Is there any other place in the world except for Africa to be a gamer?
>South America doesn't have e-shop and Nintendo you were supposed to list only negative aspects
Joshua Stewart
It really fucking hurts but i live with it.
Best i got here are LoL players but i never see them play the game, i just see them wearing the same made up hat of one of the green minions of the game.

True

Nobody cares about South America tbqh
>>No real esports or competitive scene here
Best Smash player in the world is Mexican
> >People here don't develop games at all
Mulaka, Patobox, KSP, VA-11 HALL-A, are great games with amazing reception
>Is there any other place in the world except for Africa to be a gamer?
It has a website where you can buy codes for digital games, but there are very few and most of them are games made by nintendo, the only games not from nintendo are Mortal Kombat XI, Fifa, and 5 or so indie games.
Andrew Carter
>No real esports or competitive scene here muh fortnite, dota and lol esport
Brazilians are very good in counter strike, but latin americans don't have any top player in mobas.
A good amount of would like to be in the region, specially in Brazil, but the bureaucracy and taxes make the invesment not worth it.
Jordan Morgan
Nintendo abandoned Brazil lol
Dominic Brown
>If you're over 20 and you keep gaming, you're seen as a manchild
>who cares
When you lose oportunities in life because of that you should care, specially if you live in a small city where people really in the judment of others to survive.
Blake Miller
Yes, and my post explain why.
Gavin Garcia
Blame your retarded protectionist socialist governments and vote for globalisation parties.

>>Videogames are expensive as fuck here steam sales are good enough plus we can just pirate >>People only play FIFA and Fortnite shit not true >>If you're over 20 and you keep gaming, you're seen as a manchild not true >>South America doesn't have e-shop and Nintendo and many companies don't care about the region true but who cares, just make a canadian account or something if you really needs it >>No real esports or competitive scene here not that i care but we have a pretty good esports scene here >>People here don't develop games at all maybe not good ones but we have been getting our share of shitty indies
>Videogames are expensive as fuck here Not if you buy digital >People only play FIFA and Fortnite shit Same in the rest of the world >If you're over 20 and you keep gaming, you're seen as a manchild No, you are seen as a manchild because you are one >South America doesn't have e-shop and Nintendo and many companies don't care about the region Nintendo shit can fuck off, steam has regional pricing and that's the only plataform that matters >No real esports or competitive scene here E sport faggotry must die >People here don't develop games at all True here in Costa Rica but Mexico has some nice games and we probably will get some eventually
Oliver Morris
Who cares, Brazilians are all monkeys anyway.

AMERICA LATINA OBRERA YANKEE, GO HOME GRINGO, GO HOME
There's a lot of young vidya bros here. Don't worry about money for vidya. When you hit your late 20's working, earning a wage (if you were into your pro career) the vidya is not a obligation or you could get digital games with your friend and share that account like ps4 method
Kevin Rogers
Wii U didn't sell well so it's gonna be a collector's item.
The US has it worst. We have to accept that playing online we'll be mocked by irrelevant countries about Trump when we didn't even bother voting. If we look up a guide on Steam it's written in Russian and we don't speak anything but freedom.
Cheer up though my brown brother that better not try to come here. At least we protect you under the Monroe doctrine. Unless you're a commie. Or don't sell us cheap oil. Or otherwise piss us off. Good thing we aren't fickle.
Charles Davis
Mulaka is a great Mexican game with Zelda/Okami vibes
>People only play FIFA and Fortnite shit >No real esports or competitive scene here These ones hurt the most. Everytime i try to find brazilians to play with they turn out to be normie as fuck and don't even play games much. Finding people for competitive play is a lost cause.
I'm so glad I'm living in the US nowadays. I had absolutely no future in Peru, but now I have a degree, a nice job, a nice car, and I can buy cheap vidya.
Chile here already on that. Still doesn't help against the price gouging importers.
Jackson Robinson
>be latino >got a PS2 >thousands of burned out discs en el mercadito/feria/boliche >all your friends have discs with emulators and roms >go full pirate and never go back
Who cares about game prices, you can live as a King here in the kikongo, theres no FBI to track the downloads.
Uruguay user here, got a switch and also waiting for the new pokemon to play competitive.
Gabriel Ramirez
Jesus Christ. Just got a used one for my cousin who lives in Peru. 300 bucks CIB + Smash and Zelda. If he were to buy one there he would be spending about 450-500 + 70 for each game. Fucking bullshit.
You have /int/ to talk about your shitty countries You have /pol/ to talk about the politics of your shitty countries
I don't understand why you filthy cretins insist on having a Latin America general thread on Yea Forums, the fucking videogames thread
Gavin Mitchell
Go back to your shit smash roster and WoW whe are going home threads, at least this one dies quick.
Owen Watson
Now that I think about it Pikmin 3 could be interpreted as 3 Venezuelans escaping their home. The booming population of Koppai and the lack of food reminds me of Venzuela for some reason.
> unemployed in a shithole in Latin America > start making an indie game > by miracle gets support in Patreon > get enough money to eat and drink > government requires 30% of this money > Can not eat and drink anymore > unemployed again in a shithole in Latin America Seriously, I do not have any hope for the future of this shit anymore.
Isaac Walker
Since when is patreon taxable? Isn't it technically donations?
>Videogames are expensive as fuck here Video game princes in Mexico prices are fine. >People only play FIFA and Fortnite shit I live in Baja California and here is Smash Brothers and Yu-Gi-Oh! (trading card game). >If you're over 20 and you keep gaming, you're seen as a manchild Not really, and if it was the case Mexico is the meca for "me vale verga". >South America doesn't have e-shop and Nintendo and many companies don't care about the region Dunno, I think at least Chile has an eShop and official distribution. >No real esports or competitive scene here I can find a small Smash/YGO tournament every weekend, but outside of those games things turn very dry. >People here don't develop games at all I think we develop more games than most countries, but nothing close to the big ones.
Depends on the country. In mine it is considered a service offered in a country from abroad and this is taxable. And donations also need to pay fees, otherwise the whole market would become a mere "donation" of money in exchange for "donation" of products.
Isaac Brooks
I fucked good that first sentence, lol.
Adrian Wilson
>If you're over 20 and you keep gaming, you're seen as a manchild But they're right.
Those are actual videogame threads. This one is just an /int/ general pretending to be videogames. Get fucked
Owen Johnson
Paypal ends up sucking up 9-10% of your money.
Say you receive a $100 payment. You get like $6 stolen from paypal's tax, and then when converting from USD to MXN (my currency) the rates are slightly lower and you end up losing another $4 from the conversion, so you only end up receiving $90
Lucas Sanchez
>We are talking about vidya >We are talking about vidya game prices >We are talking about game developers >In english >Somehow this belong in other thread.
No, you get fucked, and your wife gets fucked by jamal.
Ryan Howard
>not having esport scene >bad thing esport is fucking destroying gaming
