21 year old here, someone explain to me the appeal of Oblivion. It's the worst game I've ever played.
>what are* you playing?
couple VNs from the 90s
>what game you looking forward to?
Nothing. Video Games are dead.
>hows life in the twilight of your prime years?
It feels like I shouldn't be wasting my time too much with virtual stuff. There is still a lot I need to do. Open a startup, make a company, learn languages, get even more /fit/er, meet people I miss, etc.
Also pic related is my favorite game.
Is jill valentine fucking that dog?
>what you playing?
modded skyrim, modded warband, NS2, DaS3
>what game you looking forward to?
bannerlord, stalker 2 and TES VI. Maybe steam dorffort if they improve the gui/uix
>hows life?
im not doing well financially but working on it, starting a little business is hard. Got a pretty hot GF so that's nice.
Literally me. Check out Prophesy of Pendor for Warband if you haven’t yet. And of course Call of Chernobyl + aresenal/outfit/mission mods. I’m 33. Married to 8/10 but she’s getting fatter. She just overdrew our bank account because all women will kill you.
I just turned 29. Can I join too?
The middle ground millennial was 18 when oblivion released. They're now in their 30s.
Oblivion is literally THE boomer era game.
>what are you playing?
Nier: Automata for the moment. I'm kinda going through some backlog games. I'm thinking about finishing octopath traveler once I'm done with it.
>looking forward to?
Nothing currently. I'm actually kind of happy about that too. I'm excited to dive into my backlog.
>how's twilight life?
Pretty good actually. I'm excelling at my current place of employment, started dieting and getting back into the gym again and have a couple projects lined up for in the future. Almost all of my debt is paid off too, so I guess I'd say I'm in a pretty solid place. Here's some NSJ for reading my blog.
I want to replay old console RPGs, or even finish the backlog of games, too many games too little time. But right now I "pushed" myself to try and finish Dragon Quest XI. As for games to look forward to, I wish Square would finally make HD remakes of some of their classics like Seiken Densetsu 3, FFT, or even Vagrant Story. As for life in general, sometimes you're so busy in life, you don't realize how much time you have left with your loved ones. I used to dream to live in another country or to travel alot once I saved up enough money (influenced by RPG exploration lol), but now I think I want to stay here and spend more time with my family and relatives as well. pic related, I can't get pass the first part of the game because I keep returning to Cobblestone because I know it will be gone soon. T.T
Cyber slut in vita, I play it 30 mins before sleep.
Rune Factory 4S and 5.
Can be worse.
Get well soon, user.
Been playing some warcraft 3 custom game rpg's lately. Also replaying Borderlands 1 and 2 since 3 is coming out on Steam next year.
Don't know what games i'm really looking forward to. The only one which hasn't been a major letdown in a while was Sekiro, but still wasn't too impressed by it.
I'm not even sick.
I finished playing dead rising because my other boomer friends told me its GOTY.
They lied to me. Badly.
steamcommunity.com
Playing MK11 on PS4. Also Tetris 99 and sometimes the messenger on Switch. I want to kontinue Divinity: OS2 but don't have my PC right now. Also, sort of neglected Sekiro, need to get back into that. Looking forward Switch version of dragon quest, and I guess Mario Maker.
Dead rising is a good 8/10 game but nothing more.
Playing smt strange journey redux and am looking forward to borderlands 3
>what you playing?
DFO and Senran Kagura Burst Renewal
>what game you looking forward to?
Ultimate Alliance 3, Astral Chain, Project BBQ. I really don't go looking for news of future games.
>hows life in the twilight of your prime years?
I'm just existing.
>what you playing?
Currently, office system.
>what game you looking forward to?
Good one.
>hows life in the twilight of your prime years?
Need to get back to the gym. Gods, I need to be strong again... and change my shitty job.
I'm not even considering getting a gf.
>good
I will admit it left very strong emotional impact on me. Its definitely something i wont forget anytime soon (compared to other games i played and forgot the nwxt week).
28 here sick of playing vidya atm was playing mordhau but it needs more content
Doom eternal and rage 2
Shit
>in their 30s
>boomer
t.retard
>what you playing?
Assassin's Creed Origins
>what game you looking forward to?
Don't know, I'm very slow with going through releases nowadays. Nier Automata, RE2, Cuphead maybe?
>hows life in the twilight of your prime years?
I wish I would die. I played video games in all my life and I was always shit in them but nothing else interests me. I'm completely losing my mind.
I'm replaying skyrim but not so much replaying it as just turning it in a degenerate porn game. I just boot it up and fap and then lose interest.
35 here. Replaying through pic related again, then I'll jump into Kiwami 2 on PC as it comes out at the end of the week, then some Resonance of Fate after than. After RoF I'll take a dig at a few games in my backlog.
No, can you not read?
Replaying REmake because the excellent RE2 remake got me back into classic Resident Evil. After that I think I'll play RE7 again, or maybe play the original RE2.
>PLAYAN
Final Fantasy 4 on the SNES Classic as I never beat it when I was a kid
>LOOKING FORWARDAN
Animal Crossing Switch. I bought a switch JUST FOR that game
>LIFEAN
Fucking fantastic. Nice to have an extra day off for Bank Holiday. I have about 8 more weeks left at work, then a 6 week paid vacation. I don't DO MUCH with my life, outside of games and anime, but this last 12 months I've discovered DND with some GREAT people online, and I'm happier than I've ever been.
>all those random caps
I can tell you're bottling something up.
24 year old here, can someone explain to me the appeal of Skyrim. It's the worst game I've ever played.
Oh shoot, I forgot the other questions.
>what game you looking forward to?
Singular? Most looking forward to "Judgement" in June. There are others, but that's the one I'm most excited for at the moment.
>hows life in the twilight of your prime years?
