I finally picked up a PS3 after all this time. Looking for some recommendations

It's a fairly unique series where you set up traps to massacre all those who intrude upon your lair. Ideally, you set traps in such a way that victims are knocked into the path of other traps or hazardous room features, creating long combos. There are a ton of traps to use, and there's a lot of room for experimentation and creativity. You generally need to use yourself as bait, and traps are activated manually, so there's quite a bit more action than just setting traps and waiting to see the results.

Nightmare Princess in particular also has a huge amount of content. It's arguably a bit repetitive depending on how fond you are of the core gameplay, but the challenge/puzzle mode and second storyline had enough unique features to keep me interested. The plot is a little weak compared to the first two entries, and the tone is off a bit, but it has the best gameplay in the series by a significant margin.

You really should return that and just get a ps4. Most of the good ps3 games got remastered for ps4

A 160gb slim. For the PSP, I just loaded some flashware onto the memory that I need to run in order to play emulated games. Is it more or less the same process?

if its above 3.56 you cant install cfw in it with just software, you'll need a hardware flasher to downgrade it then install cfw.

Super slim certainly feels cheap but do they have any problems? I'd guess the disc door could be an issue.

Super Slims for reliability.
Slims for not looking and feeling like fisherprice. Just make sure the bluray drive works and thermal paste isn't totally dried up.

alternatively you can disable 1080p in settings. this gives you higher framerate in some games.

I still have my original FAT which I got 9 years ago. Still works no problems at all, despite it being in heavy use for years.

To this day I cant install cfw on my PS3, everytime I try it freezes on me and forces me to do a restart that prompts me to a system recovery screen.
This happened more than 5 times and I just gave up, maybe it was because I had one of those premium themes installed or something, i dunno.
Its not like im missing much, the only games I wanted to play were Puppeteer, GoW Ascension, Eternal Konata, 3D dot game Heroes and Folklore.

I honestly don't understand why this is an issue. There was an array of relatively low profile PS3 titles that came out at the end of it's cycle that deserve more attention. If anything this current generation should encourage people to revisit the console since PS3 games for very low prices these days.
