Game makes a item so good that it basically forces you to grind for it

T-Thanks Terraria..

What does it do?

It combines the effects of 10 different items, each of which is a rare drop from enemies scattered across the land.

>immunity to timestop
>immunity to poison
>immunity to weak
>immunity to fire blocks
>immunity to knockback

It's damn worth it though.

I like that about the game's progression systems, there are a couple accessories and items that are so ubiquitous that everyone shares the same experience with acquiring it
you could talk to anyone who played Terraria for more than a few hours and they'll have a story about the Ankh Shield or the Lightning Boots or the Terra Blade or whatever else comes to mind
if you actually like that experience try CalamityMod, the mod is filled with loads of massive tech trees that will take you an entire playthrough to finish

immunity to like 90% of debuffs, knockback, burning surfaces, and a little defense on top
basically an essential survival accessory

is that the one with all the embarrassing autismo music? no thanks

>autismo music
cringe my dude

just turn the music off and listen to whatever you want, that's what I did
it even comes without the music by default, because the collective file size of all of the original music is like three or four times the size of the mod itself

You think that's hard to grind for? The cellphone is hard to grind for.

It's fun to work towards though.
Unlike the Cell phone and the Lava Waders

>forces you
It's definitely an amazing item but you can easily clear all the content in the game without it so I think you misworded your OP

Do you still need to generate multiple worlds for it? I did that grind once and ended up spawning it in any time I played again, once I had around 50% of the required items
I'm still amazed at how much content they pumped into the game post release. I have a lot of love for terraria

Anybody want to make a lobby?

Cellphone is huge quality of life, but by no means essential. Any data you need you can have by sacrificing a couple inv spaces, and just use the magic mirror.
Lava waders are also debatable useful, aren't they completely replaceable with a waterwalking+obsidian skin potion?

REMINDER THAT CALAMITY IS MADE BY A DISCORD FAGGOT WHOS UNIRONICALLY A BRONY, PURPOSEFULLY RUINED ALL OTHER MOD SUPPORT, AND PUTS HIS OH SEA DOUGHTNUTSTEEL FAGGOTRY INTO THE MOD, DOESNT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE COMMUNITY, AND THINKS THAT NUKING THROWING SUPPORT AND CHANGING IT TO 'ROGUE' IS A GOOD IDEA

FUCK CALAMITY AND FUCK FAGSOL

But the Leviathan & Siren was pretty cool, you can't lie.

doesn't matter cause the mod is good
his reasoning for keeping the mod closed source is sound as well, assuming that's what you're referring to
it's more to protect his work and position as a developer rather than to hamper any other mod makers, considering he runs a patreon for development support

can I use both thorium and calamity mods at the same time?

you can but calamity is balanced in a completely different fashion from thorium
you're going to tear through thorium content using calamity gear exclusively, and you will practically never find yourself in a position to get a genuine upgrade from anything in the thorium mod

hmm, which one is the better/more fun mod then?

Depends on your idea of 'fun', but Thorium is far better-balanced and the bosses are less frustrating to fight.

just use the paladin shield if you don't want to farm for it

>grinding for it
I came across all the ingredients for it naturally without knowing the shield even existed and built it ez. Anyone else have the same experience?

calamity if you're a big fan of grinding endgame content and grinding through tech trees like the cellphone, ankh shield, lightning boots
thorium if you actually like the rest of the game too

>during my first playthrough i got to the cultist before i even knew this was a thing
I have no idea how i did that

Ankh shield is baby shit. If you want a real grind, play Fargo's mod.

redpill me on this mod, it just looks like a massive content infusion
