Any advice for hard mode?
Any advice for hard mode?
dont play it
Get the hardtype mod or just
First time player here, I'm getting slapped enough as it is on normal. Even more shamefully I savestate a lot, what with wild Mamudoons flying around from a surprise attack.
>Never play this series before
>decide to try SMT4 since I have a 3DS and Jack Frost is a charming little dude
>Starts as a faggy ass anime game
>becomes this fucking glorious Silent Hill x Resident Evil tone once you get to the city
>All the dungeons are designed as actual like city streets and shit rather then the usual JRPG hallways
>That gameplay system is much more satisfying then the usual jrpg slog
How does this game compare to SMT4?
One of the most beautiful, atmospheric and tough as nails games you'll find on the system.
A little rougher than the SMTs that came after, but it's all worth the effort. We've yet to get a SMT that rivals it in design and production values.
I'm playing on my PS2 so no mods.
Well its the only full 3D SMT game, fusion is s bit dated but the atmosphere and gameplay are 10/10.
is hardtype good? i might commit to an 80 hour replay in, like, 10 minutes
God this game is so fucking gorgeous it makes me mad. Art style>grafix.
>No overworld enemies
>No smirk
>That shitty hallway level design
Why do we like this trash again?
Pray and hope you get lucky
Drink of the wine of the wrath of god
Snoys exclusive
Indeed.
Great art design that works around the limitations of the hardware makes for something timeless.
use buffs retort
Get a demon with Mana Refill and Makatora to keep your team's MP up in long dungeons. Mana Refill is also just in general really good on a healer, and Daisoujou with Makatora accomplishes the same thing. Doing this saves you tons of money on MP healing items and trips to the healing shrine, which you'll need because prices on Hard mode are fucking stupid
Nuh uh, later. As I've probably already locked myself into the True Demon ending by being an indecisive lost lamb, I have the autism to play through the game again on hard and worry about actual strats then. That being said, is there some sort of NG+ system in the game? Collecting all the magatamas again sounds like a bitch.
>he thinks he can get through the game without buffs
lol
how do you guys go through the different routes?
separate playthroughs? new game+? reload old saves? just look the other ones up?
You keep your compedium.
WORLD OF STR
I only followed Hikawa and TDE, other reasons were too dumb imo
fpbp
Post your favorite demons.
I hope you didn't go for a magic build because then your fucked. If you did you better get some physical skills and Pierce ASAP.
I don't know man, Focus + Deathbound has been shitting on everything for a long time now. Obviously I have someone throw out Fog Breath or occasional Tarukajas if the demons I brought along have them. I'm probably overleveled to hell though, Demi-Twit is at 66 while I'm reaching the end of Diet Building.
Shesha?
My only advice is try to be a completion and don't be opposed to overpowered bullshit like Daisoujou. Hard mode was a quick addition in Mainiax, it's something they put actual effort into.
Everything in the shops costs three times the price. Normally shops are only really important in the early game but this also means every magatama is also three times the price now. In normal mode their price was never too much of a problem but as you get later into the game you just won't have the macca to afford them. Don't grind them out, they'll take some serious time to, either skip getting Masakado or if you're really that uptight wait until the end to grind for macca and only get what you absolutely need.
The encounter rate is stupid as fuck and you basically can't run from battles. You get a skill that reduces back attacks, I forget what magatama gets it, but get it. You'll be having encounters every couple steps, if you don't want to abuse the fiends being overpowered prepared to get annoyed quickly.
Hard mode is more tedious then anything. It's kind of fun in the beginning but once you really get into it it'll feel like a slightly more annoying normal mode.
>no smirk
Smirk is literally only a decent mechanic in one game, it's straight retarded in 4
Just fuse a demon with traesto.
