I address this poem for a game close to my heart, A game that was with me at all times, easy and hard, In me you fueled joy, anger and sadness alike, With countless hoovies, tryhards and children with mics, For every kill, every taunt and other times that I found fun, TF2, I wish for you the most intense and longest run.
can we all agree that weapons should be skill based, not luck based?
i.e. projectile based weapons need to be fucking removed from the game. no, you can't 'predict' the enemies movement, you can not see the fucking future. you're not a schizo, are you?
by using projectiles you are basically saying 'i can't point my crosshair directly on a moving target and click it, so i just shoot at random places, hoping for a lucky hit'. it's ridiculous.
>b-but i'm topfragging as soldier x))) i'm so skilled haha no, you are not 'skilled', you are a pathetic projectile spamming troglodyte. you're just very lucky, literally any newb could topfrag lobbies with projectiles. it has nothing to do with skilled usage of the weapons, good muscle memory or great reaction times, it is literally just a guessing game. i'd suggest you'd play the lottery and get rich if you're that lucky. just don't come complaining when you get wrecked by actually skilled hitscan engies or snipers.
the only reason projectiles are still in this game is valve's 'no kid left behind' mentality. they have to have some weapons for the bad players to feel good about themselves, so even the bad players (mostly soldier and demo mains) get to win from time to time and continue playing/buying hats.
>inb4 I CAN SEE DA FUTURE I SWEAR :DD prove your 'prediction skillz' and upload a 5 minute video where you do not miss a single rocket/pipe. i can almost guarantee you that your accuracy will hover around 50%, rather than 100%
She had a fantastic run, and even now has a steady 40k people playing it. With all the zoomers and kids too busy jerking off to Fortnite, this will be the game's height of decent quality. It'll always be a damn fine game.
Except for demoman and soldier. THOSE OVERPOWERED POS CLASSES SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO KILL MY BUILDINGS IN ONE HIT
Michael Wood
I want new weapons. I want new maps. I even want new good cosmetics. Post your ideas, Yea Forums.
Dylan Gonzalez
is there anything more pathetic than a soldier main? not only does he shit damage like there's no tomorrow, no, he also gets the biggest hitboxes in the game. and as if that wasn't enough, there's splash damage. oh wow yes you're so skilled with your splash damage and high damage when the enemy is grouped up. crit rockets are basically an instakill on any of the the classes that actually take some skill. why make it harder for the people that are already challenging themselves? seriously, soldier is THE fucking newb class. you couldn't make tf2 any easier if you've tried. at least the demos pipes have an arc, so it takes a bit of skill to hit them. and pipes don't fucking explode the second they hit a wall or some other shit.
hurr durr shoot in straight line aim at feet and splash + GIANT hitboxes take care of the rest for you. and then you get the best movement in the game and 200HP ON TOP OF THE CAKE.
how is this even fair? he has the most unlocks too, so he can be played by any drooling retard no matter the play style. faster rockets? ok. self healing ability? gotcha. le epic XD troll weapons? say no more. soldier is for you you fucking pathetic dullard newb shit. it's like the entire game was designed around this nooblord of a class. he can do any objective without any issues whatsoever. how bad do you even have to be to main such a stupid beginner class? but what REALLY grinds my gears is how soldier mains actually think they're skilled because they hit a lucky airshot
REMOVE CASUAL PUT CACTUS CANYON AND THE MOON MAP BACK IN VALVE SERVERS GIVE ME THE FUCKING COMIC LET THE COMMUNITY UPDATE THE GAME MAKE TF3 TAKE PLACE IN THE 90s
it's obvious why you can't votekick opponents, but damn, it's annoying when the other team won't kick hacking snipers with 4 times the score of the second in line. all you can do is disconnect and search for another match
It should ignite for max time and be unable to be doused by health kits. And if they're already on fire, it should add the 10 seconds to their remaining time. At least now it's good in Medieval.
Luke Kelly
>He'S nOt HaCkInG~
Fucking kids these days. I don't know if just the SEA servers that defend hackers, but its really fucking retarded how a spy can backstab people 5 feet away while facing the spy too.
