Horde may be "the bad guys" but they actually get tangible victories that matter in the game world and get to feel powerful at all.

War makes sense for RTS games, but for MMOs it makes no sense at all. MMOs are social games where people come together to overcome challenges, you can make a PvP-centric MMO but you really have to go all-in with the idea of a war going on and build it from the ground-up to be about PvP first and everything else second or never. WoW already missed that boat, it will never be PvP-centric, so to keep trying to put "the war in Warcraft", you're just pissing around and wasting time and effort that could be better spent on the aspects of the game people actually engage with.
