I just cfw'd my 3DS

I just cfw'd my 3DS,
What games to recommend?

I've already got PC, Switch, Xbone and PS4 ports covered, just wanna try something the 3DS has to offer.

Damn, nice, i missed out on that.
Putting that on my list i guess.

Bravely Default
Monster Hunter 3U, 4U
SMT4+Apocalypse
Soul Hackers
Etrian Odyssey series
Ace Attorney games

fire emblem conquest

I'm personally quite fond of the mini game types. The big two the 3DS being Wario Ware Gold and Rhythm Heaven Megamix.
Mario Kart and 3D Land are fairly solid. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is okay, more of the same.
Snake Eater 3D has the best controls of any version but the framrate is awful, even on New 3DS, but if you're getting it for free, no harm in trying it.
Every Pokemon game for the system is okay, nothing great, but again, worth playing.
Kid Icarus and Xenoblade are overrated, but worth a go.

Unfortunately, the best games for the 3DS are the multiplats, VVVVVV, Shovel Knight and Terraria are decent versions.
Would highly recommended Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon if you can find a cia for it.

EX Troopers
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Rhythm Heaven: Megamix

Attached: 51356460_p9.png (350x500, 135K)

It looks nice but it's boring. I think 4 heroes of light is better on ds honestly.
Etrian is nice, xenoblade 3d is the best jrpg evur. MH3u, 4u, yeah, play those. 4 zelda games, with 1 being exclusives, 2 enhanced ports, 1 party game or whatever. Kid icarus, luigis mansion 2, yoshi woolly world, kirby, too many games, man

Senran Kagura because it has 3d boobs

This

>Rhythm Heaven
I stopped playing after coin stage. Too fucking hard. harmonyrthysm or whatver it was called was also nice, but rhythm games are too niche.

Been meaning to try Ace Attorney for a while,
I thought it was originally an NDS game? Did they update it for 3D capabilities?

Been meaning to try FE too, but conquest is the first iteration for the 3DS?

Does Snake Eater 3D require that weird second analog add-on?
Shovel Knight's the fucking bomb here so far.

Rhythm Heaven is one of the few games i downloaded when i cfw'd this. I'm still going through the NDS one though. Fun game.

I'm all for 3D boobs, but i just can't find an option to get the english version of the first game. The only one i found was the 2nd one, but im not one to skip a title without going through the first one first.

Awakening is the first fire emblem game for the 3ds, and all around a better intro to the series

AA is originally a GBA game, but since then moved to DS as well as got DS ports of the old games.
The newer games (and new cases added to the old games) have some advanced mechanics not present in the original releases. Although I don't think any of them use the 3D gimmick in particular. I don't know of ANY games on 3DS that do.

Shame but I can see why. I tried to 100% it but a fair few of the games are unfair. I used to be a drummer so I thought I had some fairly decent rhythm, having to count 8 beats in my head showed me.

Snake Eater doesn't need that expansion, you can aim with the a, b, x, y buttons, which surprisingly is fairly good.

Rune Factory 4
Stella Glow

Sticking these down my list.
Though a shame theres no 3D gimmicks for AA, kinda liking the effect so far, my lil brother and sister find them trippy.

Then looking forward to Snake Eater as well i guess, I've only had issues with the pressure sensative aim buttons from the Ps2 era, they seem to fix that with the HD collection, but on the vita they got that shortcut to cancel aim with the dpad.

I have no idea if 3DS has it, but i hope it does, otherwise this would be hell. I'm still looking forward to finishing snake eater again on a 3rd console lol.

Rune Factory 4, nice, i actually missed out on this since it was a 3DS only title.

They got rid of the pressure sensitive buttons for the 3ds version. If I remember right you mash one button to knock them out, or tap another to kill them.
If you've homebrewed it, turning on your 3ds while holding select will take you to the luma menu. Activate clock+l2 which will force your new 3ds to use its better hardware, which it won't normally do.
MGS3 still runs poorly, but still better than without. Might be best turning it off for other games as it doesn't work for everything and can cause crashes.

