yellow pawns doing"
"METAL GOLEMS ARE IMPERVIOUS TO DIRECT ATTACKS"
>continues to shoot arrows at it like an idiot

>t. someone who played through the entire base game + countless BBI runs exclusively as Warrior.
But did you enjoy all that jump attacking and punching the monsters with the hilt while you were climbing them? Did you enjoy only having 3 active skills? Did you?

>music is bugged and encounter music plays continuously until you hit a load screen
>pawn distribution is fucked and when you enter the rift it shows you pawns 20+ levels above you 99% of the time
>”cannot connect to the dragons dogma server, please try again later”

This switch port fucking stinks

Attached: 11FCDF59-69AE-49B8-8F47-5E17FF6C9B2D.jpg (400x394, 44K)

jump and attack when they dive into you. you even get Shield summon as a fighter.

I just play offline so I don't have to see this garbage

Warrior jump attacks are godly, the weak one actually propels you upwards, it’s super easy to take down harpies.

I play it for the loli arisen surrounded by mommy pawns.

>his pawn is a gurdian
the number one reason why your pawn is shit and no one hires it.

How do I make people want to hire my pawn?

Make it challenger. Or just whore her as a riftslut.

Did they ever fix the pawn voices so that they don't sound awful if you don't use that one default?

What's wrong with Guardian?

Always make your pawn the opposite of what your own character is.

Are you a melee build then pick a mage or archer
Are you a longrange build pick a warrior

Use the other pawns for support such as healing

There are barely any lolis in the switch rift, 80% of the pawns are either slender elves, huge fucking amazons or GoT/Trump/Hitler pawns

Attached: FA9DF6F3-8233-46E6-B928-EF079A9FCE93.jpg (1280x720, 262K)

Nope, it’s still just two default voices at different pitches.

Why would you do this? It can work, but for starters it's one of the worst advice. Just pick a pawn from the rift for that.

You bet I did. Yeah it was fucking brutal but that's what made it so rewarding.

Also knowing what to look for when hiring pawns helps a lot.

How do I change that?

Attached: Ren-chon.jpg (540x540, 155K)

>don't finish the main game however.
Wait, why? I thought there was a “post-game”, I assumed that meant BBI.

Do any of the shield skills and augments you get as a Fighter transfer over the Magic Shield of a Mystic Knight? Particularly the one that makes Perfect Guarding easier.

You have an anti-air skill for harpies liar

It boots you to NG+ like DS1 does.
Just get to the point of no return in Everfall and do BBI.

You’ll know what the post game is when you get there. It’s quite a change.

bbi isn't technically post game, it can be started at any point but you need high levels for it.

everfall and some quests is post game and finishing all that ends the playthrough

I don't think you can gift

make it a scather or a challager so it will actually do something. having the pawn play the same class as you and watch you fight also helps its fight better

Guardians are always on the defensive and just stands still.

there is a chair in the pawn Guild where you can change its behavior.

My mistake, I meant don't finish post-game. The entire game that is not BBI.
Passive skills in general can be used by anyone. Active skills however only if you use the same weapon. The mystic knights greatshield only uses spells.

damn this game looks like oblivion

My nigga

dont listen to him. finish the game and start on hard mode you will get more exp, money and level your class faster.

But what about sorcerer pawns? I heard scather sucks because it makes them cancel spells and climb stuff.

>Playing warrior

user, no. Just no

How the fuck do y’all even play mage/sorcerer? Maybe it’s just cause I’m early game but pawns are straight up just not smart enough to fight on their own and mobs still target you anyway so you just end up fucked

>Active skills however only if you use the same weapon.
I started as a Mage and the Staff skills transferred over to the Archistaff, so I figured it might work like that where different types of the same weapon share some skills. So is it because it's magic that it doesn't, like Shortbow and Longbow sharing skills but Magic Bow not?

>he did not give the armorer the golden idol
>gave him the brozon one instead

dont you lie to me. i know some of you did this.

An arisen with the right priorities in life.

>like Shortbow and Longbow sharing skills but Magic Bow not?
Short and longbow share some skills that are just similar, but the magic bow has an entirely different set of skills.

