Just got this on Switch, what am I in for lads?

Wolves hunt in packs.

'Tis weak to fire!

Bones.
Walking bones!

A very fun video game.

I'm addicted to playing this.

this

>switch version
yikes

The wind pushing you.

should i minmax? not op

I made it to the missions where you have to deliver the hydra head then got bored. Does the game get any better?

Attached: 20180722144808_1.jpg (1920x1080, 200K)

>Got bored after 20min of play
user...

The wind isn't pushing anyone except for original Dragon's Dogma owners.

>20 minutes of play
It was longer than that. I finished that mission and explored a little bit too but it all felt very monotonous.

the combat will. Just don't forget to change vocations once you've done with the previous ones. Honestly, the ending is kinda worth it.

hydra head escort is the worst quest in the entire game
it gets fun when you can fight big monsters

No, unless you're a retard and knowing you have sub-optimal stats will ruin the entire game for you like me.
If you have it on PC just edit the values to get the correct stats without having to play in an annoying, awful way.

>got this literally at midnight when it released
>been playing ever since
>level 47
>rift already filled with level infinity pawns
Am I slow or are these guys really rushing through the game?

Reminder Dragon's Dogma Online is NEVER coming to the west.

Attached: Dragons-Dogma-Online2.jpg (620x350, 55K)

Jesus, you must have a short attention span. I finished the hydra mission, packed out of Gran Soren without doing the next main mission and ran around to the west exploring. Got my ass kicked by a drake and killed everything else

shota pawns

Any pawn wearing the queen's regalia is getting Sent Away.

In all fairness I was tabbing in and out a lot. I'll give the game another shot.

you can abuse the game in multiple ways to gain basically infinite xp
they rush to bitterblack isle to kill death and get 999999 xp then reset the progress by swapping to hard to normal to hard and repeat

I just explored the two bandit camps, fed a cyclops, and recovered that tome. I think I'm finally ready to see what these wyrm hunts are about. When do I get more port crystals?

I don't blame you.
The Hydra mission is incredibly fucking boring.
The game is good over all but it starts out in an absolutely terrible way. The combination of a bunch of awful quests and a lack of any decent skills or abilities puts off a lot of people right from the beginning.

Dont start certain quests unless you're sure can complete them right away. Several are timed

What's up with all those dragon's dogma shill thread

Why is the pop in so bad in the Switch version? Was it always like this?

Those DLC outfits were the worst possible addition to the game. 90% of pawns all look fucking identical because of it and have pretty much the same stats, it really takes all the fun out of what should have been a fun and interesting aspect of the game.

Switch port came out a week ago.

You were fooled by Yea Forums the game is shit and I will explain why:

>No indication of where roads lead
>No hint to what enemies are weak to
>No hint of when enemies are alone or in groups
>No warning to avoid status effects
>No clue to which items are masterworks

I don't know how people defend this game.

They're weak to fire and they hunt in pack

They're rushing, ignore them. Levelling up too fast means they won't get any RC.

They're weak to fire I told you

It gets better. The first 3 hours or so are the worst part of the game. Then it gets really fucking good and then its over.

really?

It gets really good when you can buy some better skills and have some general idea about when to use them. Similar to playing low-level DMC with barely any moves compared to lategame when you can fly around shitting out meteors, perfect parrying bosses and charging ground shaking moves.
Also witch best waif

For those who have finished the game and BBI. Is it possible to have fun if you only play as a fighter for the whole game? I remember playing the game on PS3 a while ago trying to role play as a fighter (with a fighter pawn as well), and at some point I was on the road and I couldn't fight ghosts or whatever because lolmagickonly. Then I stopped playing. Now that I have the game on PC I want to try again.

So if I'm a sorcerer and my pawn is a ranger, I'll only get yellow or blue BBI items when I purify?

the witch makes potions, all your waifu does is embarass her nation

MASTERWORKS ALL

The road splits here. Let's be doubly sure of which will lead us to our destination.

Attached: cats.jpg (1200x1000, 165K)

you will retract those words ser

Yea, for example, the Quina quest where she heads to Witchwood. If you dont do it in time, she dies

you're just jealous of her raw charisma.

Attached: 1556915995579.png (1800x2545, 3.63M)

Else suffer what consequence?

which is a bit of trick quest at that as to get there, you will need to go past a bunch of heavily overleveled bandits

It's less that they're timed and more that certain main line quests, once started or completed, will cancel out some quests that haven't been finished. The game is meant to be replayed several times through New Game+ so don't worry too much about missing quests or items.

Attached: 30840707_p0_master1200.jpg (800x800, 409K)

I truly wonder if anyone successfully completed that quest without spoilers their first try

You also need to head back to Cassardis first to actually accept the quest even though the guy who gives it to you came to see you at the Encampment to let you know he was looking for her.

BLOODY HUMAN

is it viable to earn RC completely offline? every once in a while an enemy will randomly drop some but its not nearly enough, same with RC earned for missions

(Am I to die?)

You get a lot of RC in the dlc area or get a mod that makes RC drops and rewards manageable

This game has the best magic out of any game period

any other games where I can go traveling a land a create not just my character but an AI follower?

Is Frigor any good of a spell? I tried it and it barely does any damage at all, and the platform breaks at the drop of a hat. I've even tried to use the platform as a stepping stone in some tar pits and I fell right fucking through it. What is the point of this spell?

based ADHD user. gotta zoom fast.

Absolute pleb. Dragons dogma is a game for thinkers, this isn’t fucking casual souls where the game holds your hand with directions on everything.
GIT GUD

That WHY you dont accept then quest until you're ready

Stop!

Attached: 1337285531491.png (400x400, 39K)

how well does it run on the switch? I might just have to buy it a 4th time so I can play on the go

pretty good at 30fps with a lot of pop in.

If you're playing on PC there's a nifty mod that makes the spire last longer. Makes using it as a platform a lot more fun. If you're not just upgrade to Gicel.

Hows this game like kinda gives me the witcher feels (in a good a way) but some people compared it to a souls game?

I've only played handheld so far and it runs fine. There is very noticable pop-in for trees & objects, but enemies render far enough away that you're never blindsided by them. All in all it has some issues but nothing major to detract from the experience.

I’m the level 47 guy, I only have 40k RC, seems nobody wakes my pawn.
Unless I have to be online for anyone to see it, I play offline because the loading on rest is annoying and the game disconnects when I put the switch on sleep anyway.

Attached: CAAB3CD1-E4F9-4F94-8691-7546FB8FA207.jpg (1280x720, 276K)

Reminder that its super easy to get up and running anyway.

Resting is what updates your pawn in the rift. If you dont connect when you rest, your pawn will be whatever its info was last you DID connect

do you wanna use my 138 pawn user, Ill use yours for rc in return.

Attached: 1500s_map_of_the_world_0.jpg (4000x3056, 2.47M)

Accessing the server when resting at an inn is how you update your pawn and receive any rewards they've collected. You don't have to do it constantly but do try to do it every now and then. I do the same thing on Switch, just turn online back on before resting at an inn and sit through the server access. I usually do that when I'm about to put the game down which ends up disconnecting when I pick it back up.

>Platinumed the game on ps3
>Platinumed the game on ps4.
What more do you want from me, Capcom?

Attached: Dragon's Dogma_ Dark Arisen_20171029203544.jpg (1920x1080, 231K)

The problem I have is convincing people to play it. My main reason for wanting to play is because it's basically DD with multiplayer, not much reason to play if you don't have anyone to play with.

Attached: 1442757879105.jpg (488x413, 69K)

there’s no way I can afford a 138 pawn with 40k RC though

What are the most fun skills for Assassin? I want to do lots of dodges and countering.

Friend Pawns are free of charge, no matter how high their level is.

if your friends with someone on pc you can rent them out for free, I just realized you were playing on switch feelsbad

Attached: black_hole.jpg (700x700, 209K)

Clarity/Clairvoyance is pretty sexy for counters, but that's a sword skill. Daggers on the other hand have dodge rolls and double jumps and lots of dashing and tumbling moves.

I've played through the game as a warrior and assassin. I tried playing a bit of Sorcerer but it feels rather boring in comparison, does any other class compare or should I just replay as one of those again?

>keep hearing about DD having “the best magic ever” for years
>finally give in
>it’s boring flashy shit and you literally just stand in one spot charging spells the whole time
>no utility spells, just shitty elemental damage, healing and buffs/debuffs

>Yea Forums tells me MA is amazing fun
>shitty homing pewpew arrows and literally just lighting yourself on fire and hugging enemies

>meanwhile the one class that actually shines in the game is the one everyone shits on
Daily reminder Yea Forums is lame and gay.
Strider is also good though

not seeing enough pawns in this thread

Attached: Dragon's Dogma_ Dark Arisen Screenshot__3.jpg (1920x1080, 343K)

There are utility spells on MA like the shackle, for sorcerer Miasma slows, there is also the frigor which creates an object they have to run around and a place your pawn can jump off and air attack from.

>I tried playing a bit of Sorcerer but it feels rather boring in comparison
Really? I've heard sorcerer was very fun and I was about to give it a try

Reminder that warrior class long sword fags are brainlets and shegoat is the worst waifu

Attached: Griffith and the band of hawks laugh at you.jpg (693x535, 201K)

>I’m gay btw

I still need some lads on pc to add me for my pawn, his name is ardent big warrior guy

Attached: IMG_20190412_220756.jpg (1024x1002, 88K)

It's fun once you get a group of sorcs for spell syncing, but it's definitely a slog to get to Rank 6.