SMT games in general
Alliance Alive
Stella Glow
Ghost Recon Shadow Wars
Codename Steam
Monster Hunter games
Kid Icarus Uprising

Also play Zelda ALBW, OoT3D and MM3D

Second to that!

Is there a point to keep updating the bootstrap?, haven't done it since the last year

Attached: 1480048419217.png (530x464, 414K)

Both Super RObot Wars UX and BX

Is installing games still a pain where you bassically need double space available and it takes way longer than it should?

Probably not but there's a possibility that future versions of CFW will get new features that require a B9S update. I think this has only happened maybe once in the last year or two for Luma so you don't really need to worry about it.

Just use Boop. Google it

If it ain't broke, don't fix it

>Ghost Recon Shadow Wars
I thought this was an FPS at first, now i'm just intrigued. this ones on my list too i guess.

>Zelda ALBW, OoT3D and MM3D
Waaaay ahead of ye m8.

>double space.
For me it is :c I'm still using FBI to install .cias

And I think getting a 64GB micro sd might be overkill for all these games, but i guess the extra space wont be an issue. Is there a way to watch 3D movies/porn on the 3DS or am i just wishful thinking?

Attached: 1548661048259.jpg (750x750, 89K)

not user you replied to but I personally never got boop to actually work, it may just be shitty internet though

thanks bros

Attached: 1555224153876.jpg (1819x1786, 507K)

How did you hack it. What TUT did you follow

- Make sure FBI is updated
- Make sure your 3DS is on the same connection as your PC
- DLC can often fail to install with Boop, but is easy to install manually
- Don't bother installing update files with Boop; once you have the game installed you can safely fetch updates from nintendo the way you would with a legit copy

These are the common pitfalls I've seen people have with it whenever I set up a friend with CFW. If none of these fix it then yeah it's possible your internet just sucks.

3ds.guide
/hbg/ will tell you it's a tranny site or something but that's honestly just a circlejerk

The usual, but thats not to say i had a few hiccups, it took me a few hours and retries, but i eventually got through i guess.
I'm not really good with technology, but we kinda figured things out slowly.

The magnet thing sounds really stupid at first, but i was kinda surprised it was a thing you had to do.

Magnet method is outdated and needs a flashcart, we do frogminer now

stella glow undub

>circle pad acting up
what the fuck do i do lads

Attached: Clear Time.jpg (503x317, 18K)

Correction: not outdated, but unnecessary. Should frogminer get patched magnet will be the go-to again though since it's unpatchable

>I just cfw'd my 3DS, What games to recommend?
I know this may seem like a shit opinion but hear me out.
Download Detective Pikachu and save it for an emergency. Some may say it's not a great game but it's lengthly and fun enough when you really need it.
Last year my internet service shit the bed, it stopped working for like a week, and the lord knows being in silence with my own thoughts can be literally suicide-inducing. This game saved me from that. I liked it.
Also play it in Japanese audio if you can.

And by the way, FUCK the movie.

Attached: Screen Shot 2019-05-06 at 2.47.02 AM.png (1058x702, 925K)

pokemon x/y and platinum, hg/ss via the ds emulator

Attached: 1552341997932.jpg (2000x2800, 408K)

is there a QR code floating around for the undubbed version of Persona Q?

It's in Japanese, but you could use a guide website, Kenka Banchou 6 is a very good beat em up set in a Japanese highschool

Well, i did the magnet/flashcard method already, what am i missing out without the frogminer method?

The flashcard thing with the NDS option was kinda neat though.

As much as i hate dubs, they're still kinda useful for when i'm at work.

I was actually second guessing Detective Pikachu, it just seemed kinda odd. The movie didn't help, but since you feel strongly about this, i'm giving it a try lol .

>hg/ss
Im not sure what that is, but i also got a working flash cart that lets me play DS games, already did platinum, but X/Y is a good adition i guess.

