Yeah I wish the game told you what the alt mode does. With the poleaxe you flip it around to use the blunt end, but I'm pretty sure it does less damage to armor than the sharp end

More armor pen so probably more damage against those fully armored. But where is the cutoff point? Does it only do that to heavy armor, will it do more or less to medium armor? Since people sometimes mix, heavy body and medium head, which mode is the best approaching that situation? I need more info.

It literally does. Go to the weapon in the Armory and check the "Advanced Stats" button. There's a tick box for "Alt. Mode" and it shows the stats that change. Stuff like the Billhook have the exact same stats except the primary mode is negative knockback that pulls them to you and the alt mode is positive knockback.

You can actually see the damage values by clicking the advanced button when you select the weapon in the armory

Shit like rapier stabs being fast is fine but they shouldn't be faster than my stab chamber into overhead when I'm using what should be a relatively fast weapon (longsword). These faggots can just stab away all day, too fast to attack, too fast to do anything but basic chambers (which are stupidly easy to parry), and will deplete your stamina faster than you can deplete theirs.

Why do the two handed weapons animations look so fucking unnatural? they stay in windup mode for two fucking seconds without moving before striking and I always block too early because of it

Shields are gay, rapiers are gay, attacks in general are too spam-able not enough of a stamina hit for constantly just swinging. Animations looked fuck, even more so in the fucked FOV of the game so a legit tactic is to get in the face so animations look even more off than they already are. Dueling is gay, frontline and BR is gay. TDM, DM, Skirmish are fun as fuck.

Sadly until we get FTL communications, this stuff isn't going anywhere. In real life a sword swing takes 400-600ms, but you also have much better awareness and no delay in your response.

Yeah that's a real big issue with them, you can completely get out of the hitbox just by walking back as the kick user is frozen in place, I could initiate a kick point blank and still have them walk out of it really easily.