Attached: Quad Grand Seism 3.webm (720x410, 2.88M)

The hydra head delivery is the only quest I hated. It really picks up after that.

>Wyrm hunt quests
>you don't hunt any wyrms
OH NO NO NO NO

that thing is a male?!

Well its janky mess anyways. I played it for almost 100 hours and the few moments of enjoyment were not worth the absolute SLOG that is everything beside the boss battles in this game.

I passed the time waiting for the caravan by smashing my loli pawn's head into the rocks.

Attached: _101806114_hi047107102.jpg (660x371, 61K)

I play it anyway. Made a qt trap pawn, keep bathing with her(him) and jacking off

second form daimon is unironically shit
looks dumb as fuck
no kino battletheme like the first time you go through the empty city
randomized enemies in the city wym wyrm wyvern and triple armour

A shitty ripoff of Monster Hunter which is now outdated since MH is popular in the west now

Demon’s souls was a shitty ripoff of MH and Berserk, DD is DS but better in every way.

Just grab onto the cow and let your pawns handle it. Best way to travel

Jesus...

I'm glad EGS is making you fags seethe by buying exclusives.

I really do love the Novice's Coat. Hope that if we do end up getting a DD2 that it'll incorporate DDO's glamor system.

Attached: 2016-01-16_00017.jpg (1920x1080, 333K)

What’s an EGS

>No indication of where roads lead
All roads lead to Gran Soren.
>No hint to what enemies are weak to
Tis' weak to fire!
>No hint of when enemies are alone or in groups
Wolves hunt in packs!
>No warning to avoid status effects
Take care you aren't soaked in water!
>No clue to which items are masterworks
They're masterworks all, you can't go wrong.

The trillion eliminators made me lol. I stood there in a crowd of them spamming dragon's maw and I kept getting put down by their grab attack, but none of them could hit me because I kept getting pushed out of the way.

level?

>level 50, time to see what this Bitterblack Isle is about
>mimic thing
>oh that wasn’t so bad
>giant skelly
>ok, that was easy
>giant cyclops with like 11 bars

What level is this shit meant for?

Epic game store probably

Post-dragon is a good bet. You can reliably do the earlier levels at like 30 though.

>giant chained up enemy
>obviously powerful and has a ton of HP
>doesn't respond unless you deliberately provoke it with several attacks
Hmm... I wonder if you're supposed to ignore it and explore the rest of the area? It's almost like they intentionally made it that way!

It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. You can just kick the ox to make him go faster.

AS I WANDER COLD AND IMMANE

You have to give his level and actual name.

>shitty melee dudes too
>death spawns on top of that

>who plays action RPGs to not fight enemies?
You're retarded and the reason why games are so casualized today.

If I'm going to be playing a Mystic Knight arisen, would my pawn be better off as a Fighter, rather than a mage/sorc?

Should I play an adult male character with loli pawns or a full on loli party?

loli arisen with amazon pawn

Loli with a full party of adult males.

All good things that need to make a comeback, but I guess that was your point additionally to getting

>The double giant gorecyclopse in the goblin castle postgame.
How the fuck are you supposed to kill those?

i would 100% if not for the get 350 equipment trophy.

I didn't even know that was a trophy, must have been a really easy one to get then.

>durr fighting hard bosses is casual
>hurr avoiding boss fights is hardcore gaming for hardcore gamers such as myself
Fuck off, faggot

Fuck you and your level scaling obsessed ass.

This pasta is getting stale.

MA CHADS WW@

oh is it really only in the original? that's fucked up

138 warrior, has wolf hat, big boi

in the pc version atleast, you need to get 350 pieces in total of weapons and armor.

Glamour is really mandatory. I refuse to use the Hellfire helm because I don't want to look total edgelord, but the stats are so good.

not really
I mean it's a fantastic song that really gets the blood pumping, but the new song is a lot more fitting especially when you hear the remix during the final fight
one door closes, another opens

Yeah, it's not in any version of Dark Arisen except if you mod it in for PC.

Literally what the fuck are you even saying you dumb nigger?
There’s no scaling in DD. Hence “what level is this meant for”, you stupid fucking retard.

He also has scather and pioneer inclinations so
138
Ardent
Warrior

Been playing on the PS4 version recently, haven't played since my four runs of Dark Arisen on the PS3 many years ago. I love how I can actually see the action instead of the letterbox mess it used to be. My complaint is that masters still have their pawns use the dlc items and have loli and shota pawns. I need broad shouldered men of a decent height with diverse vocations to choose from! How can I give you each 50 greenwarish, potent greenwarish, musshrooms, and large mushrooms if you're a midget? Also Daimon's bossfight was more exhilirating than I remember on hard mode. I made my pawn my big bro and he's a paunchy fuck who doesn't like to recover his stamina with mushrooms and takes all the items. He started dashing when Daimon used that rift punch move and got sent back to the rift for the first time . Felt like a manga seeing that happen and it made me truly appreciate the moments the expansion can make.

DD2 when....

Just looked it up and it's in the other versions too.
It's there. I got it before I even tried NG+ apparently.

In 3 years.

a mediocre to bad game with good combat. It has the worse fast travel system I've ever seen, boring copy pasted dungeons, paws repeating the same lines a thousand times over and over again and a shitty romance system.
This game is such a wasted potencial, i hope if itsuno does the sequel that he can fix the problems and improve it.

Attached: 1552680492834.jpg (849x957, 339K)

No, they aren't quite right. There are several quests that can't be started after you get to certain points in the game. If you already started them once you get there, but haven't finished them yet, they will insta-fail. This is probably why user thinks you only have a limited amount of time to do them. You can actually take as long as you want for each quest, so long as you don't trigger the event that locks them out. It's kind of a lot to keep track of, and a guide really helps if you want to 100% the game, but a good rule of thumb is just to do as many side quests as you can before advancing the main story at any given point. If you do miss one or two, though, don't worry about it too much. That's what NG+ is for.

It's an RPG that gets most RPG elements flat-out wrong but is 10/10 in various other areas, and I suppose I love it because I'm usually not into RPGs so everything it fucks up is not something I usually care about. It's such a weird game, but it got fucked extremely hard in terms of cut content. BBI itself is miniscule in size compared to what was cut from the planning phases of the original game.

You were supposed to fight Grigori on the Moon. THE FUCKING MOON.

Attached: 1462290243988.jpg (260x260, 24K)

DMC5 did very well so I imagine cashcom won't mind allowing Itsuno to do DD2. It will probably be years to wait still though, but I'm at least very confident we will see it eventually rather than a big maybe.

Much as I love some of the changes to combat the grindy mmo bullshit makes it pretty unfun.
Triangle attacks that are actually good is rad though. 4 skills on a warrior and the triangle attack is replaced with Arc of Fuckshitup? Sign me up for that shit. Just not for $17 a month.

No, you're retarded. The prisoner gorecyclops is an obvious outlier that you're not meant to fight your first time through BBI. It's massive health pool, high damage, and the fact that it ISN'T AGGRESSIVE all make this blatantly obvious. That's how the developers tell you "don't try to fight this guy yet" while teasing what waits further in the dungeon. But here's your retarded ass that doesn't stop to think beyond "ME SEE ENEMEY ME KILL WTF ME DIE NOW COMPLAIN ON Yea Forums"

I'm not that user, but when I went there recently one of my pawns kept attacking one of them until it got loose and I only won thanks to having that maker's finger arrow, so you can't always ignore it

Attached: best pawn.jpg (1425x1425, 1.09M)

Found him at 139.

Attached: DDDA 2019-05-05 05-15-42-00.jpg (1600x900, 250K)

Good body, bland as fuck face.

my bad, been playing a bit you can add me if you want to

>garbage overworld and storyline
Why do you say this? I think the overworld could certainly use some improvements but it was fairly good, you're able to really do quite a bit of exploring and discover different resources/monster spawns/quests/etc.

I think the story is passable other than a few annoying parts, the Aelinore questline was fucking dumb and getting FOURNIVAL'D as your beloved, and made a decent vehicle for the gameplay and mechanics.

I've been playing again recently on the 360 and it just makes me want to build a PC that can handle it well since the servers are offline for the 360 and game-generated pawns are incredibly shitty.

What is DD2 even going to be about?
as at the end of 1 The dragon, previous Seneschal and arisen are all dead there's not much to expand upon story wise from the first game. Unless DDO online adds something I don't know about or They build upon the fact that Seneschals were just administrators in medival courts and not the highest ranking posistion, meaning there are higher level beings/deities in DD's world

No

I personally think the "most fun" is the fighter and warrior but they get shit on in too many combat situations for me to recommend but clearing BBI content with a big dick warrior bullying eliminators is fucking great.

Sorcerer is pretty damn fun for a magic-spell based class but wasn't really my thing.

Ranger/Strider is damn fun too since you're never really useless and have some OP augment/item combinations.

Magick archer is really fun but not for leveling unfortunately due to shitty stat gains which become less important later on, you have a lot of interesting tools that other classes simply do not.

There is more than 1 arisen in the world, so I'd imagine one may turn into something worse than damon. And become the big bad. Or a kingdom resurects the dragon starting the cycle once more.

