Not yet. Still trying to finish Trails of Heroes in the Sky third but the story really isn't taking of (currently at the point where you visit Jenis Royal Academy and bring back the color). After that I have to finish Tales of Vesperia which I stopped playing after leaving the arena city due to boredom.
Yea Forums said the Utawarerumono games have a strong story and I look forward to that even if the gameplay is slow.

Utawarerumono is very, very slow story wise. There is not much gameplay at all. I would look at the first hour or so to see if you'd like it. Take peoples word to check things out, don't take peoples word to actually buy something.

Slow like 40 hours intro like Trails of Heroes in The Sky 1? Or even slower? That's hard to imagine when hltb has 50 hours as the median for the main story.

There's 3 uta games, the first one is fairly short while 2&3 basically form one big story. People say the second game drags on a bit, it's a 30-35 hour read and the middle part has a lot of slice of life things happening, I'd say that maybe 15 hours in the middle of the second game can be slow, but the ending part and the third game can get pretty crazy.

Story doesn't pick up till the last bit of the 2nd game, and the 3rd game something like 80 hours. Either way check out the first hour or so, and that'll give you idea how the story is going to be for a while.

The sex scenes is unironically one of the weakest parts of the original PC game. Only one of the scenes can actually be considered canon anyways so it's not like it would hurt the story to remove them.
