literally soul vs soulless

>Closed bolt
>Straight blowback
>Worse than an AR in every single way

So uhh... why does this thing exist?

looks futuristic

looks like a butchered ump45
what were they thinking?

desu this
B&T makes cool/good shit but there are other 9mm/45 smgs out there that do it better

looks cool
like an UMP 45 and an SG 553 that had a baby.

Is that a Brugger&Thomet?

What’s wrong with close bolt for an SMG? I’m an aspiring gunlet.

>The US never adopted the G11.
What a sad world in which we live.

>0 mention of this on /k/
why do you post clickbait user?

You don't get to take advantage of advanced primer ignition and it complicates the design of the bolt and trigger mechanism.

google "apc9k army" you goober

Dumb noguns here. What's the difference between closed and open bolt operation? All I know is the one sort can't fire through propellers and I have no idea which or why

who will use it? i remember DoD was trying to get a new gun contract to replace the m16/m4 years back. weapons like scar and rifles with 6.8 rounds was among them. did anything fruitful came out of it? fuck no.

MP5 is way sexier and more useful desu

>cheapskate US adopting overpriced B&T guns

LOL no

m16 is all you need

mp5 is too fucking good to be abandoned bruv

The roleplay board is /k/

What exactly are the benefits of G11 for the soldier on the field?

With modern carbine ARs so small/light what's the point of an SMG for the military? Who is supposed to use these?

That's one ugly gun, user

>magwell larger than magazine
this is why i hate 9mm ARs as well

The gun is kinda cool in concept and carrying loads of ammo would be fairly eassy as it is caseless, but I would not want to take that bastard apart I hate cleaning my guns anyway

Attached: 007.jpg (1600x1200, 370K)

Open bolt guns have their firing pin milled onto the face of the bolt. The trigger holds the entire bolt under spring tension until the trigger is pulled. At this point the bolt moves forward, strips a round from the magazine, feeds it into the chamber and the round is fired close to when the bolt finishes its forward travel.

AND it's lighter AND it has less recoil because its blowback operation is better AND it has more tooling and aftermarket support AND more armourers have already been trained on it.

Women.

looks like a ump45 honestly. It'll be yet anouther unremarkable smg

>lemme copy your homework real quick.jpg

Personnel with seriously limited carry space. SMG's a lot shorter than even a carbine-type AR, so it's easier to fit inside a vehicle. So tank crews, heli pilots, that sort of folk.

They aren't as compact as you might think. Plus with straight blowback it's bound to be almost as heavy.

Attached: P1070032.jpg (1023x1022, 376K)

Yeah, but nowadays "pistol" AR-SBRs exist who pack a lot more punch at the same size

Attached: 5d99e6e8f6a3f1f795254c2b64182a9e.jpg (640x480, 58K)

>magwell looks like it accepts standard 5.56 STANAG
>nope only chambered for 9mm and 45 ACP

why the fuck is the mag well so big?

>MP5 with fully extended stock
>ARs with collapsed stock
Nice "comparison" there

Attached: gu.png (1020x1816, 2.27M)

everyone sees that, point is it's not as small as one could expect. Take the stocks away and they are nearly just as big.

I don't think the weight's much of an issue, since the vehicle won't care about an extra kg or two. It's just the length. But yeah even that isn't that much of a difference so I dunno.

Hmm I wonder if there's ever been a company that's maybe invented a folding stock, but like for an intermediate caliber rifle?

>Take the stocks away and they are nearly just as big
Lmao. What are you talking?

>Take the stocks away
it's not that simple, noguns

With AK and other designs? Yes. But the stock on the AR is an important part of mechanism of the gun, you can't just remove it.

