Kojima is the George Lucas of video games. People give Lucas credit for the best films which are unusually the ones he did the least on.

I've played and beat every MGS, although for some of them(MGS4) I really wish I hadn't.

I believe people who don't get Kojima can't see past his sensibilities in presentation and miss the underlying little sandboxes of consequence made out of attention to detail he enjoys creating.

Quite a few Japanese people pronounce R as L. The sounds are basically interchangeable to some, which is why they don't have both sounds in their language

Part of me likes Kojima because he's one of the few people in the video game industry who will run with an idea he has, no matter how good or terrible it is.
Another part of me realizes that Konami became extra shitty around the same time he became VP of it.
Overall I'm not a fan of him; but like others have implied, as long as he has someone to keep him in check, there's nothing stopping him from making something as good as MGS3 or ZoE2.