There are also smaller dragons so one may grow up or something

>Exequy can destroy metal golem amulets
Well color me surprised

Dragon comes back, because Grigori is the same dragon Savan fights in the prologue
As for the Seneschal, I always thought that the Arisen stabbing themselves with the Godsbane was necessary to fully become Seneschal and continue the cycle, as you don't have full Seneschal powers before that, and the previous one pulls a Godsbane out of their own chest, suggesting they stabbed themselves too.
Lesser dragons are other arisens that died, the ones that speak english pretty much say that

Even if your dumbass tries to fight it you should realize pretty quickly that you're in over your head and retreat and then next time you're there leave it the fuck alone.

The whole game is basically training for you Grigori fight and multiple times NPCS tell you you're not ready for him as you are in the game, it should be basic logic that there are some enemies that are too much for you at certain times, like the drake in devilfire grove, if you meet up with it unexpectedly around level 20-30 you're going to get your shit shoved in.

Running is always an option, moron.

Fair point, but it can't imagine they'd use the "arisen goes and fights the dragon then becomes god" plot line again, because frankly that'd be a bit boring

you can use your pawn commands to get your pawns to fuck off from the cyclops too, just sayin.

I understand the lesser dragon being dead arisens, but what would happen if you used a wakestone on one? Would it start the cycle once more? Ressurecting both the big boi and the arisen?

Your Arisen really was a sweet guy too. The pawns swear eternal fealty to you, and when You win against the dragon they don't mind being with the Arisen as the Seneschal's comrade/buddy when he gets lonely as needs to talk to someone. Your Arisen decided it'd be better for your pawn to experience life and bring him back down to the world. Meeting Selene had a big impact on the goodfisher.

Imagine if this game had invasions similar to Dark Souls

Attached: 1548472320629.jpg (910x1024, 99K)

Nice. Any more pawn designs? I remember spending way too much time building both the main character and pawn.

>In BBI
>Suddenly a group of 4 Corrupted Pawns appear
>They're actually a live player and his three pawns who is seeing you and your party as corrupted on his end

Attached: 1555212593732.gif (400x225, 817K)

Exequy can destroy the metal golem itself if you're enough of an absolute madman to hold the circle on him for about 2-3 minutes.

t. absolute madman

it would be fuckong terrifying yi be invaded by a sorcerer. Unless you could locate where the sigil is being cast from you'd be fucked. Hell sorc magic would zone everything not strider archer or assassin

wouldn't work, any PC's playing as Ranger get a huge advantage in just being able to tenfold fury for huge dmg and huge stagger.

>in BBI
>I'm a MA

Attached: 1554804508886.jpg (1600x900, 58K)

I feel like Magic would probably shit on them, just richochet shot from behind cover lmao

The netflix series of DD that's being made has the arisen fight several demons that represent the sins like greed, lust, wrath, etc. So the possible DD2 may be about demons this time around so still DD, but Demon's Dogma.

Is this one of those games that's better played with a controller?

>Grigori is the same dragon Savan fights in the prologue
No he's not.

it's a 3rd person action game so leaning more into controller, but try both and decide for yourself

>Arisen, I am attempting to scale the beast and strike from above, but I am dummy thick, and the aught of my asscheeks is exciting the Ogres. 'Tis a troubling foe.

nah

That would be a level beyond cancer, there would be no counterplay.

Attached: 1550621343423.jpg (464x618, 53K)

I find it preferrable, but its up to you

Same look, same voice
Dark Arisen shows that dragons have different voices, as Dragon Grette sounds like her

It works fine on both, but keyboard takes a good while longer to get used to.

It works very well on a controller but Mouse control may be preferable for Yellow vocations if you're used to aiming with one.

I love how people are STILL figuring out things about this game after all these years.

Irrelevant since the ending where you turn into a dragon has you looking identical to Grigori. It doesn't make any sense for it to be the same exact dragon.

>BBI version
>>Arisen, I am attempting to scale the beast and strike from above, but I am dummy thick, and the aught of my package is exciting the Ogres. 'Tis a troubling foe.

I think that's just an overlooked mistake by the dev's since BBI was created as an afterthought. I can't remember where but I think there's some conversation somewhere that implies that every grigori is a different arisens pawn but they all look/sound the same.

Then where does a Seneschal get their first Dragon? Arisens don't exist without a Dragon first, and Dragons are made by Arisen dying against the Seneschal. Bringing back the Dragon they beat to find someone equal to or better than them is the only thing that makes sense.

Everything about the cycle (Grigori, The Duke, The Seneschal, and Daimon are all great characters once you learn about them) and everything about Mercedes are really well-executed. Everything else is bog-standard and occasionally just plain bad (like the Duke's shit wife). Some of the NPCs are charming if you listen to each of their spiels in full once and then skip them later on; Madeleine, Ser Max, Barroch, etc.

>seneschal
>the steward or major-domo of a medieval great house
>a governor or other administrative or judicial officer
he's just middle management

>Strength in numbers arisen
>A weakling in numbers is a weakling still
Explain this one Capcom

Failed Arisen from another world.

Why does everybody praise the combat? It's kinda bad honestly

You are bad lmfao

Seneschal isn't an all-powerful or even creator or anything of the sort.
He's middle management, like a human-turned-angel who watches over the realm/plane DD takes place in

Epic

We are never getting a Dragons Dogma 2 are we? I Imagine Capcom don't see the purpose now that Monster Hunter is so huge everywhere

The Seneschal is shown literally creating life you mong.

"Just as the Arisen calls pawns into being and sets them to motion, the Seneschal holds dominion over all living things."
Explicitly stated and shown to create life

They cant make a sequel because the ending would be the exact same as the first game

what was the point of making DD if MH existed in the first place then?

I mean creator as in "creator of everything", like a christian notion of the term.
Seneschal is the guardian of the world and in that role very very powerful, but we're never shown them creating everything, nor is that implied AFAIK

Is the MMO canon? Where does it take place? When does it take place?

Do you need nintendo's paid online to rent pawns/have your pawn rented?

Dude he literally creates copies of you

no

dude you're literally missing the distinctions being made

Yeah but it stemmed from your poor choice of words.

oh shit might buy a switch now

And that shows he created everything how?
Besides, canon wise the current Seneschal 100% isn't, since he's Savan, who obviously existed after creation.
And the he even says "There are those who would call such a being Maker, or God. I cannot deny the claim, any more than affirm it." We don't know who created the world, if it even was created

Does increasing the bust slider also increase character weight?

Which is why is a valid criticism/point.
is not because the meaning/use was already explained, and what you said does not fit into that meaning. And it's not a poor choice of words, it's a theological term as well.

adds a pound at max, if i recall correctly. The biggest ones look dumb anyway tho, and if you need to shift weight between weight classes slightly, you'll be better off with torso and leg adjustments.

Not that any of that matters, I suppose. You'll probably dress everything in thongs and think being 95% naked looks better than having an actual sense of style.

I meant the meme lines from NPCs, wolves and masterworks and all that, not the relevant NPCs

>it's a theological term as well.
And a proper noun. There's a big difference between the Creator and a creator. Since the Seneschal is the literal creator and driving force of all life in the world, it'd be fair to claim it is both a creator and even all-powerful.

but the title "Seneschal" is literally a stand-in while the true lord is away, and there's no way they're dumb or careless enough to use that title without knowing what it means. the current one doesn't know anything about a creator god either, which supports the idea that there's just one long chain of stand-ins keeping watch until the true god returns. if ever.

this was just my impressions, but it seemed as though this was meant to be either a big sequel hook or shit that would have gotten expanded upon in the game that itsuno was hoping to make. as it is there's just leftover fragments implying a bigger picture.

My only issue with the vocation system is you cant carry over skills after you've mastered a vocation unless the new vocation supports it too.

I just wanna use Lycean Sight to sniper shit as a sorceror

I'm still going on about your poor choice of wording.
Considering all the talk about wheels and cycles there's no real answer and hopefully they'll be smart enough to stay away from trying to explain everything.

that's a bow exclusive skill

>you forgot to capitalize this word so that means your point is invalid
Ok fag
> the literal creator ...of all life in the world
That's never ever shown, and when asked about that the Seneschal neither confirms nor denies it, that's pure speculation
>all-powerful
Absolutely not, if that was the case then that would render the entire reason for the game's plot pointless, since the Seneschal would have no reason to be replaced if they could undo the the reason for it. Moreover, they tell you "We are prisoners of unpassing time, wandering an unending land. What lies beyond, we cannot know." A being with such limits cannot be considered all powerful in any respect.

i wasn't part of that chain, that was my first post. either way, they'll expand on it in 2 (if it ever happens) or they won't and we'll be left to theorywank forever.

or the netflix adaptation could take a big giant lore shit all over everything, who knows.

And it's weird that for some reason, you change vocation and somehow suddenly forget everything you mastered of a previous.

They already called the DDO team back to work on it

Cool arisen user

Attached: 20181011033437_1.jpg (1920x1080, 427K)

Started playing not too long ago and theres so many skills, what are the must have for strider and fighter? Also, should i promote at vocation rank 9 or sooner?

Brainsplitter + Leaping stone combo for Strider and Stinger and Full Moon Slash or Dragon Maw for Fighter

Creator with a capital C and creator with a lowercase C mean two completely different things, ya dummy.
Just because something is or was all-powerful doesn't imply that they'll always remain so.

>Also, should i promote at vocation rank 9 or sooner?
Whenever you feel like it. You can always switch back.

