That's a good idea. What if they start the fs by starting where crash is looking and going up and down depending on the input, and whoever touches the beam is caught in it until the fs "ends", aka it has the conclusion which is that whirlwind thing they do around whoever was caught in the beam which then deals the killing blow?

I was thinking something similar to K. Rool and Mega Man, where he uses his jet pack to launch himself to the player and have Aku and Uka use the beams.

Never played Crash until getting the N Sane Trilogy very recently.
1 is okay but extremly fucky.
2 is flawed but overall had some of the best platforming I've ever played.
3 had some great platforming but also has way too many boring levels and I couldn't be asked to complete it.

Nitro and TNT boxes drop in random places, exploding on contact with opponents, otherwise sitting and either counting down to explosion (TNT) or exploding if anyone gets close (Nitro).
It'll be from the first game, definitely. Likely one of the jungle or temple stages because Sakurai loves making every stage in smash after world 1-1.
The stage's hazards should be various boss characters appearing on a platform in the immediate background and doing something.
-Pinstripe, fires bursts from his Tommygun at random people while laughing, sometimes the gun jams and he whacks at it a few times
-Koala Kong, throws boulders and pauses to flex every three rocks
-Ripper Roo, jumps into the foreground and hops on random spots turning them into TNT crates before detonating them
-Tiny Tiger, jumps into the foregorund and tries to jump on people, if he touches someone he punches them or stomps them onto the ground
-Dingodile, appears with his "Break out tha buttah, I'm gonna make toast!" line and alternates between raining fireballs down and firing his flamethrower at people