Jason Allen
so has anyone figured out what triggers the badwater basin ghost yet
Hunter Diaz
Let us play Halloween maps on Full Moons and vote for them when an Eternaween is used. Move 2Fort Invasion and Probed to their proper places, add at least two new Medieval Mode and Special Delivery maps, reskin the Halloween Player Destruction maps, and give all three, and Arena, their own map category. Then move Standin with Snowplow and Hydro as Misc Control Points.
pyros, snipers, and spies seem to be the most obnoxious. people may include scout mains, but it's mainly the character of the class that's obnoxious.
Angel Allen
Singapore servers are fucked mate. No one pushes until the last second and there is usually 3 engis, cheaters are rare but never get kicked. Sydney servers seem to have more cheaters but they usually get kicked even if they were not obviously cheating
Dominic Rodriguez
>webm I have so many moments like this over the years I wouldnt bat an eye to that
Samuel Evans
>demo main >No sticky launcher is completely fine >DONT TOUCH IT IT, FUCKING SOLDIERS
Honestly though, the only really obnoxious main is that subset of engie main that plays like they're playing minecraft and yells at other people to protect their uselessly placed turret. Everyone else tends to be alright in relatively similar proportions
Jason Jones
This looks like the invisible player glitch, just open console and start recording a demo then stop. I think the command is literally "record [demoName];stop"
Asher Perez
Did someone created a crit hack? I been playing this weekend and I run into two demos that shot a crit pipe every two shots every time. Then I run int an engie doing that shit
Colton Perry
i think this particular webm was just lag, not a hack.
Charles Morales
they're not wrong about the sticky launcher being completely fine though. stickyspam isn't a problem, and is easy enough to work around, it's just that people will bitch about whatever kills them. only problem that stickies can present is by stacking demos since there will be so many fucking traps that it can be impossible to push, though it's really uncommon since there's not many times where there's more than 2 demos.
Isaiah Ward
Why did you stop playing jump maps? Servers are so empty now ;_;7
So I have been trying my hand at Trolldiering and realized I suck shit at rocket jumps. I can do like a chain of 2 and vertical wall jumps easily but rollouts, pogos, ramp sliding and sync jumping is a foreign concept to me.
Other than jump maps, any good maps to practice it on?
Logan Cox
if you want to practice actually useful jumps, i'd recommend jump_competitive to get into it youtube.com/watch?v=dc7qmgpwvRY if you want to play "actual games", i guess hightower is your best option.
Oliver Phillips
2nd from top right is a trap IIRC
Luke Moore
Invisible player bug isn't a hack, it just kind of happens sometimes, usually if you alt tab the game at the wrong moment. A good way to tell when it's happening is if your killcam goes somewhere seemingly random like in the webm.
Cheers, that looks like a fun map to practice on. Funny enough, Hightower is where I realized that my rocket jump skills are subpar.
Aaron Peterson
See I told you pyro takes skill
Michael Gutierrez
Was just playing casually a while ago, but then I died to the same hatless scout hunting me down and crit meatshotting me 6 times in a row before they left I haven't been the same since
>trapshit >furryshit bad >burn the quran >zap gay brains good
Dominic Stewart
This graphic is so so wrong.
Alexander Watson
i play tf2 because i like going on 30 ks as demoman on 2fort.
Daniel Bell
You will get one of those three and it ain't gonna be weapons or maps.
William Cruz
i've looked through my maps folder, other jump maps i'd recommend for practicing the basics (and a bit more) are the following (no particular order): jump_sketchy jump_sketchy2 jump_home_v2 (probably my favorite jump map) jump_beef jump_oats jump_adventure (for nostalgia's sake) jump_renard jump_elephant jump_4starters jump_eons jump_jurf jump_jurf2 jump_summer jump_beyond jump_tx jump_void jump_deserted (pogo only) jump_trix (freestyle jumping, probably great for trolldier practice) and whatever you do, never join a jump_bounce or jump_edgebug server.
>finished jump_it yesterday feelsgoodman I've also been trying my hand at airpogo on jump_jasmine. It's difficult, I hope I will get it down one day.
1) Download jump_academy2_rc7 on tempus.xyz/maps.tf 2) Put it in your tf/maps folder 3) Open console 4) type in "sv_allow_point_servercommand always" (should be in your config to begin with) 4) type in "map jump_academy2_rc7"
Do the courses in order, good luck.
