You will never watch this trailer for the first time ever again

I was gonna kill myself after this game came out because the trailers looked so good for the series I grew up playing. I legitimately thought it would be so flawless that I could die happy. Obviously it wasn't, but I still should have killed myself because no game has come close to it. Hell, nothing has come close to the first Kaz mission in my life. I've fucked many women, gone skydiving, went on ill planned trips where I had to survive in decrepit cities or wilds, but none have given me close to the feeling of that first mission. I'm 23 and I should be dead.

I watched every MGSV trailer at least a hundred times each. My hype levels were beyond comprehension. Even after the disappointment of the final game these trailers still give me shivers. They were so motherfucking good.

I was just listening to Sins of the Father today at work.
Everything about the game pointed to it being good. Ground zeros was good, the trailers were good, the music was good, the story predictions were good. Why did Kojima listen to the movie meme faggots? People fucking love the cut scenes.

The game had more than enough cut-scenes for a satisfying and concise story, that wasn't the problem. The problem was that everything in the cutscenes were shit and the story was garbage and unfinished.

Let me put it another way, the game found ways to make the core gameplay engaging throughout its entire run-time (bosses with unique gimmicks, a plethora of different environments and tons of different enemies that look and behave differently). Phantom pain does the opposite where it stretches it's core gameplay as thin as possible across an ocean of meaningless boring padding with no variation whatsoever. It doesn't even have satisfying bosses which used to be a core aspect of MGS games.
