I know Yea Forums doesn’t care and hate this game (me too honestly this game will always make me pissed whenever I think about it) but the cancelled DLC got turned into a novel and they literally retconned the entire ending of Final Fantasy XV . Luna is resurrected . Ardyn was actually a good guy all along and Bahamut was the real big bad. Noctis, Luna, Ardyn and Aranea team up and kill Bahamut and since Ardyn is somehow linked to Bahamut he dies too but he gets a good guy send off and is remembered as the first hero/king of Insomnia or whatever. Noctis and Luna get married and have kids .
Thank God this shitshow is finally over for good .

That's exactly what this is. FF15 is most likely the single biggest financial shitshow that Square has ever been involved in. The dev time was what, 10 years? And this isn't like Duke Nukem Forever where the devs sat around, collecting checks with their thumbs up their asses. Every trailer for FFv13 and then FF15 was a different build of the game, meaning that they kept going back and reinventing the thing because Nomura can't ever come up with an idea and commit to it.
So this goes on and on for years until they finally take the project from him and have someone else finish it. They didn't just release all the DLC, the anime series, the movie, three separate mobile games and all the other shit because the game was an unfinished mess with no functioning story. They had to squeeze some sheckles out of this shit show before the game did to the company what Spirits Within did in 2001.

What game breaking bug in FF3? Literally ALL versions of FF4 3D are capped at 15 FPS in combat (30 FPS outside of combat otherwise), not just PC so that ain't a bug. You can also increase it to 30 FPS in combat through hex editing, though that makes the ATB charge faster so you need to lower the ATB speed in options to compensate. FF7 port doesn't have the music restart bug you mention, literally ancient information. FF8 source code was literally lost cause Squaresoft was incompetent and wiped all their hard drives to make room for FF9 and FF10, literally and unironically. FF9 again doesn't have the bug on PC. FF10 HD PC port used PS4 as base and added new features on top of that, while Shitbox and Shitch ports use the PS4 base so they're identical to PS4 version. FF12 """new""" features are just license reset and gambit presets, the former is done with mods on PC, the lack of latter kinda sucks but is not a dealbreaker since you generally won't ever need more than 1 gambit set anyway to steamroll the game.

No, the ending just shows that Ardyn factually WAS a good guy, that was never disputed even in FF15's main story itself. Ardyn has genuine sad expression as he tells you tl;dr of his backstory at end of Chapter 13 which makes it obvious he's not lying and then when you reunite with the group in Hammerhead in Chapter 14 before going to Insomnia, you have a bunch of optional dialogues with Talcott and the group and you learn from it that they did some tomb raiding and found evidence that Ardyn was a legit good guy that got usurped and wiped from history by an illegitimate king. Furthremore in the Phase 3 of the fight against him (the "cinematic" one where you're both slow moving and shit) Noctis even says something like "ill drag out of darkness, return to light as a kind and noble king you once were" and shit. The DLC makes it explicitly clear that he went insane from grief, revenge and the Starscourge corruption as absorbing people like he does in the DLC causes him to get their memories but they start meshing with his own and fucking with his head.
I haven't even played his DLC and I thought all that was pretty clear just from the base game. I really don't get how anyone didn't understand it.

They aren’t going to do the steel ball run anime. If you look at the very beginning of the sono chi no sadame it runs through manga but panels of “all” the main jojos. Starting with Jolyne and ending with Jonathan. I think the started doing the anime because they could go through part 6 and “end” the series. Meaning it wouldn’t just go on forever. Remember part 7 wasn’t even suppose to be jojo originally. Araki was making sbr as its own story staring Gyro, jonny was suppose to be a minor side character that later got promoted to mc after fans clammored for more stands and jojo.
The world we see at the end of part 6 is not the sbr universe. It is it’s own independent universe that simply acts as the ending for the original run of Jojo.

There are some nice aspects to the game for sure, but as a whole they chopped it up so much that very little of what should have been there remains. Over half the story is missing, most characters were shoved out of the game, combat is beyond boring with major mechanics missing (magic, weapon upgrading, etc), and world design took a turn for the worse on purpose. Even something as great as the OST is fouled up by how they implemented it within the game, songs overlapping and balance issues run rampant over what is a very good soundtrack.

ATB is a halfway point between turn-based and real-time combat.
Square was never rooted in turn-based mechanics, it was just that they couldn't do much else for a while. But as soon as the tech allowed them to branch out and make more complex games and systems, you got shit like Parasite Eve and Brave Fencer Musashi
Square still makes turn-based games, and clearly sees value in them, but they've been slowly moving from turn-based to real-time combat in their major titles since the beginning.

I don't know if X was built from the ground up to have this kind of expanded universe content glued on to it, but I'm fairly sure XIII was. At that point you can say it's a concerted effort from Square's part to make what were once one-time games into sprawling settings spanning multiple games, which I don't think anybody really wanted them to. XII was a little like that, but that one is an oddity because it ties into a previously existing Tacticsverse rather than creating it on its own, and the sequel it got was a sidegame for portables and not a full blown mainline-esque title on a main console.
