Fuck you I liked it

It's a great game that had a lot of charm in its presentation and has the only good iteration of Wisps to date. Anyone who praises Unleashed and/or Generations and claims issue with Colors is full of it.
Brayden Butler
It was honestly okay. It was only meant to be a quick bandaid though with gameplay that was easy to not screw the fuck up. But it never should have become the main gameplay for every fucking Sonic game afterward.
Jaxson Bell
The DS version had the superior story for some reason.
Isaac Bennett
Different teams and developers entirely.
Ryder Cruz
The sonic rush team should of honestly made more mainline sonic games. They made the best version of unleashed.
Blake Nelson
I like all those 3. The storybook games were bad though
Asher Roberts
Jose Watson
Never said Unleashed or Generations were bad (Though I have some problem with Unleashed myself regarding the sheer amount of padding in the game) but rather that if someone liked those games it's downright baffling for them to somehow hate Colors. Which is surprisingly common, and I don't really understand it.
Caleb Moore
Wish they would announce a bundle with Unleashed, Colors, and Generations, but I guess they hate easy money
Ian Robinson
Colors is probably the least offensive modern Sonic game to date. Every other game shoves in padding and different play-styles and shit or has some sort of glaring flaws. Colors is pretty consistent throughout. The highs aren't as high as Unleashed or Generations, but there definitely aren't as many low points.
Gavin Morales
>superior story
>yet another super sonic finale against some monster
Honestly, Eggman being the main threat and having a plot that didn't rely on using the chaos emeralds to save the day was refreshing. I also like the fact that Eggman would have actually won if it wasn't for a complete fluke that Sonic didn't intend to happen.
Tyler Collins
I think those people expected Sega to stick to one formula, but obviously they weren't going to, knowing their past history.
If anything we should appreciate how Unleashed, Colors and Gens are good in their own way, because I don't know how Sega will unjust 3D Sonic at this point.
Matthew Williams
>Fuck you I liked it
And? A lot of people thought this game was fine. I think it's one of the best looking games on the Wii.
Nathan Bell
This is why I like it so much. It's a straight Sonic game through and through with none of the stuff that weighs down almost every other main entry in the franchise since Adventure.
Colors looks fucking fantastic for a Wii game and emulation only helps even more. The levels all have tons of detail put into them. Even past the visuals, there's also the charm of, say, Eggman's voicelines over the intercom that play during the levels.
Nolan Wood
Me too, man. I've been meaning to replay it for awhile now.
Sebastian Barnes
It's ok.
Adrian Barnes
>best version of Unleashed
While I would aggree with this, I wish the Wii version had the 360/PS3 levels that were cut-off. It would have been perfect
Jose James
>Colours
Caleb Walker
>The game with the most shitty 2.5D sections of all modern 3D sonics
>No padding
Yeah right
Luis Bennett
Same. I'll likely boot it up again to play Planet Wisp since thatstage is back in TSR though
Luke Roberts
>implying Generations and Unleashed don't have plenty of 2D sections
>implying that's somehow padding
Jose Peterson
The Wii version of Unleashed is pretty fucking boring. It lacks some of the problems the 360/PS3 version had but just isn't a very interesting game.
Carter Gonzalez
Best 3D Sonic game and should have set the standard for all Sonic games going forward instead of Generations or Unleashed
Nicholas Cook
We need a sonic rush 3
Jaxson Jenkins
The funny thing is that it kind of did, as Lost World tries to recapture the same spark Colors had and Forces tried to have elements of both Colors and Generations. Kishimoto worked on the Storybook games, Colors, Lost World, and Forces after all, hence why the latter 3 all share a similar final boss strategy.
Angel Cook
>the final boss thing
God I hate that they did that. The Nega-Wisp Machine was a really cool final boss and they proceeded to shit on it by just flat out copying it but worse to every game that followed.