Train your pawn better. If you have trouble leave that vocation for a second playthrough when your pawn has more experience (they learn tactics against different monsters)
Sorcerer is a pretty OP class unless for the real endgame and late BBI when its not really a good choice since your pawns wont be of any help there

>mage
Congrats, you’re a healslut for the special ed squad and gameplay consists of standing still and charging pewpew spells.

>sorc
Still standing still and charging spells for longer times, but at least you’re flashy now.

Don’t fall for the meme, DD magic is only good to look at.

I did because I missed the quest for the golden one.

How important is it to switch to stronger weapons for late game?
Can I just use my wife’s sword the whole game if I keep upgrading or will it fuck me up at some point?

Pure blue classes are boring, but magic archer and magic knight are the most fun vocations in the game.

lad i'll let you in on a secret. the canon way to play this game is as a shota arisen with trap potential (NOT trap though). What you want is to be a sorcerer. Your teacher and motherly figure is of course a maximum muscle, maximum height, large breasted green skinned pointy eared mage orc mother-wife. Complimenting her is a blonde paladin type figure of similar stature and breast size, preferably with white and silver armour, to fill the sister wife role. This is rounded out by a small (NOT loli, larger than the arisen) flat pointy ear dark skinned (male) female strider, twink versatile.

Attached: 00416.png (217x190, 55K)

Magic archer is not only fun, is the most broken class on this or on any other game

Its like going to hunt ducks with a nuclear launcher

Maxing out Strider/Ranger/Fighter/Warrior for augments and weapon skills then settling on Assassin

It will fuck you up. Even goldforged weapons from the base game aren't good compared to BBI weapons.

100% important if you want to beat endgame, pretty much all the scaling is from the quality of the weapon you use. Unfortunately the scaling in this sense is one of the weaker parts of the game. It would've been really cool if we could reskin things freely like you can in Nioh that was a fucking amazing feature. At least in DD there reaches a point where you can really wear any armour your like for fashion and it's not that big of a deal.

Scather won't intrinsically cause casters to start trying to climb, grapple, and cling to enemies but it can increase the behavior if what they're taught puts them into a disposition to do it. Remember that your main pawns learns from you and that rented pawns have learned from their Arisens in a monkey see, monkey do fashion. If you have a Sorcerer rental that is climbing too much then it's because their Arisen is a dope who taught them badly. If it's your main pawn that's doing it then you need to show them what to do. Good pawns pretty much require running the same class as their Arisens because of this. Most pawn vocations can run a handful of inclination setups so don't just dismiss a good looking pawn because you see Scather on a Sorcerer. Only do that if you see Defender on anything.

Do I need to spend some time as a mage/sorc for magic growth if I want to play one of the magic hybrids?

Those classes have some importan augments, like shorter cast time and stronger spells, so yes

No, fuck that. You'll ruin your experience.. Minmaxing is a meme anyway since equipment is the source of 99% of the damage you do. Just play what you want.

There are optimal inclinations for each vocation, every one of those will be ruined over time. You literally can't do anything without changing your pawns vocation to something bad eventually. If you really want to see your pawn get rented you use those potions to change the inclination to what you want and then stop using your pawn so it won't change. If you use your pawn and want it to have certain inclinations you'll have to periodically refresh them with potions. There's no way around it.

you can pretty much max every vocation in the time it takes to reach max level. If you just play each vocation equally you'll be sweet, no need to be meta about it.

Alright thanks, I’ll just max out the vocations for augments and not minmax micromanage my levels and stat growth.

No, you need play the ranged classes so you have stamina.
Playing magic classes early game is literally cucking yourself

A little. Mostly for Augments. If you're playing MK you especially need good health and stamina growth and Sorcerer and Mage have terrible health growths and meh stamina growth. While you can get away with not maxing attack and defense stats, letting yourself have low health and stamina gets you into a place you really can't get out of once you're in BBI and mobs do fucktons of damage and you need chunks of stamina to deal with them.
I mean yeah we've all had to fight that creeping ACQUISITIONER. Just be smart about it I guess.