Noah Hughes
>airpogo that's a never ever for me. i can't sticky jump at all. good luck though
Camden Murphy
because this user isn't up to the task I'll explain why >heavy lowest possible skill floor >being headshotted and backstabbed ad infinitum >medic second highest skill floor >picking the class to immediately win the game
Easton Ross
Anybody still have a download link to the map user made recently? How did it turn out?
Noah Jackson
Thanks, I can get past the first 4 jumps after a few hours. I think I'm shooting ymselfnin the foot by refusing to use speedo/thirdperson but I want to be able to do it in no matter the server. What about sniper having lower skill ceiling than goddamn pyro, engineer and fucking medic? That's just stupid man. You could make the argument for demo and soldier, but fuck all those other classes.
Nicholas Jenkins
>use direct hit rocket to airblast jump >while in the air reflect fully charged huntsman arrow to headshot speedjumping soldier >land behind heavy medic, puff n sting the medic, airblast heavy off cliff
>not the highest skill ceiling >b-but muh w+m1 meme video from 2007 >le c-tap mastering so difficult, much skill XD >point and click on heads monkey island style >oooohh running close to someone and epic meatshotting him in the back takes so much skill muh double jump >b-but muh aim muh meatshots XD >muh 6s
sorry homeboys, pyro has one of the highest skill ceilings. if not THE highest. that's why comp players rarely play him, he's too risky because he's so difficult to play
any rocket/sticky jump or airshot demo and soldier can do, the pyro can do as well. with stricter timing and only when the enemy allows it, meaning you have to react faster than when you can jump at will my dudes. all scout can do is pressing spacebar twice and spamming AD with his epic null-canceling script. that's all there is to scout movement. no rocket jumps, no pogo, no headshots, nothing. even fucking engineer offers more movement options with sentry jumps.
scout mains are almost as bad as soldier mains, get your head out of your asses. play some unreal tournament or quake and realize that your 'skill' is negligible, worthless scout mains. sniperfags are even worse, he has no movement abilities at all.
medic, demo and pyro are the only respectable classes.
>he honestly thinks pyro takes skill >when the average engineer player makes pyro mains look they have two collective braincells to share between them all
Who needs epitaph when you have D4C and just keep universe hopping?
Christopher Brown
I agree that people underrate Pyro's skill ceiling, but taking more skill than Soldier? The issue with those assumptions is that while properly reflecting projectiles perfectly probably takes more skill than shooting them in the first place, the opportunity to do so will never come, and thus, even in 99 out of 100 maps, a Pyro a bit less skilled than the top Soldier and a Pyro at the absolute peak will perform absolutely alike.
Brayden Baker
You are in denial, none of your arguments stand. I'm sorry furry main, you are and forever will be the lowest point of the game.
Logan Bailey
Airblasting people off cliffs is the easiest thing in the game and it cracks me up every time I do it Puff n sting is just an easier version of popup airshotting with soldier (still satisfying though) Rocket jumping with reflected rockets is basically never optimal and it's easier to just reflect the rocket back at them and follow it with a flare or whatever Reflecting arrows requires either a really shitty sniper or just dumb luck
Real satisfying skill based pyro plays come from on the spot thinking and chaining your options together on the fly without dying. Pyros actually optimal options are individually all pretty easy to do in a vacuum, but knowing when to do them and which to do with only a moment to think about it takes skill. Also shotgun kills where you out-aim other shotgun classes are pretty much strictly skill not accounting for random bullet spread
t. pyro main
David Torres
Is the guy in the webm cheating or is he incredibly skilled at hitting direct shots with the rocket launcher? I'm not sure here and the shitpost pasta doesn't help. You can never be too sure at how many levels or irony people are operating here nowadays.
Camden Smith
This is a stupid meme. TF2's community is overwhelmingly better than other vidya communities. The brony sector has even died off now. There are furfaggots but they're like 1 in 40 players. And the only reason it's noticeable is because people have more room to be expressive in TF2 through loadouts. If you have nohats mod and sprays disabled you won't even know furfags exist in TF2.
