just buy mana fabius LMAO

Because the strategy of "here's a $60 game, wait 4 years for $250+ worth of DLC for it to be fun also we'll have a about $150 worth of garbage "art" dlc too. We might or might not fix bugs or optimize it or bother to give you good AI, but just buy all the DLC for it to work right" doesn't work and people are starting to wake up.

There's also the fact most things are the same as it was in CK2 when it started but CK2, EU4 and Stellaris have had DLC. HoI4 is always the same since it's literally all about combat.

They fucked up out of greed

I have a couple of reasons
>No real competitor in the market for grand strategy
>Released a good games before that built up a loyal fanbase
>Released jewfuckery DLCs yet said loyal fanbase still bought them
>Getting more and more greedy and thought that people will keep buying your piss poor game no matter what
In conclusion, just another soulless Western dev who thinks they could get away with their jewess practice forever

you keep invoking jews, but the problem is the capitalist profit incentive
They don't do any of that out of personal "greed", they do it because it's literally their job to maximize shareholder value.

Don't you dare insult my game.

Attached: johan.png (322x325, 203K)

Because they keep a guy that designs phone/board game mechanics for their "strategy" games

>you keep invoking jews, but the problem is the capitalist profit incentive
what do you think jews are?

an ethnoreligious group?

It's business as usual and paid reviewers/streamers.

It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest.

I will tell you but first you need to pay 20 scroll mana

imagine if Paradox weren't private company, but state controlled - they are not working for profit - state provides them with funds from taxpayers, they can't go bankrupt and sales don't matter. They would keep making mediocre mana simulators, because they can't be punished by market and they don't have any financial incentive to grow.

They're Jewish with their dlc

officially the worst one

Attached: 5y.jpg (1369x1012, 315K)

why did they include india? the game is already slow enough and they added fucking india?

It's deliberitly lacking so they can sell you the dlc needed to complete it.

So then the problem is the stock market, a Jewish system.

The interest of the dealers, however, in any particular branch of trade or manufactures, is always in some respects different from, and even opposite to, that of the public.

imagine if Paradox weren't a private company, but a workers' cooperative.
I don't think the developers who sit there enjoy pumping out overpriced DLCs any more than you enjoy paying for them.

>Stellaris has less players than EU4 and HOI4
I thought Stellaris was supposed to be the casual one to attract the 4X audience, the one with mass appeal
what happened?

they fucking ruined it

Terribly optimzied and generally a shitty mid and late game
CK2 is the casual one because of "muh incest" and "muh seductive yaaaas slay queen"

Stellaris is pretty boring, user now with the "updates"

Every successive update made the game worse.

It's empty and the mana is retarded.

they broken the game, made 2.0 and game does not work since then due to the technical problems

Wiz - creator of whole mess left the project, and they are sitting now not knowing what to do, so just went quiet and pretend everything is ok

game is in broken limbo for months now, and when they speak, they speak about upcoming DLC

>workers' cooperative
HHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHABABUSSR

>Customer: We don't like mana please make it less abstract
>Added literally 4 fucking types of mana instead
What were they thinking????

what is holding back Paradox employees to create workers' cooperative? Will this workers' cooperative live on taxpayers money?

Attached: rd.png (136x23, 7K)

>nobody is actually in charge
>nobody following order
>no profit so bankrupt in 3 months

I dont think they actually know how to appeal to a casual audience. They visualized their games and had huge successes but they have no idea which part actually made them successful so they keep simplifying everything until it's a mobile tier counter watching game with a map to track your progress.

I've only played stellaris but I thought magic administrator points or what ever were suppose to be an abstraction of political details that would be impossible for a single person to manage. Like in crusader kings it makes sense to actually plot and task out an assassination, but in a game where you are running a whole empire, get 50 "assassination credits" that you can use later is fine.

* Respectfully Disagree *

>they took out most of FTL types
>never made anything resembling internal politics
>diplomacy is meaningless
>ai is shit and gets lots of free resources to function
>gave up on ever fixing lag
Still it is a really fun game in multiplayer even though being an example of Paradox being incompetent at fixing a game

should have just made Auroa with updated graphic

Factions are literally internal politics, so are policies. But that's not much.

lol if you bought CK2 years ago instead of just reading meme threads you would realise that since release (and theres one due soon) they have been releasing free updates for the game. Some free updates coincide with dlc (but you still get free stuff, and the giant map increases we have had has been massive), but many don't.

