Because it’s way easier to draw. Like waaaay easier. Pic related is an eye done in realistic style. Compare this to anime eyes which take like one min to draw each. If you want to start to learn to draw just start with anime honestly until you get good. Nothing wrong with people who prefer to stay in it though. They care more about their ideas than the tools used. But yeah it’s much easier to draw. It’s like easy vs nightmare (realistic) mode.

Absolutely, but the face gets the most criticism because of how simplified it is, especially with drawings that have highly details, overdesigned clothing compared to the whole lot of nothing on the face.