>Might be best turning it off for other games as it doesn't work for everything and can cause crashes.
I've had the CPU overclock enabled for like a year on mine across probably 70 or so games without a crash. The L2 cache hack probably will cause crashes in many games, though

to clarify when i let go of a direction the circle pad returns to neutral, but sometimes the movement might persist for a little bit. Is there a way to fix this that doesn't involve completely wiping my n3ds to send in or spending all day taking the thing apart?

You're not missing out on anything by not doing frogminer. You have CFW already so you're already in the clear. It's just better to recommend frogminer to people new to CFW so they don't think they need to buy a flashcart

>It's just better to recommend frogminer to people new to CFW so they don't think they need to buy a flashcart.
heh, wish i knew this sooner.
Well to be fair the only reason i decided to CFW was because i saw a cheap hand-me-down flashcart on sale.

>Is there a way to watch 3D movies/porn on the 3DS or am i just wishful thinking?
There is, indeed. go to 3dsiso.com and search for them

You can even make your own if you can find the Moflex maker thing (shuld also be o 3dsiso)

heart gold/ soul silver, you could also play sumo 1/2 but i thought those were awful

Attached: D37lc5EU4AEOfL0.jpg (748x748, 70K)

frogminer is a fairly recent method so if you hacked yours more than about 3 months ago you probably actually needed to do magnethax since that was the only available method for a while. flashcarts are cool though, you basically get an extra SD card slot for ds games

Welp, i know what i'm doing tonight,

Also i don't know if it's a thing, but i also do SFM animations for kicks and faps.
Do you know if theres already a way to render them for 3DS? or am i reaching too far into the sun here?

Attached: 1537835769926.jpg (567x654, 46K)

kirby planet robobot is the best kirby game in the series

Thanks bro's

What's the most gimmicky 3ds game? Is there something that takes advantage of accelerometer, touch screen and mic at the same time?

wario ware gold

>tfw went through unstable as fuck downgrading to rxTools via sliderhack years ago
How are you guys still having trouble hacking when it's been streamlined so much?

Emulate the games at a decent resolution on your PC

My nigga. Literally the only two games worth my time.

I was thinking something along the lines of early ds games which would have unnecessary "blow the dust from the book" or "scratch that belly" segments.

I'm not gonna sugar coat it,
I can barely work my own computer for the simplest tasks or removing viruses.

But i can confidently say i'm decent when it comes to SFM because of porn.

Yeah but no gimmicky 3D stuff, where's the fun in that.

3ds ended with the best catalog of any portable console

if you want a working luma updater, I guess

Only because it can run ds games

Is there a reason to update Luma though? Now that it has built-in screenshot function, I can't think of a reason to update.

Well, all you'd need to do is render them and make a video, then run that video through the Moflex creation tool, same as any other thing. If you want it in 3D I guess you'd have to make two videos, each shot from a slightly different angle and then use the Moflex creator to combine them into one 3D video

no no in my opinion the 3ds catalog alone it's pretty good

Since this is the 3DS thread, how tough is it to completely reshell an XL and swap the buttons/stick out? I got one with a busted hinge and no money at the moment for a new one, but an entire new housing for it is only like 20 bucks. How easy is it to break something if I've never done this before?

at the same level of ds even more, the last good console in the middle of this shitstorm in which this hobby has become.

Glad you like it, I'm pretty disappointed in it so far, maybe it's just the lack of good metroidvanias and my general gaming fatigue.

Best mod for a 3ds hands down, the stock c-stick is so shit it's baffling.

I have recently re-addicted myself to Rune Factory 4, playing on hard and exploring the crafting system more than I did when I first played. If you like farming/life sim games and have a high weebshit tolerance, I can't recommend it enough.
Picross is always good as a small time killer.

my circle pad it's totally fucking fucked mate.
Where can I find someone to change it for me? I am too retarded to try it myself.

SMT Strange Journey Redux

Attached: 1534585176117.png (666x429, 51K)

I've played through DSJ Neutral+ route, and I honestly don't get the Mastema meme. Having played through IV and Apocalypse before I get the Law hatred, but in SJ Mastema does nothing but help the space marine on his quest. Even though at some point their paths cross, he just leaves then.

r4gold+ or whatever the "good" DS flash card is nowadays, Etrian Odyssey series and The Dark Spire.