>Creator with a capital C and creator with a lowercase C mean two completely different things, ya dummy.
That doesn't negate the point, particularly since it was later explained which one was meant. If that wasn't the case, you'd might have a point, but it was explained that the former, not the latter was meant.
>Just because something is or was all-powerful doesn't imply that they'll always remain so.
A) yes it does. All powerful beings have limitless power, meaning even if they were to lose some power, there would always be more. The infinite can not become finite with out a fundamental change in nature, and if such a change were to occur, then it would cease to be what it was and become something else
B) doesn't matter, the Seneschal clearly states some things are beyond their power, meaning they're not in fact all-powerful

>All powerful beings have limitless power
Read up on your definitions dumbo.

Attached: Capture.png (302x200, 8K)

Unfortunately, there is no google dictionary screenshot that will improve your reading comprehension. Only time and more reading will do that.

>noooo i'm not using words wrong u just don't understand them!
If you don't have an argument then don't respond.

>al·might·y
>ADJECTIVE
>having complete power; omnipotent.

>om·nip·o·tent
>ADJECTIVE
>(of a deity) having unlimited power; able to do anything.

>unlimited power
Get fucked

But sure, for sake of argument, let's just go off the first and also assume there exists finite power. This raises an issue, what made the power in the first place? Is the power to make power not within the domain of "complete power"? How then can it be said to be complete?

>accuses others of using words wrong
>utterly ignores the second half of the definition, which in fact does show all-powerful means unlimited/limitless power
kek, you retard

Too bad my screenshot doesn't make any mention of omnipotent. Just look at the example listed. What kind of a moron would say "an omnipotent dictator"?

Look, more reading. Are you feeling it now, mr krabs?

Hello bros, I just got into the postgame everfall, should I farm here or should I do this first and then move up to farming and completing BBI?

>tfw no DD2

the everfall stuff was the best until the dlc was added so it'll make BBI easier if you have trouble with it

Fuck you, the handler isn't ugly

>Too bad my screenshot doesn't make any mention of omnipotent

>mentions almighty
>a word which means omnipotent

>inb4 hurr durr it doesn't mention omnipotent directly so therefore it doesn't count
>what is transitive relations

Farm the bosses there for wakestones, sell the wakestones for money to buy the gear you cant find you and your pawn then hit BBI.

or you can just be nofun and go straight to BBI because the gear there is superior when you run through it, but Id imagine your level is too low at the moment to fully complete BBI

I think my dogs have down syndrome

Attached: 20190504191807_1.jpg (1920x1080, 229K)

Oh no bro, you've completely failed to pick up syllogistic logic.

I loved this game when it first came out on the triple and didn't play Dark Arisen. How does it run in handheld mode.

>warrior

Yeah that's your head when I dome you with a Eminence'd jumping attack you little bitch baby

Divinity

>M*gic users or R*nged classes

Attached: get_the_cross_7.jpg (480x712, 18K)

It's legitimately the part I dread the most every time I do another story loop. Rest of the game, you can just move at your own pace, but this one time, you're chained to these slow-ass NPCs.

I'd only farm Everfall if there is any specific armor pieces you really like. Otherwise, the weapons you got from Grigori be good enough until you get a BBI weapon.

You might want to look up what limitless means.

It doesn't count, retard. Just accept the fact that you were wrong and move on.

>basic principles of math and logic are wrong now
Ok retard.

Thank you guys, I will farm money then and buy from the vendors instead of savecumming the chest.

>this thread went from lore discussion to aruging over grammar
Insane, what is your lads favorite party set up?
For me Its MA, Warrior, Warrior, Mage on a normal playthrough. I enjoy the double front line, not too huge of a fan of guardian mages I prefer it qent I have to call for help to get heals or buffs tbqh

>recent playthrough
>finished as assassin
>had sword/bow equipped the entire fight
>wake with with Dragon's Dogma (sword) and DF Almace (sword) but my bow wasn't even equipped somehow
And since then I've just been trying to DF the shitty endgame bow you get from caxton but I only refined it to two stars and have killed about a dozen dragons with no DF.
>said fuck it and went to BBI, got Dragon's glaze with moonbeam gem
>3 star it right away with all the fucking dragon materials I have holy shit
>have every piece of equipment at 3 star except for 1 piece
>6 dragons later and still no DF
sometimes I feel like the seneschal has it out for me.

which do I pick?

Attached: IMG_20190205_015158.jpg (1920x1080, 333K)

make sure to get suasion on yourself and your pawn while you're selling shit.
Also do you know the vocation grinding shit you can do with the guards? It's very helpful.

I know on ps3 I got to the point where I speedran the fucking game and was essentially oneshotting grigori to d forge my gear.

if you rest for like 4 days all chests and bosses respawn

Its completely up to you bud. Whats your playstyle, fast, supportive, defensive?
Speed, Nukes, Facetank into rolling 1 shot ect.

you can change vocations whenever you want so go nuts

Fighter then warrior, romance Mercedes.
Better berserk game than most official ones

>vocation grinding shit
yeah I actually do know it, its cool to stand on a wall and let the pawns farm for me
>suasion
Duly noted, thanks.
I didn't knew that, thanks.

fighter
>BIG DICK ENERGY
>rough beginning desu
>if you can master perfect blocking you'll be tearing bandits assholes
>very gear dependent obviously
>at a disadvantage in some fights but not so much early game
>keep your squishy friends alive
>hits damn hard
strider
>it's now a 3rd person action game + FPS
>fast as fuck
>balanced stat gains so you can switch roles later if you want to
>I'd recommend getting a pair of 3* rusted daggers or rusted bow because torpor is very useful but don't rely on them for damage
>goddam batman
>death from afar if you can land them headshots
>can abuse certain skills for huge dmg (skull splitter + eminence)
>gotta go fast
mage
>healing magic is very useful
>die in two hits to certain enemies
>magic hits hard in this game
>always useful
>element buff abilities to for your companions
>good offensive spells for the beginning
>get good understanding of what's weak to certain elements (wolves and goblins HATE fire)
>basically play this class until you get to Gran soren so you can go full Sorc and really blow shit up

My favorite classes are Fighter, Warrior, Assassin, and Magick Archer, so one of those is me. As for my pawns, basically I like having one of each color not counting myself.

For my current playthrough, I think I'm just gonna keep Rook all the way through.

Cursed dragons make life so much easier

>basically play this class until you get to Gran soren so you can go full Sorc and really blow shit up
Well, it’s more like “change to sorcerer and play then basically the same way as a mage until rank 6.” But boy I really felt the power when I first sent some goons flying with Frigor/Comestion.

What a chad

Attached: Image-906759.jpg (1280x720, 223K)

Do pawns know how to use Fracture Dart in BBI or do they just shoot the ceiling?

I like him. He's cool.

I'd imagine they do, hell my pawn will full charge an arc of deliverance when something gets knocked over and wont blow his load until it stands all the way back up.

He definitely is

DD really is the perfect example of a flawed gem. Almost tempted to buy it a third time

can't read nip so I wouldn't be able to play it properly

Bumping my question, is it possible to deal with enemies that can only be armed by magick when you play a melee arisen?

>trying to level some other classes for the augments after I hit 200 with my sorc
>getting my shit absolutely pushed in by things I tore up with one cast of HFB

Being melee is suffering.

Any other games where I can fully customize my avatar and my party? To me the thing that stood out to me the most about this game was the pawn system

Attached: 1555115247652.jpg (760x1024, 211K)

I love it when male characters completely disregard the females that throw themselves at them.

Yes, assuming your pawn is a mage or sorcerer and they enchant on command. You could also try spell tomes, but unless they have super low HP that's not gonna work.

I dont remember there being any enemies in the game that can only be harmed by magic, but enchanting should work. I know when you fight the golems you have to use fucking grand gicel to do jackall to them, there are also some elemental immune enemies like the wights where maelstrom wont hurt them.

Cool thanks, and yes I'm pretty sure I couldn't hurt some enemy when traveling at night, I didn't like it though, but if there are items that can be used why not.

It might of been the spooky orb there you hear the echo of childrens laughter. Phantoms or whatever they are called. Holy Boon/affinity is your best friend in this game

If it was the skeleton guy with a shield then you are too low level

That's my favorite thing about DD. The character creator and amount of fashion available always turns the game from an ARPG to a dress up game for me. CRPGs like Arcanum may scratch your itch, but that would mean you have to rely on portraits for looks. I've never played a Fallout title and I haven't touched ES for years, but I bet there's a mod out there that lets you customize companions. If you want to make the jump to DDO it allows you to customize more than one pawn, so you could run a party of four of your own creations.

Attached: 1355092017421.jpg (1280x720, 263K)

even with Dragon's Glaze (non-DF) and chilling razors (DF) I'm doing exceedingly little damage and since I'm playing on 360 I can only use randomly generated additional pawns, who are goddam useless.
I don't really want to cheese the game with conquerors periphets and blast arrows either.

Does anyone else have this problem?
>playing as fighter feels amazing despite the class's problems against ranged units
>MK feels slow as fuck and weak

Not me. I feel a lot stronger as a MK than I did as a Fighter. I don't feel slow either.

MK is all about tanking and reactive gameplay.
Demonswrath is a MUST HAVE shield spell.

I haven't fully ranked up MK so I can't say for sure, but it really helps to get your counter/riposte skills. Learning to perfect block increases your potency by a lot

Are offline pawns randomly generated every new save or would I be able to find one that I used before in a new game?

Anyone has a good guide for male character creation? I just made a male pawn for a change but I just can’t seem to care about him.