There are problems with imperator but the paradox dlc greed meme is just that, a dumb meme. Ill be honest I believed the meme at first but after a year of owning ck2 (bought around 2013 in a sale) I realised i was wrong.

Yeah the dlc is expensive if you want it (especially with EU), because they release updates for fucking years. Most games get minimal support.

compare to sports game 2018, sports game 2019 etc etc thats fucking greed, half the franchines are identical with just an amended roster.

>Yeah the dlc is expensive
each fucking DLC are bared bones as fuck, no reason to buy them at full price unless you want to be jewed
just be cause you support your games for a long time doesn't mean you can jew your customer

youtube.com/watch?v=HwnJ_2uW7Zg

60€ + 1500€ worth of DLCs.
Enjoy your Bloodlines 2 moneysuck.

The point is that in Stellaris it was fine since it was 4X and it was the idea of "you wanna advance, you have to be strategic about it".
EUIV was basically "use mana to do things". In EU3 it was "use gold and resources" as in "people", like agents but now it's all gone to use mana

I own it since launch - my point is that CK2 was the start of the snowball effect and nobody cared back then but now they do because they know how things go with Paradox.
They've had literal fucking years and user, the reason it's "supported" is because it's far, far easier to put out DLC for a game for 14.99 than it is to make a new game for 59.99

Some of the DLC is actually quite good but some of them are pointless and just greedy like the societies one - it was pointless and everyone just went for Satanism since it was and still is the most broken society

Policies are quite lacking though and ethics based factions are just for getting influence.
Actually in the launch version factions were more meaningful as they could have sector rebellions and such. Actually for monarchies there even were pretender crisises but for some reason they removed these and never continued in developing the game in that direction.

But now nobody is buying their games because they know their products are unfinished.

The problem is that the free updates often make the games worse without the dlc (for example Common Sense for EUIV).

>4 different mana pools bad
>lumping all your mana into one (money) good

there is a difference in accumulating abstract political power, or espionage power throughout your actions, developments, buildings, characters, technology and so on to spend them later for performing actions - that take time

and I:R when you spend mana for instant result. Comparing to Stellaris, in I:R you can spend mana to change you pop type - it's like spending mana to instant changing you pop spieces in Stellaris. In Rome you have to spend mana to conduct diplomacy, to interact witch characters, to make special actions with military. You want alliance in Stellaris, spend mana, want to destroy starport - spend mana, got it?

Also, in other games, in previous PDX games you accumulate more grounded resources, you gather spies, and develop them, so you can send them on a mission, you gather money to spend on army and country, you gather materials to build things. In PDX games you gather imaginary mana that you can spend on whatever. There is no build, no strategy involved, you get mana in a passive way - you can't influence it, and can spend in on whatever you want. Want to be spy master, stealthy, slimy as fuck backstabber - no problems, nothing is required from you, just spend mana. No playstyle involvement required. Want to be warmonger? Benevolent leader? Diplomatic powerhouse? No fucking problem, you do nothing to achieve this, you only have to spend mana points. And guess what - it's always the same points! See the problem, in other games when you want to execute specific tactic, you have invest in it, change you playstyle, be good in one thing and worse at other. Not here, no strategy, not tactics, nothing, imaginary mana points to the rescue every fucking time. Even more, even the simplest things now require you to spend mana.

And don't let me start with mana imbalance, where scroll mana is needed to make dozen of things, and sun mana only few, so you always lack only one resource when overflowing with other that you have no way of spending

upgrade your computer. I am so tried of you niggers with your btiching about not adding more areas because youre fucking laptop from 2007 cannot keep up.

lol. "This game has no content, how dare they include content".

Your brain damage is showing.

Was it autism?

>people bought it day one

>hurr durr, capitalism is the problem!
How fucking stupid are the fags that say this? Did you even compare capitalists vs socialist game development IRL? If we switch over to socialism, we're get no grand strategy at all instead of the one company we currently have.

how long did it take to you realize ''''''''''grand strategy''''''''''''''''''''' games are just menu simulators where you wait to your good numbers increase and bad numbers decrease

>paradox game
>ever good after the release

Why are you so suprised? Wait 2 years and buy all the DLCs and you got a good game.

>no vicky dicky 3 ever
Not sure I even want it from this kike company now

support Songs of Eons you faggots
much much more promise than paracock games

grand strategy= excel table+ ui

Lack of competition is right, they are literally peerless right now so they can afford to pull crap like this.

There's nothing wrong with menus. I just want my menus to be fun and historical. i.e., without all this mana bullshit.

