The difficulty curve is artificial.
You can do the whole Shadow hearts combat system thing the main character uses to attack and perfect it and hit 4 times. Doing fucking nothing for damage. Then you can do it again next turn and fuck it all up. hit once and hit the enemy for 70% of their health. Combat makes no fucking sense in this game.

20 hours, starts easy and gets easier. Only one fight in the game is “hard” because the boss starts off reducing everyone’s hp to one and then does an AoE attack as a free action.

You know a game has good writing when a character just sits you down and recites the plot aloud to you

The music sounds like they tried to do a bit of Lisa and a bit of undertale with a bit of earthbound and managed to fuck up all of them.

This game is already a failure. The creator knows this. Maybe one more sale will make him feel better so he can do better on the next one. He just needs more developers with actual talent, because his concept worked but his writing and game design failed completely.