A well played fulmination or maelstrom can melt the larger monsters in one blast. My fighter arisen can barely start to climb a cyclops and the pawn sorc already vaporized it with fulmination.

I Dont know man, a well built Mk with a great cannon setup seemed like cheating when I played it. Add in a sigil and it's just not fun to play anymore.

Don't listen to he messed up his character and now he wants others to mess up theirs

>stands still and charge a spell to win
I guess I was wrong, that does sound like fun.

retard
pawns learn fromm your actions

are you a strider who jumps on enemies?
watch your sorc do the same

are you a warrior who grapples enemies?
watch your ranger do the same

this cannot be changed at all by the way not even with inclinations

I never said it was "fun". I just pointed out that magic isn't just for show like you're original post.

the classes all have their BS, you don't have to use them. ninefold bolts from MA is obscenely powerful. warrior meta is jumping primary attack which is fucking aids. dagger lads use downpour volley and brainsplitter. casters use enchanted focused bolt. the meta is real tiresome if that's all you play.

Loli pawns are for throwing to the Brine

Attached: 1528635225037.jpg (300x301, 31K)

>wiping out a squad of enemies with chain magic
>in an impressive grpahic display
>not fun
you niggers are why we will only ever get skyrim tier magic

this can be changed dumbass that's exactly what inclinations are. Even using pawn commands like "come here" chnages your inclination. in the later game you can pay riftbux to change inclinations to whatevr you want, they'll change eventually due to player actions but you can just hard reset them again whenever you want.

The point was its not fun to play. You click one button, stand still for 15 secs, and a pretty particle effect kills some mobs. That's effective, but terribly boring to play.

assassin with double jump

you are wrong
going bing bing wahoo on an enemy is not the onlyway to have fun

Attached: 1555981987361.jpg (1080x1080, 140K)

>d-don't minmax, it's all gear based!
>wtf why don't I deal damage in bbi

>Harpies alone make playing Fighter/Warrior fucking impossible
I can't remember what it's called, but Fighters have a move that is literally designed to do nothing but kill harpies.

Attached: overhere.gif (400x225, 2.3M)

Not to diss Sorcerer or DDDA in general because it's an all time favorite but casting and aiming does become a little boring after you 250th time in DDDA. There's an in-between with Sorcerer casting Grand Bolide for half a minute and spitting weak shit juice out of your hands like in Skyrim. Actually reminds me that in Hyrule Warrior you had Zelda wielding the Wind Waker and it was magic that was hecka fun to use. Long-range, different ways to use it, and had a unique mechanic of unleashing a tornado that the player controlled and could hit other swirling air pockets a few times and it unleashes a giant screen clearing attack. It's entirely possible to have amazing magic that just isn't press button of cast.

I levelled my pawn 1-200 as a mage, the worst vocation to level as, then took them to BBI as a strider spamming volley/splitter only and they fucking annihilated it. min maxing is totally pointless in this game.

Skyward Lash/Heavenward Lash.

It's impressive, but there's no point in using anything other than holy focused bolts most of the time unless you want to gimp yourself.

There's gotta be a better way to do it than cast times. Magic has so much potential but the wind up is excruciating.

In DDO they make you do a bunch of signs
not sure on the general consensus of it tho

How does it work? Is it like in Arx Fatalis?

Playing as a shota is the only way to experience this game and honestly makes the weird awkward cutscenes make more sense.

Do pawns learn from other arisens? My sorcerer friend is constantly hiring my sorcerer pawn. Will she learn from him?

You forgot
Dragon's Dogma thread

Well it only released 5 years later or so
Plus, DD is actually an amazing game, even today, while Oblivion wasn't even good when it released.

>mfw trying to get the well equipped achievement
thats the only one i need to 100% the game

Attached: 1381354495482.jpg (705x960, 89K)

learn yes, change inclinations no.

The spells are insanely powerful, and you have infinite mana. It's the only way to balanace magic, otherwise you either need a finite amount of magic, which isn't great, or the power of the spells needs to be toned down immensely.
So no, it's fine. You wait a long time, but you get incredible spells. Get rid of your ADD or play another vocation.