I like how your pawn shields you when Ashe's spirit form pops out.

is there a way to farm for rift crystals effectively?
I'm playing on 360 which no longer has server support so I'm starting to pile up BBI stuff that I can't purify
>played during the heyday of the game on 360
>had hundreds of thousands of RC's in reserve
>constantly getting more and more, never even need to add my character to the /ddg/

I like when I get picked up by a harpy and the drop me only for my pawn to stand under me and catch me

Truly the best

Attached: 8xuVVFK.jpg (960x886, 129K)

My favorite moment is when my pawn cast fulnimation when I am climbing large enemies.

You start off being chased by a group of people in a forest / marsh. You fall down a hill, and find a hidden cave. In that cave, you see a giant pair of eyes and an eerie red mist. As the figure comes into the light, you see that it is a dragon, being slowly eaten alive by the Brine, coming from a pool within the cave.

>god has left his heaven, and the tides of darkness are unleashed
>though god is dead, the wheel of fate continues to turn. the cycle is yet unbroken.
>you are not here by skill or bravery, but by the undying will of that same wheel
>may that prove to be the strongest will of them all, arisen

The Brine rips off the dragon's head, but nonethless the dragon reaches out a claw to you and steals your heart, throwing it into the Brine. You wake up in town. The game begins.

>what am I in for lads
Terrible performance.

Not for you, as shit taste is incurable.

Will the Rift reem me if I edit my pawn's vocation levels and DP or is that just for stats?

god I hated the brine, such a dumb worldbuilding element to justify the arisen not being able to swim. Just make an invisible wall instead ffs.

I just marathoned the tutorial, what did I think of it?

same, seriously. i can't believe i'm advocating an invisible wall, but it would've been an improvement.

Only way to "effectively" farm RC is to do ALL the "From A Different Sky" board quests, turn them in and then start a NG+. You keep the items you need to complete the quests and can turn them in every time you start a new game for 100k RC. It's way more efficient to trade or beg for rents though.

Attached: c4d9474e39eeef6e8739076ea4c3236c.jpg (640x480, 222K)

Yeah but as long as we have it we might as well make something of it. It'd be a waste if we never addressed the existence of this omnipresent waterborne death-fog in a game which starts out in a successful fishing village.

I like it. It was creepy. Especially if you throw something alive into it.

NEATH
A FAULTED SKY
CROSS LOAMLESS PLAINS
AND WATERED BLIGHT

But tossing slutty pawns into an invisible wall does nothing.

I DESIRE

THE MOST FUN DRAGONS DOGMA VOCATION

Attached: moses.jpg (720x405, 195K)

Mystic Knight

Saucerer

strider

Its the last truly bad part

Kick the bull to make it go faster.

I don't have much experience with tweaking pawns but I've heard that the rift doesn't care as long as the stats/their equipment aren't obviously hacked /broken

Attached: 59451393_p0_master1200.jpg (696x799, 250K)

Probably fine, I've only seen it remove pawns with hybrid vocations and impossibly out of range stats.

What would you like in DD2?
>co-op so two players band together with their personal pawns making it a party of 4
>Some form of summoner/beastmaster vocation similar to V in DMC5 and a monk

Doesn't he still have to fight the dragon in that? I guess they've thrown in the demons so he has more to do in the plot.

anons i really like warhammers in this game but sometimes i feel like the game is lacking something with warrior.

i kind of like mystic knight too but i feel like shields are kind of weak in a game like this, any recommendations for other vocations? Not entirely sure how much i'd enjoy the bow ones.

But you're already a summoner/beastmaster. You even just mentioned it yourself?

assassin can be shield and sword too

Ignore quest boards, questing in this game is shit. Focus on completing the story and exploring. Port Crystals are movable fast travel locations, you will only see a few on your first playthrough so you want to strategically place them, otherwise you have walk a massive fuck ton with the same enemy spawns the entire game. Once you kill the dragon and enter the post game, the game hits its stride for combat encounters and you should be leveled up enough to enjoy it. Complete the game twice and be around level 60-80 and you should try BBI for the next level.

yeah but i like BIG shields and the only ones i've seen are magic ones. I'd probably like mystic knight more if it got some sort of shield summons like skill or i had more space for shield skills, shields are my jam but there's very few games where you can use them in combat effectively

they can, but only if you're doing it wrong
they have no good shield skills

Thought that was what I remembered. Thanks, anons.

I definitely want a beastmaster vocation. A geomancer, too.

So you can wife literally any NPC in this game right?

Everyone save the Duke, Dragonforged and the bitterblack Isle characters iirc.

Dive into the D&D a little more with the classes. Don't bother making "basic", "advanced", and "hybrid" vocations, just do 5 base vocations and the "hybrids" are whatever you can come up with by multiclassing.

None of this levels 1-200 stuff either, cap it at 10-20 levels and let you pick which vocation to take a level in when you level up. Give each vocation lots of skills and interesting augments (unlike the shitty +10% damage, +100 health ones we have now) and add a DP cap as well so that you can't just have every single augment.

Are Gloves of Might any good? I'm already a climbing-centric strider.

so are there any good vocations that are better at grabbing monsters/staying on them/getting on them quicker? its my favorite part of the game and i want to grab shit/climb shit more often

assassin/strider get augs and moves that let them do more damage while on monsters

Was Dragon's Dogma always in 30fps? Might be a slight dealbreaker for me, but I'm not sure why it matters when I'm planning to play Dark Souls in 30fps as well

Should my fighter pawn focus more on knockdown or stagger?

The game sure throws wives at you. Do most female Arisens end up lesbians?

You can get up to 150fps on PC but it's been 30 on most consoles iirc

remember that what the gear turns into depends on what your current class is. If you want gear for a specific class then change both your job and your pawns into one that only uses that weapon

This, Hundred Kisses/Thousand Kisses can be used while grappling. Absolutely shreds enemies if used on a weak spot. Also a good idea to carry around hundreds of large mushrooms at all times so you can eat them by the fistful when you get tired

gouge also blenders stuff well too

6 team parties;
>1 player, 2 player pawns, 3 online/in-game pawns, The increase in party size would mean a increased difficulty or at least bigger fights, turning every encounter into a ballroom brawl
Katanas;
>Personally just want to make a Dante & Vergil duo
NG+ changes;
>If DD2 doesn't take after the original, I want my First Arisen to be hireable as part of my squad using his endgame gear, little game breaking maybe but it'd be cool

Does any of the Bitterbutt gear look good at all?

sounds fun. should i grab some daggers and a bow for assassin or should i use a sword?

carry all 3 and switch when you want too

Imagine paying Troy Baker to do pawn chatter in 2019.

alright but i'm pretty anal about my weight sometimes

based chocolate arisen
also fuck daimons used goods

I like dagger a lot more on assassin because Gale Harness and Invisibility are broken as fuck. Absolutely the best two skills in the game IMO

I using one warrior, one mage, one fighter and one sorcerer. Might ditch the mage, change my main pawn back to sorcerer and get a ramdom fighter pawn. Only problem is I'm finding zero loli pawns.

>this shit again
You're right, it is a dumb idea. Stop posting it.

>healing magic is very useful
no

Holy fuck you’re stupid

Co-op is easily the most retarded suggestion.

>add a DP cap as well so that you can't just have every single augment.
The thing with DD is the freedom of changing classes and if you limit augments you can get, you would effectively limit what classes you would play.

I'm getting oddly low FPS in the game, is there a patch or something I need to download? Or is it just my end.

HOT OPINION COMING UP
They're all really fun to use, it really comes down to personal taste. The fighter/warrior vocations really feel good if you like melee fighting, mage/sorc are really good magic users, strider/ranger are great if you like going fast and usings bows. The game's strongest aspect is that it does each and every class very well

I hope youguys remember to set your portcrystals to all major story locations to beat ng+ in 20 minutes to farm dragon weapons

Attached: 1550285929636.jpg (500x500, 85K)

Dragon's Dogma kind of sucks balls to be completely honest

STOP MAKING LOLI STRIDERS AAAAAAA I WANT A WARRIOR/FIGHTER

the smaller the character the faster their climbing speed is

And keep in mind that this game was itsunos baby. he thought about making this game since he was a child, I dont think the brine was made JUST to stop you from swimming, It has some meaning to it, Even if the game never gets the chance to elaborate.

Attached: D5rdghAU0AA8fF1.jpg (933x671, 79K)

loli fighters are the best

Here's to hoping for DD2. Considering how well DMC5 did, it might actually be a possibility

Probably your end. Try turning your antscopic filtering or whatever the fuck its called to max, for some reason it INCREASES my framerate
Also try turning v sync on or off depending on which it is right now. Also DOF, it doesnt make the game look better and is a performance hog

say what you will about riftsluts, mine happily brought in a steady supply for BBI.
Mine gave me Aelinore because I did her dumbass questline because I'm a completionist faggot. I even gave the Arisen's bond to Madeleine and didn't get her.

>Katanas;
Carnation looks pretty darn close

low resolution and bad framerate.

the way bonds and end of the game dragon bargain work is it goes for the last npc you max bonded so you probably did Aelinore's quest after giving the arisen's bond

Suck my dick, faggot, I'm both smarter and a better game designer than you'll ever be, and Itsuno agrees.

The freedom of changing classes in DDDA has no mechanical benefit, though. Minmaxing is meaningless and augments are either useless or obscenely useful. Imagine for a moment that you were playing the exact same game as DDDA, but instead of getting to switch vocations, you picked one at the start and it had a tenth, really expensive level that gave a super-powerful augment. You know, like +50% strength or whatever, it'd vary class by class. That's essentially the situation we have now. You only multiclass for the purpose of getting the ultra-powerful augments.