It's okay. Like my current job (quit my boring as fuck office job earlier in the year for an electronics warehouse management job), and my current girlfriend doesn't annoy me as much as my previous flings. We recently moved into a new 2 bedroom apartment. Mortgage isn't crazy high, and she was able to bring her cat who is adorable. All in all not the worst it's been. Pretty decent.
27 year old here, someone explain to me the appeal of Morrowind. It's the worst game I've ever played.
>turn 25 last year
>26 now
>boomer threads jumped from 25+ to 30+ overnight
I am a little depresssed at how little I've done in life, but I'm at a really good place. I work my dream job, and can do whatever I want in my downtime. I just think compared to my peers, my life has been pretty sheltered
I know what you mean. I've been trying to spend more time learning how to play guitar instead of just playing vidya and lying in bed watching videos and lurking.
27 here, Morrowind is my favourite game. Played it since I was 13
>what you playing?
Diablo 1 w/ Belzebub mod. Amazing
>what game you looking forward to?
Mordhau after I buy it tonight
Also:
Pathologic 2
Noita
Blasphemous
>hows life in the twilight of your prime years?
fuck you man that hurt
Playing CoH again, but this time I'm married with two kids. The oldest is stomping Return to Dreamland, and the youngest likes playing Mario All Stars. Wife's learning Nip.
First seen it on my friend's pc. It was something out of this world - alien, exiting. Heard my friends talking about it. Then when i got my own PC, played it and worshiped it with reverence. Then played Oblivion. Years later, Skyrim. And Morrowind is still my favorite.
>appeal
Exotic, mysterious, with a lot of details and plenty of freedom to do feats fit for a god.
Seriously, there is warmth in that game that only Oblivion can come close to giving. Its the world, atmosphere, ambience... even if npcs are static.
>30+ thread
>Oblivion
wh-what?
Playing FF6 with the Beyond Chaos EX randomizer, it's pretty stupid
Oblivion is more of a 25+
I spend all my time replaying games from my childhood, watching SHITE on youtube and getting back into anime. In terms of PERSONAL happiness I'm at 10/10, but in terms of societies acceptance I'm about a 3. I have a good job that I'm VERY passionate about, but I've never left the UK, I have no friends IRL and no GF in 10 years
personal happiness is the only thing that matters
keep on trucking user
Cheers brother. I am very happy with my life, I just feel like I'm missing out. I wanna go to some places, but the thought of going somewhere abroad on my own is very daunting
Guess how old an 18 year old playing oblivion in 2006 is now.
If you play games at all you're automatically a child.
are people in this thread supposed to play only old games? stop shitposting and kill yourself
how is that game?
I've read that the more guides you read the more you mess the game, is that right?
is the game playable withiout some reading first since it has a complex system?
Yes these threads are for people who aren't children to talk about games they're playing now that zoomers wouldn't appreciate.
>playing?
restarted dark chronicles on ps2 again, still halfway trough pathfinder kingmaker
>looking forward to?
this year, only yakuza judgement
>life in general?
oh boy i hate it, hope i´ll be able to leave the big city in the next 10 years because the only thing i feel is the need to leave to a rural area and die in peace
i think the tutorials in game for the combat system in last remnant is enough to get you going to working it out yourself
the levelling system is the only thing you need to really try and work out, if i remember it right, grinding = bad
Haha yes because millennials didn't play oblivion despite the average millennial just being ~18 when it released.
Oblivion is objectively one of the biggest games for the millennial generation no matter how warped your jaded view is.
You are agreeing with me you know.
>people who aren't children
Millennial, aka gen Y
>zoomers wouldn't appreciate.
Exactly, zoomers aka gen Z can't appreciate games that are core millennial like Oblivion. See
I'm 31yo and I enjoyed/enjoy oblivion
I also play older and modern games
stop ruining the thread please
Sorry you replied to someone who was questioning other posters who were implying oblivion isn't a boomer/millennial game, your reply seemed like you were agreeing with them. My bad.
nice... I've been playing coh as well when I can love the /coxg/ server.
>what you playing?
Mafia III
>what game you looking forward to?
Warcraft: Reforged
>hows life in the twilight of your prime years?
Financialy OK. Gaming suxx tough cause of kids can't find too much spare time during day. Nights I feel drained and don't have energy to play.
You don't have energy to sit on your ass and do nothing but click? Get fucked.
if you're here only to shitpost then fuck off
Only turned 30 in November, so it's new territory.
>what you playing?
Breath of the Wild, it's nice.
>what game you looking forward to?
Not really any? Mount and Blade 2. I hardly pay attention anymore. Very little on the consoles.
>hows life in the twilight of your prime years?
It's actually okay... It's really hard to find time to do stuff, and I had a bit of a shocking realisation that I'll never complete all of the hundreds of games I own. I have a much more active social life in my adult years as its become easier to find people you're comfortable with if you want to.
>what you playing?
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux
>what game you looking forward to?
Waiting for my modded Gba to play all my childhood games
>hows life?
Pretty shit. Financially panicking, depressed and bored with life atm.
Lads I become a boomer in a year
What do
you guys are still young at 30, don't bury yourselves before you're dead
t. zoomer
>playing
Kurtzpel, though I'm about 30 hours into and about to give up on it.
>looking forward to
Nothing on the market actually
>hows life
I've spent the last 6 months of my life unemployeed and doing nothing outside of play games. I'm kind of job hunting but getting back into society for work sucks. I'm at that point where I don't know what I want to do at all despite having skills in several fields.
Just don't grind and you're fine. It's basically a SaGa game.
>Mafia III
yikes
enjoy
Playing nothing, looking forward to A Plague Tale Innocence and Death Stranding.
>that one day in a biology lesson
>off-hand mention Sheo and Jyggy
>classmate asks me about my take on Shivering Isles