>Italic factions have "Italic Military Traditions"
>Rome has "Italic Military Traditions"
>the fucking greek states in Magna Graecia have "Italic Military Traditions"
This shit fucking screams "buy the Greek / Roman / Italic flavor DLC for 7.99"
At first I felt kinda bad for pirating CK2 and EU4 but not anymore, either make a game that feels half-finished on it's won and doesn't require hundreds of dollars worth of dlcs to feel even remotely half-finished or don't make games at all

Attached: 1540398676934.jpg (574x863, 59K)

t. johan
go back to paradox forums johan!

>paying for a non-existent product

whew

Nothing wrong with that
the problem is when they intend to charge you more than what you would spend in a AAA microtransactions galore competitive multiplayer rpg battle royale

DUDE HOW ARE MINORITIES EVEN REAL
JUST SPEND SCROLL AND SUN MANA LMAO
CANT WAIT TO TURN ZULU WARRIORS INTO FRENCH ARISTOCRATS IN ONE DAY WHEN VICTORIA 3 COMES OUT

>>the fucking greek states in Magna Graecia have "Italic Military Traditions"
This is a blatant lie though, all greeks have greek traditions even the small colonies in spain and france

MINORITIES HATE HIM!
SEE HOW HE ASSIMILATED 100000 PEOPLE INTO HIS CULTURE WITH ONE SIMPLE TRICK

better change all french aristocrats into zulu warriors, that would be real improvement

But that would change victorian france into modern france

>entirety of egypt becomes macedonian over the course of the game because the AI freely spends mana to convert them all
Ah yes, believable worlds.

Attached: 1448236492384.png (600x800, 655K)

The last updates have been rough especially due to technical issues. 2.2 had the game stuttering for months and even after fixes is still not as smooth as before.

Now they already started talking about a new story pack DLC, I don't care because story packs are just additional content and don't change systems much but they better keep working on fixes in the free patch that accompanies the DLC, even the paradrones are waking up.

it is almost like one of those mobile phone clicker games, spend le mana to turn em around
they had so much potential to turn it into something more interesting, now its just a clickfest here and there
I do like the fact that you can choose to build roads with the military and can have them use different tactics depending on the general

Please give me a full list of the mana resources in this game, I want to laugh.
I'm betting after money there's shit like "senate approval" or "army morale" or whatever

Imperator Rome changed my opinion from "God I hope Paradox makes Vicky 3 next" to "God I hope Manadox never makes Vicky 3 ever".

WHEN ARE THEY GONNA MAKE VICTORIA 3??????????

we should just make our own grand strategy game at this point

>he didn't know

There are four mana types, with scroll mana being used for 90% of all actions in the game. Giving gifts to other characters requires scroll mana.

here's the game you cucks
youtube.com/watch?v=f_WmeMxCS00

first intelligent thing said here

I wanted to laugh but I'm sad now.
I don't think this is something you fix with DLC, the base game sounds fucked.

It's the paradox business model. People buy their broken shit and 5 years and 200 dollars later you're still buying their DLC and glorified patches.

>He doesn't think you can actually transform a bunch of niggers into the new """french""" aristocacry

You guys all seem to not be mentioning how absolutely horrible the combat in the game is. Last time I checked it was just all Combat readiness numbers or whatever and it was total bullshit.

Only a real moron would think gold is mana.

they've been fucking up for the best part of a decade since they started their shitty DLC policy with CK2 and have only gotten worse about it with every subsequent title.

jew = capitalist

People aren't buying the game because of the shitty reviews and literally nobody ever buys any of their DLC because it can be easily pirated on a legit copy.

Yes, and they're doing their job poorly, because any day now some entrepreneur will see the wide dissatisfaction of the fanbase and create a new grand strategy game development company, driving Paradox out of business.
You know, like what Paradox themselves did to SimCity?

I’m enjoying it. Had a 20 year long war with Macedonia over greece. They just kept spamming mercenaries and I nearly lost but pulled out a victory and got most of greece. Now I’m swimming with denarii.

how can i talk about combat in this game, when AI is unable to wage war?

You fabricate claim, put your army on the border, in response AI kindly waits for you to declare your war, then proceeds to run with unpaid troops from your fully paid and combat ready troops amassed at the border. Fails miserably, losses most of it's army, then proceeds to hire mercenary's that you either: wipe out as they are recruited, observe as they run around from siege to siege not finishing any of them, but loosing their manpower to attrition. At this point war is over, and you only have to mop up.