Elijah Long
>Best 3D Sonic game
>it's a 2D game with 3D parts
Oliver Baker
Same, the original is still really fun to me but I'm not a fan of them reusing the same general design structure for the ones in Lost World and Forces.
Andrew Thompson
People hated Colors?
Easton Robinson
Nega wisp was cool as fuck but it lasted for wayyy too short, especially phase 2 which was the one with good music
Here’s hoping they bring it back in an hypothetical generation 2
Connor Hernandez
Assblasted unleashedfags on youtube
Just like SA2
Brandon Gomez
It's just as shit as Forces.
Jackson Russell
They're sour to it now because they've noticed its flaws and because they don't like its legacy (Wisps, more 2D sections than 3D, the current cast)
Kayden Young
Shut up, Pablo.
Charles Davis
Sonic Rush's clash scene was so iconic. I was mad that Blaze wasn't a boss fight in the 3DS version of Generations. Generations 3DS had so much potential.
Gavin Butler
>HD Remaster with 60 fps
Would you play it? Honestly, I'm surprised Unleashed, Colors, and Lost World didn't get hit with the Remaster bug.
Lincoln Hill
>Lost World on Steam
>But not Colors or Unleashed
it's weird
Ryan Jones
Are you saying Im wrong?
Wyatt Perry
Wisps being bad aren't part of Colors's legacy. Wisps were an excellent powerup system in Colors, but the way they were presented in every game afterwards was fucking awful.
Hudson Kelly
Wasted potential. Dimps could have made it be a celebration of their Sonic games as well as handheld ones in general, but ended up using mostly console exclusive stages. Imagine if they used the Advance/Rush games and the Game Gear Sonic games instead. We would have had more justification and incentive to get the 3DS version of Generations.
Yes I would, put it on Switch as well as PC and I'm sold.
Carter Taylor
I hated this one, even though I really wanted to like it. Just couldn't stand the fucking wisps, I just wanted to play a straightforward sonic game. Generations was god tier in comparison. I even liked Seven Rings more than Colors, despite the horrific controls.
Kevin Scott
I agree with that. The only game post Generations where I can get behind them is TSR since they aren't that intrusive. Would have preferred we got more wacky items based on other things in the series, but oh well.
Dylan Russell
Unleashed makes sense since it's one of the games Sega pulled from store shelves in order to improve the brand's reputation, and all of the recent fan wankery over it only started in the past couple years, so it not being high on Sega's priority list isn't a surprise. Colors' absence is definitely weird, though, considering it was received a lot better than Lost World, and yet we got a pc port of that instead.
At least Colors emulates really well.
Isaac Brown
It really either clicks or doesn't. The game wants you to take it slow at some sections to "solve" the level with the appropriate wisp color. if you want traditional Sonic gameplay then it definitely wasn't for you.
Samuel Peterson
>Just couldn't stand the fucking wisps, I just wanted to play a straightforward sonic game
Wisps are ignorable most of the time, though. All you really miss out on are some alternate paths and red rings.
Asher Long
It pisses me off every 3D game for years and years was just gimmick shit. Colors, Secret Rings, that Knight game, Unleashed, Lost World, etc. Every single one.
Only Generations, which was explicitly a throw back game, was actually grounded in the more normal gameplay and actually good. Even then the modern stages still had the boost shit from Unleashed, but overall it was still by far the best thing to come out in like the last decade.
Camden Taylor
The 2d parts were worse then the 3d parts in generations, though
same for colors
Jayden Gutierrez
If you liked Generations the most, there is a mod that imports maps from Unleashed. It doesn't have Eggmanland, boss fights or the DLC levels though.
Levi Rodriguez
A decent Sonic thread for once? I kinda missed these after Mania's dust settled.
Nathaniel Moore
>pff yeah I like sonic colors, I am just that much of a hardcore contrarian
go play secret rings and enjoy that, then you get your pat in the back. anyone can pick up and play colors
Henry Garcia
Thought the soundtrack to colours was amazing
