I can't play with my shitty internet right now, but remember to use default_fov on the console! I usually go with 120 since it's the biggest it gets without warping your depth perception too much, but you can go up to 150. Even just 100 is better than the default 90 since you can see more.

So for Quake 1, to not get anyones hopes up. It's still a big maybe. People said they'd be interested but it all depends on if the person hosting actually wants to host.
If he says no, then i'll just announce it on Fridays TF2 thread. If we get no hosts for Sunday, then we'll just default down the Variety Night list to TF2 again, then L4D2, then HL1.

Realistically? We dont. However, because the TF2 vans are popular, it's a good way to shill for Sunday. It gets the threads bumped and gets people notified of what games are gonna be played. The problem arises when you try to host on a weekday, you need to get it early enough so people play, and late enough so people are off work. Plus, with how fast Yea Forums moves you need to have 5 other people constantly bumping your thread. Also, 24/7 servers die VERY fast with Yea Forums. So it's good to keep it confined to 1 or 2 days a week like what we do here on the weekend, which keeps people interested and coming back
