Mass Effect, obviously. To fully enjoy Mass Effect you need to read all the codex entries, it makes the world feel a lot more alive and fleshed out, you will know what people are talking about and understand the alien cultures/planets/technology/governments. Mass Effect 1 is still incredible, after that point you're already hooked and the shortcomings of 2 and 3 aren't so bad

Without mods it's as bad as New Vegas is on console
