Ive been out of the emulating scene for 8 years. Heard there was a crackdown on sites, and while roms are still easy to find most cd based game pages seem filled with crap, or links stating its no longer available. Torrents are dead. So where do you guys go for your stuff nowadays?

Attached: $_86.jpg (1024x673, 176K)

the first several results on google for any particular game are still hosting the same roms and isos. literally nothing has actually changed.

>So where do you guys go for your stuff nowadays?

haha, nice try buddy

Hell you fagget fuck

hello nintendo where the FUCK is pokemon sword and shield

:3

Q4 2k19

Fuck off, shill.

Why does Nintendo want their older games to be lost to history? They're not re-releasing all of them. If all ROMs were Thanos'd from the internet, then most non-Zelda, non-Mario, non-Metroid games would be fucked.

Culturally valuable intellectual property should enter the public domain as soon as the copyright holder is no longer interested in preserving it.

there was a crackdown mostly started by nintendo and it will probably continue so get'em while they're here cause I don't think the emulation scene, or at least the "mainstream" scene, will be around much longer

Yeh but they are interested in preserving it. That's why they release new Metroid, Mario and Zelda games.

wow you're so clever lol

Obviously I'm referring to all the other games.

Nice try Nintendo, get fucked

Internet Archive has 'em. Can't be taken down, protected by US Congress.
Based America.

Bad wording. Correction: Individual copyrighted works (but not necessarily all associated intellectual property) should enter the public domain as soon as the copyright holders are no longer interested in preserving them. I don't think anyone would argue that Mario himself should no longer be trademarked, but if Nintendo were to decide never to re-release the original Mario Bros game ever again, that particular game should be stripped of its copyright so as to be preserved by pirates who are the only people who seem capable of preserving anything.

Does archive.org actually have Nintendo game ROMs?

Hey chucklefuck as someone who likes fucking niche games pirates can only preserve normie shit.

I got a collection of
NES
SNES
GB
GBA
and SEGA (did not care about dreamcast, maybe they have them)
All No-Intro and unedited roms.

>a multinational company caring about anything but money

So you've never emulated a niche game?

Convince me to start stealing software.

I've always been hard anti piracy but some of these older games are ridiculously priced.

Basically I was the autistic kid with a Saturn while my friends had real systems and I sold that shit as fast as I could when PS2 dropped but I'd like to play Panzer Dragoon Saga and Enemy Zero again.

>stealing

Nintendo doesn't get money when you buy a rare cartridge from eBay. If the game industry had its way, buying second-hand games would be just as illegal as piracy. I don't think there's anything wrong with file-sharing when those files are no longer being sold by the publisher. It certainly doesn't hurt the publisher at all, unless they eventually re-release the game you pirated, but if that happens and you feel bad about it then you can buy that re-released version when it comes out.

>So where do you guys go for your stuff
I remember weird posters asking about heroin and cocaine in the past. Nice try, officer.

whoa, the jake paul twins both got arrested?

>Yeh but they are interested in preserving it.
no their not

Companies don't want to waste time and effort on legacy support. Even microsoft got tired of that despite their incredibly wealth.

Nice try officer. But you'll have to use gamer lingo to fool us.

Slick = safe source
Smarf = Malware/disreputable
Bits = Nes games
Bytes = SNES/Genesis games
Megabytes = N64/PS1 games
Moby Dicks = Rare games like CD-I
GBJ = Always say this is where you hang out, it's code to know it's safe
Fucking Gamestop = Signals there's been a crackdown, everything in these threads is coded
Duck in Gamestop = Police monitoring threads

You'll have to find out more on your own.
