out of 10-11 matches I've played I thought the gameplay was incredible slow and clunky until I hit one match with good connection and realized how shit the multiplayer is

I wanted him but it's understandable why it wasn't him. He was "dead" in the story for a good four years and he's not even an antagonist anymore, while Elidizenos and Elezenos are still going around. Plus Yoshi is a nostalgiafag that doesn't like the Garlean gunblades.

Besides, Dissidia like all fucking fighting and crossover games cares more about popularity than anything else so it was obvious Zenos would get in since Japan loves him and they don't care about Gaius.
Same why the literally who miniboss from FF11 got in as FF11 villain rep, simply because he's popular in Japan even though he was less than a second fiddle antagonist in his expansion.

Sure, but he's not even Top 5 in Japan so he's never getting in.
Besides the game is literally hardcoded at exactly 50 character slots internally (we know this from PC version datamining).
We also know the missing 012 characters are going to be added in DLC since they have a lot of placeholder data.
That only leaves a handful of remaining slots for newcommers and I guarantee you any newcommers won't be villains if a game already has a villain rep.
So at best you can expect Ardyn as villain rep for FF15 at this point in terms of villains, everything else will be heroes or ambiguous characters.

"Sephiroth" is following what Jenova fucking wanted all along. It was shown that Jenova can mentally dominate those injected with her cells. When Sephiroth fell in the Lifestream the two assimilated each other and became the same being.

The reason for that is he considers himself Jenova's successor after learning of the circumstances of his creation (being made from Jenova's DNA) and thus decided to do what his "mother" did.
There is no mental domination involved, Word of God explicitly says so.
