Nah probably not. It's only as good as its community is active, the best parts of it were when new levels were actively being made/shared and there were hundreds of people online you could just quick join and explore levels with in a party
The story mode stuff isn't awful but it's made to demo the level builder/assets more than anything

I don't know about 3 or Vita, but 1 and 2 are kinda nice and all, worth playing if you really like plataforming and customization or if you have someone to play with. If community is still active and servers are up this games are amazing and worth playing even if you are going solo.

This, its one of those games that you play for the online not the single player.
It's pointless to play any of them since dreams is playable now anyways
Some people MIGHT be making levels in LBP3 but I imagine most of them moved on to dreams.

1 and 2 are absolutely fantastic. I haven't played 3 so I can't say anything about that one. Now it's only fun if you have friends or don't mind playing alone. The online is full of edgy teenagers who use it as a chatroom rather than a game. 2 was my favorite.

Unless you really care about platformers and want to go through the best of the community made stuff, then probably not.
They all have this hand crafted feel to the story levels, especially in 1, which might be appealing to you.

It's a bit like saying CSGO isn't the same as original CS, while that's true original CS is basically dead and these are games that rely on an online community to work.
Its pointless to buy LBP games now as the appeal (online level making/sharing) is dead.
The storymode for these games has and always was just a clever way to get you the materials and items to make the online levels.
Don't let your nostalgia trick someone into wasting their money.

The first two are. The third one single handedly killed the entire franchise because it was so bad. I went back online after a year of inactivity and no one seems to be making quality levels anymore.
The game itself is just a glitchy train wreck. I tried to delete an object with a custom weapon and I almost hard locked every spawn point in my game.

The PSP game is excellent and I'm currently playing 3 right now. 3 is buggy and has some stupid gimmicks, but it's not bad.