I can't honestly imagine that there are that many people who switch classes just for fun. I think most people pick one and stick with it. My system proposes to actually create mechanical incentive and benefit to multiclassing.

>I can't honestly imagine that there are that many people who switch classes just for fun
We got a legit autist on our hands guys. People playing games for fun... Yeah right!

Fournival is the best wife mechanically speaking. Also God help you if he gets found guilty.

>I can't honestly imagine that there are that many people who switch classes just for fun
Well, you're talking to one. Sometimes I feel like playing Fighter. Another day, I may feel like playing Sorcerer. I mess around with all 3 vocation colors a lot. And with your idea of choosing your own hybrid, I'd be changing around a lot more, hence your DP limit is gay as shit. The last thing I want is some no-skill-reset shit from some old ass MMO.

Nah it's Mountebank.

But why wouldn't you just start a new game?

Regardless, maybe there could be resets, you'd just still have the cap. You can respec whenever you want, but you can't have literally everything all at once.

post pic

you're talking about limiting people's options to force them to have fun the way you intend, rather than letting them have fun in ways you don't expect, and without actually introducing any new mechanics or playstyles to make that worthwhile.

What was that about being a good game designer? Stop sucking DnDs dick, faggot, mechanically its fucking godawful

>want to stop using voldoan armor
>all the stuff for sorcerers look like garbage
This is really, really gay.

Why in the world would I do that when switching on the fly is an option?
>you can't have literally everything all at once
That's how it is already and done much better than your retarded idea about experience caps.

He'll never make a game so we don't have to worry bout him putting in unfun shit because he doesn't understand different types of fun

None of those are sauces!

literally wear and use whatever you want. Unless you're about to farm BBI, then still wear whatever you want but take a BBI weapon

Unless you're sad you can't stomp around in heavy plate throwing out tornados? Then yeah, you're probably hosed.

Maybe your idea would work if they gave us multiple save files.

>you can't have literally everything all at once
What's your point? You can only have 6 equipped anyways. Limiting what augments I can get won't stop me from getting the best 6 for a particular class. All you're doing is stopping people from switching classes, a feature that's already in the game.

Now I don't know about you, but I'm not fond of sequels taking things out when it was perfectly fine before.

ofc it didn't happen, user was describing literally the perfect game. You think publishing companies want us to have literally the perfect game?

AHEM....................

>you're talking about limiting people's options to force them to have fun the way you intend, rather than letting them have fun in ways you don't expect, and without actually introducing any new mechanics or playstyles to make that worthwhile.
What? Literally the ENTIRE POINT of my system is to let the player have more choice in what they do. With the current system, literally everything you do is specifically implemented by the developers. They have to specifically make an Assassin vocation that can specifically equip 4 types of weapon with specific movesets.

In my system, you'd unlock daggers at level 1 strider, swords and shields at level 1 fighter, bows at level 1 ranger, congrats, you've created an assassin. Want to focus more on bows, grab more ranger, want to focus more on shields, grab more fighter, want to add fucking warhammers to your assassin, get level 3 warrior. Want a DDDA-style Mystic Knight, just take 5 levels in Mage and 5 in Fighter. Want to make a Magic Swordsman, it's 3 Mage / 7 Fighter instead, Battle Mage is 7 Mage / 3 Fighter, or fuck, come up with whatever fucking combination you want! Want to swing your Archistaff around like a fucking polearm, grab 5 Mage / 5 Warrior. Spirit Lancer from DDDO? Same thing, just pick different augments and use a spear instead! (hence the fucking augment cap so your cool spellcasting quarterstaff dude is distinct from the fucking spirit lancer despite taking the exact same levels in the exact same classes)

The ENTIRE FUCKING POINT is to add freedom, to let YOU create the hybrid class YOU want to use.

Yeah fine whatever I always forget about augment slots. Maybe the DP cap isn't needed, with the right system. You still can't fucking deny that augments in DDDA are done terribly, and need a huge revamp.

Thanks for confirming 6-years-ago-me had impeccable tastes.
>JULINA

Alright Yea Forums im currently lvl 55 and wondering is that a good enough level for Bitterblack isle.

Also why are all these oil weapons imm getting from quest so garbage?

>Goes against Arisen
>Did nothing wrong

Pick one and only one.

All weapons are masterworks and you cant go wrong

>You still can't fucking deny that augments in DDDA are done terribly
Yes I can. They're not OP and offer a good amount of customization.
Your ideas are still retarded and you keep missing the point that restricting choices is the exact opposite of freedom.

Fucking level 20-25 is ideal BBI starting time.
>against the Arisen
No, he's doing his own thing because politics and you, the arisen, just jump into the fray swinging. It's not his fault the Arisen is a literal living hero-trope.

>offer a good amount of customization.
As fucking if, you unimaginative fuck. Does 5 varieties of "gain 100 health / stamina" scream customization to you? How about +10/20% magick/strength? Man, this direct stat boost is really helping me express myself! Half the augments in the game are completely useless, a quarter are so OP that they have to be in every single build, and the remaining few slots you get are, at best, MINOR improvements that don't remotely change how you play.

>you keep missing the point that restricting choices is the exact opposite of freedom.
When am I restricting the player's choices? Because you can't be a fucking level 200 in every class shitty asian self-insert protag who's the master of everything? My system lets your character be ANY FUCKING CLASS YOU CAN IMAGINE. That's fucking freedom. It's constrained because, guess fucking what, DDDA was an unbalanced as shit game that needed some constraints placed on it. Every fucking fight in DDDA is either too easy or too hard because of the shitty fucking RPG mechanics. My "constraints" in this case are an improvement to the game's balance, which will make it more fun, and they come alongside a fuckton more freedom than DDDA has ever let you have.

He's so best boy it hurts. It's nice reconnecting with him in the dungeons after you bring him back to life.

LOLI PAWNS! LOLI PAWNS! COME GET YOUR LOLI PAWNS!

>Half the augments in the game are completely useless, a quarter are so OP that they have to be in every single build
Thank you for further proving you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
>Because you can't be a fucking level 200 in every class shitty asian self-insert protag who's the master of everything?
Have you even played this game? You can't do everything at once. That's the whole point of the vocation system.
>My "constraints" in this case are an improvement to the game's balance
Which you clearly have no understanding of, so there goes that big brain idea.

That's the saddest thing I have ever heard. Being such a no-renter that you have to resort to strategizing a RC farm.

>augments done terribly
you literally suggested a 50% bonus instead. Shuffling numbers around doesn't mean shit, moron.

A finite, pre-programmed experience is never going to have the sheer variety of options of an imagination game like DnD, but because absolute fucking retards like you don't understand that DnD has shit mechanics and its actually the roleplaying bits that make it fun, you assume that if you cut and paste DnD mechanics into a video game it'll magically be more like DnD.

Sure. The shittiest possible version of DnD. There is no goddamn way to pre program every last little interaction that you could come up with on the fly with your imagination, its never going to happen. Instead, video games focus on having tighter gameplay elements in far more limited systems. D3A accomplishes this just fine. You, a retard, seem to think that coming in with an even more restrictive, half assed dnd ruleset is somehow going to improve freedom of choice. I'm laffin.

Basically, go play a fucking tabletop. Preferably not dnd, since it's the worst one.

Holy shit you're a dumb angry faggot

>guy in the tent in the encampment wont talk to me anymore
>just runs away as soon as i get near him
what do, i wanted to buy stuff

what did you do

>Because you can't be a fucking level 200 in every class
First off, classes only have a max level of 9 and is separate from your character level and second, you really can't do everything. I mean you can't actually change classes on the fly or anything.

And I don't see how your constraints would have any effect on fights being too easy or too hard, because it's not that simple of a fix. But hey, I do like your hybrid class idea, at least at its core of combining two base classes for a new class.

i killed him

>at least at its core of combining two base classes for a new class.
Good thing the game already does this in a much better way than retarded multiclassing.

it'd be funnier if every time it cut back to you peeking in their was more and more people peeking into too

>Have you even played this game? You can't do everything at once. That's the whole point of the vocation system.
Oh my fucking god I hate talking to people on the internet. Read what I said again, think about what I was saying it in reference to. We are talking about MY system. You are talking about how MY system constraints people. I am asking how MY system constrains people. Right? "Why is my system constraining? Because you can't be a level 200 master of everything?". Right? Do you understand that question? Can you even fucking read?

How does MY FUCKING SYSTEM constrain people?

>Which you clearly have no understanding of, so there goes that big brain idea.
Sorry, I was under the impression that you had an actual, coherent argument, but apparently you don't. You haven't given a single specific example, you haven't made direct reference to any of my points, you haven't made any actual arguments, and you clearly haven't got a fucking clue what I'm even talking about.

If you SINCERELY think I'm wrong, then sit down, think up an actual argument, read through my posts, make direct reference to them and tell me why they're wrong, and above all use your fucking reading comprehension to understand what I'm talking about. This is just like high school english class. Remember? The class you clearly got a fucking C- in?

>you literally suggested a 50% bonus instead.
no i fucking wasn't, ugh, I was saying that IF you did a 50% bonus, that'd have the same gameplay impact as DDDA's current augment system. i.e. All DDDA's current augment system is good for is getting 50% more damage on every class, it doesn't fucking accomplish anything else meaningful. I think having a 50% bonus would be a BAD idea.

>DnD
Look, your entire post is WAY too focused on that point, and it's making me think you've got a bit of an unhealthy fixation on that game system. "DND" in this case is literally just referring to the fact that you 1. pick a vocation to take a level in when you level up and 2. can pick any combination of classes and level amounts you like, ala DND multiclassing. It was literally just an example I was using to help people understand the concept.

