Switch aside, with the Vita officially becoming a “legacy” console, they have got to port 3 and 4 to current systems. Preferably FES/Golden, then a remake of 3 incorporating P3P elements. 3 and 4 already look fine upscaled to 1080 via emulation, with a few tweaks they’d be fine.

Vita was actually the last console that actually feels like a Japanese console. Mostly due to the amount of Japanese RPGs.

PS4 JP store nowadays actually have more western games on sale than JP ones. The first few pages especially.

The one thing that Vita got was a constant streams of JRPGs, something that current consoles don't have anymore. Keep in mind that many of them were new IPs too; that's where things like SaGa Scarlet Grace, Caligula, Tokyo Xanadu, Digimon, Labyrinth of Refrain etc came from. And a particular feat is they all hit more than 30k sales, some even in the 50~100k range.

Back then even lower level companies like Nipponichi and Compile Heart can essily fetch 30~50k sales since the user pool is a bunch of RPG autists. Nowadays they can't even fetch 10k sometimes on PS4/NSw.

With the Vita dying it's pretty much the end of mid tier JRPGs.

There's still Labyrinth of Galleria and the new Exp DRPG. Hopefully I can still get Anonymous;Code on it, should be out this year.

majority if the shadows had their weakness's changed to be easier in early game. Same with bosses. Best example is Yukiko's shadow. Alot of spells had sp reductions so you can use more of them such as megadolan. Some characters are now even more broken like Naoto.

As for missing effects it's most note able in the same dungeon as khanji's shadow

man, all the handheld posting is making me sad. 3ds developed that shutdown into popping noise issue, so after looking into it I tried to reseat the ribbon cables since that was the only fix.

I repair consoles from time to time so it was no biggie until putting everything back; the last ribbon cable was the circle pad, and it's latch for the cable port just crumbled into 4 pieces when I went to seat the cable.