If after initial month or two of war with you AI still has any fighting capability you proceed to detach 1k stacks from your main army, sacrifice them to the enemy to check what combat tactic they got, and hard counter them with your proper army.

It's just fucking comedic... AI have no clue what he is suppose to do, has no awareness of situation around it, does not fucking nothing. Combat in this game is irrelevant since you win wars way way way before you even declare them.

Besides mana, which they are already going to lessen the instant gratification of in the next major patch, it has several glaring issues
The worst offender is the fact that it was obviously released as a basic framework on purpose so they can shovel dlc on it for 4 years to make it deeper. This is made worse because there is a decent framework there which could be a very deep and interesting game with trade, pop management, country building, politics, and religion.
The UI is atrocious for a company who has this level of experience in making UIs
Related to the basic framework present, no individual nation is unique right now. Various states should have various unique techs, or national ideas, or military ideas, or different ideas and events for populations.
Politics is fucked. Claim/CB system has somehow been stripped to nothing despite EU4 and CK2 having tons of these. It's basically "pay scrolls to claim one enemy province" but taking more than that province is not costly enough so bobbing has never been easier. And there's no real way to politically punish an opponent through rebel support (incredibly bare and only available to Major Powers) or economic sanctions or anything

It's a shame because it has the potential if they decide to truly rework mana to be less of an instant thing. The base is there for deeper character management that should he expanded to marriages between nations and such, and the army system with troop types and tactics is pretty good.

Americans about to rage ITT

Despite the memes, the grand strategy market isn't big enough to support another company like paradox. There technically are "competitors" now, they're just all garbage.

>any day now
aaaaaaaaaannnyyyy day now....

Attached: DNsXXq9.jpg (400x400, 92K)

>make yet another unfinished pile of trash that's clearly going to be drowned in 15€ DLC with one or two new menus
>people only get mad this time around

Attached: 1550391514296.png (546x432, 161K)

Hourly Remider that TW3K already outsells Imperator. Pax Sinica!

>apples are outselling oranges

Field of Glory: Empires will be the game Imperator should have been.

They got mad the other times, too.
This exact process has happened with EU4, Stellaris and HOI4 already, there's anger for a while at the barebones broken game that is released, and then it simmers down and gradually goes away as all but the die hard fans give up and leave. The criticism becomes more and more muted, with sudden spikes whenever a new DLC releases and people come back to check if the game's good yet. Eventually, many months or even years later, after a whole bunch of DLCs, it actually is finally an OK game and some of the initial players finally start playing it for real. Or they give up and stop even checking on it. Either way the only people left commenting are fairly positive.

>Or they give up and stop even checking on it.
I gave up on giving money to paradox after Vicky 2. Those DLCs are a joke and even back then I wondered why people were still hoping for a 3. Fuck Paradox and fuck all the stupid niggers who keep giving that shithole money

Attached: 1548523426901.jpg (1012x750, 209K)

I’m not falling for Paradox’s scheme anymore. I love their games, but they(as well as Firaxis) have a trend of releasing strategy games with a fleshed out early game and a weak/non-existent mid and late game. Obviously they use a DLC model to fix this but it’s getting old.
I’ll buy this game eventually, but just as suspected it’s unfinished and mana dependent(not a deal breaker for me but a disappointment nonetheless). Stellaris is one of my favorite games now, but even still it’s unfinished. Night and day difference with 2.2 compared to vanilla. Im sure Imperator will be the same, but I’ll wait 2 or 3 years and a Steam sale to find out

Ah for fuck sake I was going to pirate this and check if it was worth buying soon.

Attached: 1505479629079.jpg (294x278, 33K)

They got away with it in CK2 for a variety of reasons (part of that is because the game is actually pretty good and still within the realm of being challenging and provides a lot of options for a 4x).
Most the other shit they've come out with have not been to form, have been casualized or outright changed halfway through the life cycle of the title.
This massive shift from making a solid, hardcore game that happens to have a long life cycle via its dlc is not what they're doing with their newer games, and it makes it much easier to criticize the mod when it's obvious how shitty their games are now (especially without dlc to fix/return missing content).

because it was apart of the known world at the time.

For me, it's dominating Roman Legions that dare to march into Macedonia

Attached: 1539127720212.png (1400x1050, 645K)

actually imperator rome is literally the same game as EUR so if they could remake it that would be sweet.

Retards who started with EU3/V2 or later finally figured out Paradox business model.

> Jews invent system that's only purpose is to benefit Jews
> don't blame the Jews, bro. Blame the system
