What is good about FFXIV? It's stiff as shit, forces you to do a bunch of shitty fetch quests, combat is standard boring tab target, you can't interact with the environment and has tons of invisible walls, zero physics to speak off so exploring is boring as shit, it forces you to go through a horrible single player story mode to play the multiplayer portion, SE knows their story quests are boring as fuck so they added cash shop items to skip it, the endgame is a gear treadmill with timegates and RNG to artificially extend it, the raids are simon says with 7 other people who will zone out, and people treat it more like a necessary job they dread doing than an actual game.
The MMO genre is fucked. I'm glad it's getting killed by the BR genre because every MMO game focuses more some of the worst predatory actions to milk people of money.