Well of course the "good" guy helps you.
He wants you to brings humanity to the law side.
Law does this by being all nice and shit.
Chaos tries this by beating you into submission.

>2019
>using flashcarts

Attached: 1362249620836.jpg (285x272, 11K)

I like the features on the flash cart, are those native to 3DS CFW now?

What exact features are you talking about?

....all of them? What are you on about, 3DS cfw support for DS roms was nonexistent back when I last bothered with this.

Monster hunter 4U
Rune Factory 4
Etrian Odyssey 4 & Untold 2
Kid Icarus
The Alliance Alive
Warioware Gold

relatively obscure games:
Maplestory: Girl of Destiny (english translated)
Stella Glow (undub for better experience)
Liberation Maiden
Culdcept Revolt
A-Train 3D city simulator (one of the best city sims out there)

Attached: 1553625442230.png (1200x1600, 1.69M)

Is Monster Hunter a big game?

WHICH
EXACT
FEATURES,
YOU CLOWN?

Flash carts are used to install B9S on any firmware nowadays, no?

Playing original DS games is a damn important feature of the 3DS, user

i have MHXX and it's 18000~ blocks on the 3DS so somewhere around that much

ALL
OF
THEM
YOU
GOD
DAMN
RETARDED
VELCRO
USING
PORCH
MONKEY
HIV
INFECTED
NIGGER
LICKER

They've made big jumps with that. I haven't fucked with it too much myself, but I know I can play Ghost Trick from my SD card now with no particular hiccups, at least as far as I have seen so far.

>Is Monster Hunter a big game?
4U

T-thanks

wow dude chill

Ah, yeah, but with my flash cart I have I believe every DS game ever made on a separate memory card with a separate UI and it doesn't clutter up the 3ds menu.

lol

Attached: 1538173527713.jpg (450x338, 32K)

Sir, if you would be so kind as too list them in the order of importance to your person it would help a lot, there is no need to get upset over something so trivial.

Attached: 1277487461587.jpg (404x446, 49K)

just an educated guess, he's probably referring to things like savestates, cheats and rewind (would be funny if he used that to beat EO)

The way it works it pretty much loads into a flashcart-esque menu from a single tile on the actual main 3ds screen, unless you want to set up a forwarder for every single rom, but that is decidedly optional.

And
That's the most important. The 3DS home menu is absolute garbage.

For reals? It's come a long way. I don't have the storage on my main SD card, though, for my DS library.

My top pick is Citra instead

>culdcept revolt

donĀ“t have sex pilled

i don't know if you're interested in the DS library but you can download TwiLight Menu++ and play DS games too (a few game have compatibility issues / romhacks don't work)
copy pasting a previous list i made before

Castlevania series
Professor Layton series
Advance Wars series
The World Ends With You
Rhythm Heaven DS
Tetris DS (Yes really, tetris)
Warioware Touched!
Trauma Center
Megaman Starforce 1 Leo
Digimon Dawn / Dusk
Pokemon Ranger Shadows of Almia

relatively unknown games that gets mentioned from time to time:
Bangai O Spirits
Etrian Odyssey 3
Ghost Trick
Radiant Historia (DS > 3DS, any remade Atlus games gets their difficulty nerfed)
Rondo of Swords

Attached: 1544523724814.jpg (692x627, 71K)

play inazuma eleven

Citra sucks

Yokai watch 3 is finally undubbed

Attached: yo-kai watch 3.jpg (433x395, 84K)

>undubbed
Why do we have to deal with this? Why can't America be a civilized country and respect the creator's vision by leaving in the original voices? Also, not censoring the shit out of everything.

amazing game

>Recommending TwiLight Menu++ over a flashcart
>Those game recommendations
See pic related, he thinks you're basic.

Attached: 1556926848863.png (875x717, 654K)

Do you have to play the previous games to enjoy this one or is it like Pokemon?

my acekard broke and i can't be assed to order another one
it works good enough anyways

Has anyone managed to get Radiant Historia working with DLC?