>get gold forged framae daggers, 4 periapts, the assasin augments that boost damage at night and playing solo dishing out a whopping 25200 damage
>muh 200 extra damage from min maxing totally helps!!!

It's not TOTALLY pointless, it's just marginally effective.
Gear is between 80-90%. If you care about the remaining 10-20%, you need to minmax. Most people don't, so it's adviced not to try to min-max (since it's generally not that fun), but there's people who absolutely adore getting the highest damage theoretically possible. You're doing those people a huge disservice by claiming min-maxing does 'nothing'.

You did "200" but not "Well Equipped"?

Never seen the golden version of it.

>if you don’t enjoy literally doing nothing and waiting for bars to fill out, you have ADD
This, my favourite class is install wizard.

Go out with Simone

it's so very close to not being worth it. the quest is designed to piss you off.

>Testing by doing fights and not against stationary targets and via an RNG vocation

This video is fucking retarded LMAO

Pale off color(blue/green) loli arisen and chocolate elf giantess pawn is the OTP

the quest is piss easy

WRONG

MA or MK for next playthrough?

both of my friends had loli pawns. both for different reasons though- one of them because he is a weeb and the other because he loves child assassins. The weeb loli I threw into the brine and never summoned again.

How do I get good at perfect blocking? I can't even tell what counts as an attack half the time, it feels like the hitbox comes out of nowhere. That's not counting when something jumps in or fires at me from off screen.

I actually find fighting harpies is easiest with a warrior, that jumping attack plus eminence really hits hard and you have great range on the light jumping attack. Sniping them out with a bow is hard sometimes when they're already close to you and especially if they're in a smaller area like tainted mountain the flying is super erratic.

It's super easy as a mage. Just use fire affinity and press the button while facing it and the Harpy falls out of the sky as good as dead.

Me.
I made my Arisen as Dante, and my pawn is Dante.

Attached: ROLLIN' DEEP, NIGGAS.jpg (712x383, 70K)

fair enough, I really don't ever use mage/sorc as a PC

Rapidly mash the guard button or just block attacks until you learn the timing of them.

>want to try magic archer
>remember that I have to kill the duke's faggots for a few minutes to level it first
>quit the game

>ranged pawn knocks them down
>smack em with your wep
or
>wait for them to fly kinda low and use the warrior's broke ass aerial attack to fuck em

ALSO WHY THE FUCK DOES WARRIOR ONLY HAVE 3 SKILLS?

It only needs three

>get Asura armor
>fight a few guards
>hang out on the wall by the church
>free discipline and vocation levels
They don't aggro your pawns and they have no jumping attacks so you can go afk and let your pawns kill them for a bit. Go take a shit or something and come back to check on your progress. Assuming you're in post-game.

Lowest common denominator would be making a game without lolis.

My pawn is my OC waifu
Very based

I'm fine with 3 skills I just wish they had either a blocking skill (even a shitty one), a dodge(other than exodus slash, like a juke or something), or some sort of double jump equivalent (I hate not being able to reach certain loot just because I want to play warrior. The same could be said for fighter).

>All those DD threads

I just run from him. Can he be cheesed easily with blast arrows/vim/conqueror's?

I enjoy using scantily clad buff men

Imagine how much better would it be with proper stats slightly better

I play for loli Arisen with slight muscle

>Can he be cheesed easily with blast arrows/vim/conqueror's?
Very yes

I could see it working if they added a core skills that enables guarding with a two hander, which then unlocks the "secondary" skill slots.

Me.
I play a short male Arisen, with a Tall bow using Pawn.
Why? Because my wife is taller than I am. Living the dream man.

No one is hiring my pretty elf mage (male). He's utilitarian/challenger so good inclinations.
Makes me sad.

Your fat ass can’t even fit through certain doorways.

Yeah i thought something was up when the battle music played when i was just running through the fields

they don't even need that, I don't feel I need more skills but some sort of blocking skill would be very useful.

The server issue can be rectified by turning off the console entirely. It's a bit of a pain.