It never cuts back to you peeking in. It cuts to you once, at the very end, leaning against the wall and listening but not peaking, like some kind of cool guy. The only thing you're missing are sunglasses

Every post of suggestions you've made has been for shitty dnd multiclassing lmao. And a vague hint that you want augments to be more like dnd skills. I'm just addressing what you're saying, idiot

>think about what I was saying it in reference to
This game. Because you already went on a spiel about 200 is too high of a level cap and you'd have it be 20 tops.
Way to further out yourself as a moron.
>If you SINCERELY think I'm wrong, then sit down, think up an actual argument
You first retard. Don't say stupid shit like "oh man there's about 5 augments that are super op" without naming them. It makes you look even more retarded.

i wasn't saying you COULD be level 200 in every class in DDDA, I was asking why the system I was proposing was constraining, and using "be level 200 in every class" as a hypothetical example of an unconstrained class system.

My system WOULD combine discipline and character levels.

>And I don't see how your constraints would have any effect on fights being too easy or too hard
They'd be about half the job. The other half is fixing the bad equipment system. The idea is that if you cap the player at a low, but achievable, level, then you don't get DDDA's issue where everything can be beaten at level 70 and you have 130 levels to go and keep getting stronger and stronger.

>But hey, I do like your hybrid class idea, at least at its core of combining two base classes for a new class.
thanks

>sperging out so hard he can't even reply to multiple posts
Pretty sure this dude is just a shitposter that wants the thread to die.

To be fair I re-read the guys' post and he's on xbox which lost pawn server support a while back

Attached: 1370112211519.jpg (918x1075, 542K)

So why the fuck is Travis Touchdown in the Swich version?

I made sure to give the bond as the last thing I did before fighting grigs, I must not have maxed with her. I think it was a bug of somekind but she never opened a shop which probably has something to do with it, despite doing the normal things that trigger it.

1. pick a vocation to take a level in when you level up
2. can pick any combination of classes and level amounts you like
3. augments work exactly like they do now, you equip them and they do shit, I just want them to be better instead of straight 20% damage or nothing.

That's what I'm suggesting. I've backpedaled a bit on 3, I suppose - originally I wanted to limit the number you could obtain, but that might be useless, since I guess you can only equip a limited # of augs to begin with.

there's already a bunch of pre made offline pawns named after capcom characters so I guess someone on the team like NMH and got travis in, sort of, has a pawn

I just meant in the manner of new classes that don't currently exist. I just like new class ideas really.

He just sounds like a guy who's very passionate about his ideas. Maybe too much.

So how would you implement "class" specific skills in your system?

you're fucking retarded and I'm glad your ideas are never going to be anywhere near DD2.

what are the best warrior skills for primary?

>I just want them to be better instead of straight 20% damage or nothing.
Why do you keep repeating this same strawman over and over?

just stop arguing with him, he's a retard that probably buys into the "YOU CAN DO ANYTHING" MMO pitch every time

There's such a thing as a character limit, faggot. What kind of a fucking ad hom is this?

>You first retard.
Okay.

1. The class system in DDDA is holding it back creatively.
2. The level system in DDDA is holding it back in terms of balance.
3. By (1 and 2), we should revamp the class and level systems in DDDA.

>In support of 2
4. A goal of a level system is to allow the player to grow in power but not grow past the point where enemies offer a challenge.
5. By (3 and 4), there should be a relatively low, constrained cap on the player's level.

>in support of 1
6. A goal of a class system is to let the player experience the game in different ways.
7. A class system should not let you become overpowered past the point where enemies present a challenge.
8. DDDA's current system of base, advanced, and hybrid classes creates a factorially-increasing number of classes needed as the number of base classes increases.
9. By (8), if we want to add more playstyles, we must either replace existing playstyles with them, greatly increase the development budget, or change the class system.
10. Since we want to add more playstyles, replacing old ones is not a good idea.
11. Increasing the budget is not something we can rely on in a design sense.
12. By (6, 9, 10, 11), we should change the class system.

13. (Claim) Because we are changing both the class and level systems at the same time, it makes sense to integrate the two.
14. If we are integrating the class and level systems, it makes sense to replace hybrid classes with simply taking levels in different classes.

There. Any questions, anything you want me to elaborate on?

Yeah, but maybe he would realize he's basically proposing to implement 50+ classes each with unique skills.

>beat big dragon man

welcome to the post-game, congrats on fucking up the world it's all your fault

You didn't even finish the tutorial, user...

Abandon all delusions of control.

>didn't even address which augments are "broken"
Talk about evading the question.

>switch
expect shit frames

Why is this game so insufferably quotable?

that means the writer(s) did a good job

Because half the game is your AI pet yelling things at you in a silly ye olde dialect.

Like what, give me an example. Like Mystic Knight's Great Cannon? There are two basic ways:

1. Just make it weapon-specific, so any sword class can use it.

I don't like 1 too much, but this is why I wanted to implement limits on the number of skills you could buy, so not every single character could just use Great Cannon. By giving it high Magic scaling, you might be able to constrain it to only people who've taken lots of Mage levels, though. I think it's a potential solution.

2. Make it unlock at 5 levels of mage, 5 levels of fighter

I also don't like 2, because you'd be doing a lot of that "directly coding in hybrid classes" that the system is supposed to avoid. At the same time, it solves problems where level 5 fighters can use Great Cannon with no training.

In general, I think that no solution is perfect, but either 1 or 2 could work provided the skill becomes available at the right class levels.

No, that's something I'm trying to avoid. I want to implement 5 classes. Yes, each class would have lots of additional stuff compared to a DDDA class, but ultimately the player is creating the class by mix-and-matching, the developer shouldn't have to do much. 1 above is closer to what I want than 2, but both would be FAR less work than making 50 actual classes.

Look, Assassin in DDDA, right? You have to make a complete class just for the concept of "use shields and daggers at the same time". In my system, you'd get to equip daggers at Strider 1 and shields at Fighter 1. You create the dagger + shield assassin just by combining those two abilities.

Yeah I'm fucking done with you, I gave you a numerated list of argument points and you can't even post something as simple as "6 is wrong". I hope nobody reading my autistic rantings actually thinks you have a legitimate argument with your "sick" 2cool4skool one-liners.

Th frames are fine

All I'm asking is for you to list which augments you think are broken and why. Like you keep going on and on about all this irrelevant shit instead of answering this simple question.

Look, I'm being swarmed by like four people, some of whom might be the same person, so sorry if I don't do an ennumerated case-by-case analysis of every augment in the game, you see where that kind of detail got me with Can you give me an example of an augment which fits the following criteria?

1. If the augment is a generic increase to damage, then it has a significant opportunity cost in the form of an non-damage-related augment.
2. If the augment is not a generic increase to damage, then it has NO significant opportunity cost in the form of a generic boost to damage which would accomplish more in the same slot.
3. The augment is strong, but not overpowered.
4. The augment significantly changes how you play the game.

I don't think more than ten augments in the entire game satisfy these criteria. You'd be hard-pressed to find more than eight, and you certainly couldn't find more than twenty. There are upwards of sixty augments in the game.

>still can't back up his points and opts to go off on an autistic tangent instead
lol

THEYRE MASTERWORKS ALL, YOU CANT GO WRONG (except mage)

Your ideas are fucking gay

Clout's a massive generic damage increase, it's basically required on every physical class in the game. Clout's broken. Vehemence, similarly, is broken. Their magic equivalents as well. You only have 6 augment slots and 2 of them on any remotely serious build are taken up instantly. Eminence gets a free spot on any Strength-based class that is capable of jumping during a spammable attack, so Warrior, Strider, Ranger. Articulacy gets a free slot on any caster, so you're down to half your augment slots.

The augments I listed are all broken. There is no thought put into using them, they have huge impacts on your damage, and they take up augment slots, leaving you with little room to customize. By contrast, there are augments that literally are just flat +100 health, completely fucking useless, and generally even interesting augments are too weak, numerically, to create a significant impact in the way you play. This is what I mean when I say a bunch of augments are completely broken and others are worthless. Half your slots at any given time are brainlessly taken up by huge damage boosts, and the rest of the augments in the game can't compare.

fu

>No, that's something I'm trying to avoid.
Okay, but all you're saying is
>I want mix 50+ unique classes organically from 5 components but have no idea how that would even work
Your first solution is just different stat growths, which DD already does and the second solution is implementing the 50+ combinations by hand.

You're not actually saying WHY they're broken. You keep evading this issue. It's almost like you don't understand the game well enough to make a point.
>Eminence gets a free spot on any Strength-based class that is capable of jumping during a spammable attack, so Warrior, Strider, Ranger.
>Ranger
>jump attacks
Way to out yourself tard.

This is where shit gets interesting
When you get to the everfall, if you havent already, Dont finish the "grind for 20 stones" quest, its a point of no return and locks you into ng+. Do bitterback isle after grinding up in there

>there are augments that literally are just flat +100 health, completely fucking useless
It's literally an augment unlocked at rank 2 to help your early game. It's not like you have access 6 broken augments starting the game.