>we barely even notice
>teacher asks what the fuck are we talking about
>vidya.jpg
>she just asks if its really that exiting
>say yeah, its really good
>tfw only one other guy in the whole class who plays vidya
Meh, having my own PC was a blast at that time - C&C, Heroes 3 and 4, Morrowind, Oblivion, Diablo 2, Halo, Unreal Tournament 99 and 2004. Starcraft, Warcraft 3/FT. FEAR, Quake, Tribes.
Man, 2006-2009 was a good time.
mein negger, I just got into OpenXcom and I'm playing Final Mod Pack, looking forward to trying X-files and X-Piratez
>zoomers OUT
>posts oblivion
I'm here to call you a shithead. I've got a family and when I come home from working on buses, I still make time to play Kirby with my boys. Hate to be cliched, but MAN UP.
making me sad annon
>what you playing?
Median XL Sigma 1.1 (Diablo 2 mod), new league+patch came out about a week and a half back, about half way though the end game content but probably need to make a new build to get further.
>what game you looking forward to?

>hows life in the twilight of your prime years?
Not bad, did a 7.5mi fun run yesterday and got a shirt out of it. Going to be working on my yard and fixing sprinklers later.
*hug*
Im fluent in russian, was watching a video about the 00's gaming clubs and games. Was crying, a bloody lot.
And then i was angry - hated gopnics, and still do.
>russian
Go kill yourself. No one wants to speak with Russians, not even Russians.
I said im fluent in russian, you imbecile. That does not imply that i am russian.
Good lord, are you me? Fantastic taste in vidya.

>hows life in the twilight of your prime years?
Kinda weird. Have more money than I know what to do with, have friends I do stuff with occasionally but haven't been in a relationship in 10 years and really have no actual desire to be in one, but every wedding I go to I'm the only single and it's kinda getting to me.

There's been a bunch of yard sales now that there's nice weather. My PS2 collection is growing with the 1 and 2 dollar games I've been picking up.
Currently playing through the Jak and Daxter series.

Oh shit, I forgot about Cyberpunk, definitely looking forward to that too
I miss my hair, bros.
Diablo 3
>what you playing?
immortal unchained - can be pretty frustrating in parts (long distances between bonfires, teleporting snipers, randomized enemy spawn locations, ganking, long leashes) but overall worthwhile. shooting and dodging feels good.
>what game you looking forward to?
the surge 2
>what you playing?
unironically trying to beat Super Mario Bros. for the first time
played the hell out of Deluxe on my GBC, but never actually played the original all the way through, plus I want to do every level and not use warps.

Finishing up Persona 5 and looking forward to getting shakedown hawaii on my switch tomorrow