Hey, that worked. Thanks.

Post that cutie

No because I'm not a fucking homo

Yep. I'm running it just fine on a 4GB ram, Intel Graphics HD laptop.

jump attack for warriors m8

shit actually hits the fan when you face Metal Golems and Liches as a melee class

Learn how to use the environment. Stand on top or inbetween rocks, focus on moving the camera so you can escape (by walking out while still casting the spell of course) as needed and so on.

Don't mind if I do haha

>not fatherly figure

They really should have included a rare item (preferably crafted with his own drops) that makes Death unable to run away for those who are too lazy to cheese him properly. Fuck re-entering the Bloodless Stockade like 9 times just to kill him once

What skills should I use in my first Assassin run?

Usually it's a week or so.

Best boss fight ever.

So I just got the final battle quest, I’m level 55. Do I just go fight the dragon or what?
I killed the drake, but even that was a bit of an effort, the pawns kept dropping like flies and I couldn’t see what the fuck I was doing while climbing.
I can’t find any new quests though.

Me. Male Arisan with a male pawn. I also don't rent any female pawns, especially not any lolis.

Attached: 1518313838875.gif (250x300, 737K)

It's better than Skyrim shit, but come on, it gets boring pretty quickly. I played Sorc all the way up to getting Maelstrom, and it was fun for like the first 10 times I did it, but the novelty wears off. Every encounter just consists of standing there and winding up a huge instant win explosion while the pawns run around distracting them.
Is there a better way to play Sorc that I'm missing?
Do later enemies add any challenge or variety?
If not I'm just gonna start again as a different class.

Same.

Attached: Mary san.png (400x400, 84K)

does the pacing pick up? I'm about 3 hours in and it feels so slow.

No. It actually gets slower.

Based paper clip homoman

Fighter and warrior have a lot of skills that really should have just been standard attacks.

Attached: 3kkjfw3.jpg (480x360, 12K)

Fighter and warrior have that skill where you can catapult pawns into the air to grab flying enemies and it's so cool on paper but in practice it never works out.

bump

those skills are better for getting your pawn up high on a monster or to grab a drake that's hovering low.

You can train your pawn to use the skill and fling you up to flying monsters but if you want to actually do any damage while climbing on to a monster you have to play as one of the dagger classes and at that point just use your bow or double jump on to the monster yourself.

a man of taste

What IS the dragon's dogma?

It's fun to use on your pawn if they have skull splitter

>garms spew poison even as they die
>they're weak to poison
Bravo

What did Yea Forums think of "Into Free -Dangan-"? Because I miss hearing it every time I turn on my Switch

It's the sword you get from beating Grigori as either Fighter or Mystic Knight.

I thought it was pretty good, thanks for asking.

if they can be poisoned then they're weak to poison. It can blind you, does that mean it shouldn't be able to be blinded?
Poison doesn't even matter anyway, torpor is the condition that matters. I always bring at least one set of rusted weapons for me or my pawn when I go in BBI.

It was super fucking hype, even if it didn't fit the game it was fantastic and always made me excited to play.

What are some overlooked skills?
Implicate as a strider is really fun, especially for fast enemies like wolves, also super fun in high areas where you can then proceed to chuck enemies to their impending doom. Carried my strider through most of the main game

Also Fracture Dart is really strong. It takes a bit to learn how to aim it but you can knock a cursed dragon out of the sky with one well placed shot even with a rusted bow (mine is Goldforged, don't know how much of a difference that makes)

I don't hire female pawns for tactical reasons

It was the best intro for any game ever.

>Fracture Dart is really strong
never even tried it desu, I stuck with full bend, downpour, and the multishot for strider bow skills.

Shadow shackle, grand scension on magick archer are fucking great; I imagine most people focus on how broken the bow skills are for BBI but the dagger skills are great too.

Corona Slash is pretty good for fighting multiple small enemies like hellhounds and it just feels great. Especially if you get a ring to enhance it.

Intimate gamble on assassin is very overlooked but it does great damage, stun, has low cost, and is available at vocation level 3 I think.
