OP here. Pichu is as non-iconic and non-popular as Ivysaur, maybe a bit more because of the Pikachu evolution line but still. Getting rid of all the non-iconic/non-popular characters (regardless of whether it's one or five) and replacing them with more iconic and popular Pokemon like Garchomp or Absol would fix Smash representation.

Pokemon is in a pretty weird position with Smash since it has enough characters to spawn its own fighting games. There's just too much to choose from and plenty of non-starters/legendaries are iconic among people who actually play the games.

Every franchise should have all of their main protagonists and antagonists. So, if there's a main protag/antag missing, I want that one.

Saki should just come back as an assist trophy, Sin and Punishment is pretty irrelevant these days. Not that relevancy is an argument, but K. Rool is at least from fucking Donkey Kong, not a series with 1 US release on the Wii over a decade ago.
