Don't tell anyone but Estoc is a surprisingly good mounted weapon as you can couch it. Only problem is that it does 90 damage to level 3 chests. You one shot anyone below that, and one shot level 3 heads.

If someone attacks you with a right horizontal slash, before it hits you you may do your own right horizontal slash. If you time it right you chamber, you counter their attack and hit them instead. its like a parry and reposte.

Better. You can also pick the voice you want and change the pitch. There are several different lines for each voice command per voice. One of the Knight's "Sorry" lines for example is "Out of my way, squire!"

I honestly wish these multiplayer melee games would do something other than directional combat, its really stupid feeling even when you learn it. It such a shame because the customization is fantastic but its another one of those games some people will get so good at that anyone who hasnt put the same time in will simply not even stand a chance, like, there is absolutely no way for them to kill you if they cant morph attacks and chamber, meaning the playerbase will die on its ass really quickly as it always does and if you arent playing now and join a month later odds are you are going to have a bad time.

Some people seem to have some trouble with spears. I played footman while the gold/exp was going on because it was the closest thing to the billhook the stock classes had so here's some ideas on how to kill spearniggers, from a former spearnigger.

Self explanatory. Just run right up to them and then run around them while swinging at them. This also works against 90% of the non-spear playerbase as well.

Chambering thrusts is easy as shit. Spearniggers have no choice but to thrust if they want to do a modicum of damage. If you already know what attack they're doing, chambering becomes 1000 times easier.

I bought this game a day ago and god it's so fun. I've done nothing but play protector in frontline mode over and over and it's constantly a blast. Feels like a real battle, constantly pushing back and forth, battling on ramparts and in the open.

Iron company has the better color scheme.

Not him but Ive been playing since before its full release, wait till everyone realizes how busted feints and chambering is in this and how unfun it becomes when everyone is doing it, the game is fun now with the mix of good and bad players, but once you start seeing every fight is several people coming at you that know feinting the game gets real stupid. This stuff is built around 1v1 fights and yet every game mode has you facing multiple enemies at once alongside other players, its weird none of these games ever build around this and feel more like they should just be 1v1 duelling games exclusively, none of these games develop some kind of mechanic for team play or dealing with multiple targets, like a bodycheck or bash that if that it lands knocks one guy over while you deal with the other sort of thing.

The key is to treat bows less like sniper rifles and more like machine guns.
Stick with a group. Any group just follow them. When fights happen, you are close enough to not have to aim high or compensate. Stay behind the leg breakers and shoot holes in the enemies they attack. Close up volume of fire.

First, set the ping limit to something like 60-80.
Then, if you're trying to find a Frontline match, try not joining the official servers. The official servers get fed in to by matchmaking, and your spot isn't reserved in the server during the load time, so the result is that the server will full by the time you're done loading.
If all else fails, just play TDM or something, it's easy as shit to get in to those servers.

Don't skip the tutorial. After you've played through it the first time, go and do the sword combat section again.
Friendly fire IS a thing in pretty much every server and it's easy to do with weapons that have a wide swing, so don't hit your allies.

Spear is ezmode if you want kills, but will teach you bad habits, while Longsword classes are good for properly learning the game. You have to unlock stuff for your customized character, but the default classes have everything you need to not be at a disadvantage.

Weapons are ultra cheap.

Armor is super expensive but you start with light, medium and heavy armor. So nothing important is hard to get.

To be honest this exp system seems tacked on since zoomers can play a game with a gear treadmill which is why it isnt grindy except for cosmetic changes.

It's definitely grindy if you want a flashy looking build.