>I want mix 50+ unique classes
It's not 50+ unique classes. You do it concept-by-concept. The concept of "the player can equip daggers". Where do we put this? When do we want the player equipping daggers? Let's put it at Strider 1. The concept of "the player can charge basic spells while attacking with an archistaff", where should we put that? Mage has archistaffs and Magic Billow, how about Mage 5? We'll make it an augment. The concept of "the player can equip spears", where's that go? Maybe Warrior 4. Hey, Staves are polearms, maybe if the player can also equip spears, they should get to swing around their archistaff like a spear. Simple interaction, basic, not much thought goes into it. And look what we've done. With Strider 1, Mage 4, Warrior 4, you can have a guy who can equip daggers, swing around his staff like a spear, and charge spells while he does that. That's like a naruto ninja or a battle mage or a monk or something.

They're broken because its a huge damage increase and its almost too good to pass up and removes any reason to use lesser augments
And ranger still has daggers and can fuck shit up with them as good as any other yellow vocation
Its not that hard to understand, not even that user

So for everfall, I'm basically just exploring the random rooms/arenas for loot, right? Like there's no specific order I have to do anything in or any sort of reward for doing all of them or something along those lines? I guess I'm just kind of confused by what exactly I'm supposed to do in there other than kill shit and open chests, unless that really is it.

Not that that's a bad thing. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. That beholder fight was cool as hell although I definitely brute forced it cause I have no idea if there was a way for me to take down that shield other than just waiting it out.

>all these newbie cunts that can't even take a second to check /vg/ for the general which has all the info compiled from years back

Attached: 72908_117408915105589_1186130603_n.jpg (960x540, 98K)

>That's like a naruto ninja or a battle mage or a monk or something.
Oh, you mean the 4-1-1 class, that has certain skills shared with the 4-2-0 class but doesn't have access to all of them. So like Assassin and Fighter.

>You're not actually saying WHY they're broken
Yes I am.

They are broken because

1. They are direct, flat boosts to damage
2. They are stronger and more impactful by far than any other augments in the game
3. There is no thought involved in acquiring them
4. They are generic and useful for every class
5. They don't require or generate any significant playstyle changes

Reasons 1-5 that I just listed are why they are broken, as I have repeated no less than four times in this thread alone.

>So for everfall, I'm basically just exploring the random rooms/arenas for loot, right?
No. The rooms are each unique in a different way and contain different enemies/loot drops/chest rewards. Literally look up a fucking guide.

Optimal!=broken

Games that do this well tend to toss out "class" altogether and instead create more focused skill trees from which you can mix and match.

All of this, of course, is window dressing, with no bearing on the underlying gameplay, and instead just a reordering of stat sticks and animated number throwing to satisfy your autism, and thus has absolutely no bearing on freedom of gameplay or the playstyles you can engage in, really. If you want to create new styles of gameplay, what you really need is to change detection, movement, hit and hurt boxes, terrain interaction, etc etc etc.

The existing classes do a good job of having 9 distinct play styles via unique skills within the context of the underlying gameplay, and literally all you're suggesting is reordering the names under which unique skills can be used.

The augments are boring, yes, but that's an inescapable trapping of a game with complicated stats like this instead of a simpler system with more fluid interactions. If the augments were going to wildly change your playstyle, they wouldn't be augments. They'd be a wholly different class.

Ranger and Strider aren't the optimal dagger builds though. Assassin is.

So what you're saying is I'm exploring the set rooms/arenas for set loot. Thanks for the friendly response user.

We’re not discussing vocation, we’re discussing augments. Don’t change the subject. Even so that doesn’t defeat the point.

>ranger still has daggers and can fuck shit up with them as good as any other yellow vocation
Nah that's not even remotely true. Helm Splitter is the only reason people ever slap Eminence on Strider, and it's just Strider.
Everything you just said was false. How can you even pretend to know what you're talking about when you honestly think Clout and shit are flat damage increases is beyond me.

Good, we will just get 2.

Assassin doesn't get Brain Splitter.
Assassin doesn't get a 250% increase to damage while climbing.

Yeah, only instead of going "okay, this is the stuff the 4-1-1 class will have", you're saying "4 levels in this class gives you this, 1 in this class gives you this, 1 level in this class gives you this". At no point are you explicitly saying that 4-1-1 should have this specific set of skills. You're creating a bunch of generic skill ideas and the player is combining them the way they want.

>Games that do this well tend to toss out "class" altogether and instead create more focused skill trees from which you can mix and match.
That's also an option, but I like the concept of vocations and I don't want them to just disappear.

>literally all you're suggesting is reordering the names under which unique skills can be used.
No I'm not? If you want to equip daggers and a shield in DDDA, you have to be an Assassin, period. If you want to equip daggers and a shield in my system, you can be a fucking Fighter 1 / Strider 1 / Mage 12 if you want to. Or instead of Mage 12, Warrior 12. Or Ranger 12. Or Fighter 13 / Strider 1, or Fighter 1 / Strider 13. My system creates lots of playstyles that are simply impossible in DDDA.

> If the augments were going to wildly change your playstyle, they wouldn't be augments. They'd be a wholly different class.
They don't have to be a wholly different class, though. There's no actual reason to make it a wholly different class. If anyone has autism, it's the guy who wants every single distinct mechanic in its own separate box.

>you're creating a bunch of generic skill ideas and the player is combining them the way they want.
There is just the perfect mod for you.

Attached: dd.png (546x359, 167K)

You can just say you want to throw tornados as strider, user. You don't have to come up with all this convoluted bullshit for it.

>nooooooo you're not supposed to be a level infinity do everything god aaaaaaaaaaa

It's random what rooms will spawn at the end of each hallway, each time you visit, but the rooms are pre-made and simply loaded in.
Look up a guide seriously (sorry for the tone earlier) but it will really help. You should plan out what levels spawn what rooms and which area npcs and merchants/vendors visit, so you can maximize your time and chance for loot drops. You're at endgame and will miss out on alot of shit if you just go blindly.

>How can you even pretend to know what you're talking about when you honestly think Clout and shit are flat damage increases is beyond me.
What? When I say "flat damage increase", I mean it increases your damage and has no further effects. I don't literally mean it increases your damage by exactly 20 no matter what.

Optimal == Broken if:

1. Optimal >>> Other
2. (!Optimal).cost == Optimal.cost

While you can do her quest and still get someone else, I think the system is coded to weigh more heavily towards Aelinore.

But they get the most dps delivery, do the most dmg of their line, get access to some advanced skills locked to strider and ranger, and are just all round better. This discussion has been done before many times and the proof is in the pudding m80. Look up the guides and breakdowns in the general.

Sure, let's have that only good. You know how many fucking people in these threads have asked to be able to just fucking equip a shield on their Strider or whatever? Too many.

And if we limited the number of class levels the player can get, then there's no worry about having a level 9 assassin + level 9 fighter who gets both Dire Gouge AND Dragon's Maw, you can make people choose, exactly the same way that they have to choose now.

yeah basically

I mean I don't but you can't deny that'd be cool

You fucked up by not completing her questline. She needs to leave or else she doesn't unlock as a choice.

Sounds good, I popped into a few rooms and was looking at the wiki a bit but it didn't seem to say anything about a grand scheme sort of thing other than getting 20 wakestones which seems way too easy with how often shards are dropping in there. I know turning them in is a point of no return thing and I haven't done bitterblack yet so I won't be doing that yet, but I figured it would be fun to check out everfall for a while first cause I'm not even very high level. Think I'm 50 right now.

>n-no we decided assassin is best already
Brain Splitter alone is the strongest dagger skill.
Their extra 250% climbing damage trumps everything Assassin has when it comes to daggers.

user you’re being retarded. That’s like saying the higher damaging sword by 2 points is broken because it’s >>>>then other. Game balance in a single player rpg is a fucking meme. You last comparison is moot because if they didn’t want player to use for your arbitrary “how fast we want players to use it” they wouldn’t put it in the game. You can just say you dislike it, but it’s not broken. Also how is thought a prerequisite for something to be broken/not be broken? That seems arbitrary.

Newsflash retard: If you had to pick between something like Vehemence or Arm-Strength, the latter is going to win out sometimes.

Nah mate. The stats don't lie. A min/maxed Assassin is stronger than a min/maxed Ranger. Their bonus from Strength does matter.

>limited the number of class levels the player can get
Don't put some arbitrary restrictions there now. If I want to use them both then let me. I mean they are both sword skills, how would you restrict this in your system?

>Ranger
We're talking Strider, dipshit.

...

>Their bonus from Strength does matter.
Minmaxed Assassin and Strider have the same strenght.

Which outfit should I go with, Yea Forums? Dues Vult (pic related) or Valhallacore ?

Nah. The highest legitimate core Strength by level 200 is 956 for Arisen and 766 for Pawns. In both cases, this is achieved by leveling as a Fighter from 1-10. Arisen can then level as an Assassin from 11-200, while Pawns can only level as a Warrior or Ranger from 11-200.
Why would you stay at the shitty base class?

Deus Vult, for sure. Something about ur valhallacore looks slightly inconsistent, but I can't pinpoint it. I think its the arm. And also it just vaguely looks like a skyrim peasant.

>why would you use a class that gets one of the strongest attacks in the game and does the best climbing damage?
this retard lol

>switch to Strider at 200
Now, I have a Strider with the same strength. Amazing isn't it?

Thanks for the input, user. Was going for something similar to this but got lost in the details.

That actually does look decent, but you used a really different cloth top and arm it looks like?

I tried a more barbarian-ish look with that helmet and the direwolf cape for my pawn, but I eventually had to ditch the helmet. I made my pawn look like an even more tanned version of adrian paul in highlander, and it always makes me sad to cover up all that hair

He's great. I don't want to ever side with Mercedes.

The artbook is full of nice stuff to take inspiration from.