Attached: IODM15P7KM_1__64754.1514393800.jpg (960x600, 26K)

Take the stocks away and they are the same size. Ever seen a firearm before? Changing a stock isn't a two minute job, you can put a fixed stock on the mp5
literally is, ar just has a retarded design

Behold the best rifle ever made
>chad 7.62
>pretty
>more durable than a AK

Attached: parafal.png (1342x895, 205K)

>more durable than a AK
Then why Israel made an AK clone to replace it? Check mate goyim

>a singular grain of sand jams you

Skeleton stocks suck though.

It makes sense to adopt closed bolt. Retards ND the 249 and 240 all the time just by shaking it. Especially on crows. Its safer to be ready in a close enviroment with a closed bolt.

>literally is, ar just has a retarded design
no, it isn't. you don't simply lose overall length by removing an ARs stock because the buffer tube is permanent. it's not a design defect, it's the most combat proven rifle alongside the AK and will still be the default combat rifle of any relevant military 50 years from now. it's a fucking timeless design until revolutionary shit like lasers / energy weapons.

G36c is the peak rifle

>melts in mildly hot weather until minimal full auto use

okay but all this is pointless. Original claim was that mp5 is similiar in size and it is. Of course it's smaller, but the point was that it's not smaller enough to justify using it anywhere over the ar

Don't mind me, just being the greatest SMG of all time

Attached: Sterling-MK4-660x495.jpg (660x495, 122K)

If that were true, they'd use it.
But they don't, and it's not

>[laughs in spurdo]

Attached: RK.jpg (498x316, 43K)

AKs was made by commies for commies

Attached: rFIbMaZ.jpg (1000x797, 313K)

they what now?

>350 of them
No it wont be the new MP5

>muh slightly fancier AK
wow finland well done, truly amazing

these are so fucking expensive in the us it isnt even funny

Attached: 1556412924848.jpg (3930x2611, 1022K)

>over the ar
Yes because the AR with buffer tube is pretty long. But for gun like the Aks-74u it's pretty much the same size with folded stock.

Attached: 49652244_321989451759490_336274827694877163_n.jpg (1080x1140, 182K)

No one even makes contemporary shooters anymore so I doubt it

>I believe in memes

And thank fucking lord for that

looks like a manlet UMP

You're saying the mp5 isn't significantly smaller than ARs that armor and flight crews are justified in using it.
That is bullshit, because they very clearly do use it, and if they could use ARs, they would.

Fuck you. The (main) reason CoD and BF suck so bad nowadays is because of the regression to grandpa wars. I don't want to roll around in the mud with a gun that looks like it's made of rusted piping.

>if they could use ARs, they would
So the mp5 isn't significantly smaller, yes that is what I have been saying. Replacing armaments isn't a simple task so that is the only reason it has stayed

Guncels out

noguns /k/ys

I wish we had more AK and AR hybrids.

CoD is shitty futuristic
BF is shitty grandpa wars

I just want modern wars like MW and BF3/4

Honestly it looks really close to a UMP45 and UMP9

Right I forgot about Blops10 or whatever. Near future can be fine but Blops is not it for me.

very educational user thanks.

*is either the most OP thing in the game or the worst thing in the game*
*but still is the sexiest gun ever*

Aren't SMGs obsolete these days?

great way to spot autistic people at the range.

Remember the basics of CQC

can't think if any game where it sucks
yeah, they'll come tell you they don't want a gun because it doesn't look like a gun

oh hi I upgraded your stamped metal gun

Attached: m3a1.jpg (2612x1233, 645K)

This thing shreds zeds in Killing Floor 2
eats way too much ammo thought, like the P90.
400 rounds goes too fast.

>These new Sub guns will be used by protection specialists who are the Army’s “bodyguards” for high ranking military officers.
so very limited issue

Only if they're using pistol rounds and not some new tiny pointy meme bullet like 6.5x25 to penetrate light armor.

Attached: cbj_ms_l2.jpg (600x386, 27K)

There are folding AR stocks. They're just retarded because it becomes a bolt action until you unfold it.

I'm all for novel actions but those things are fucking retarded.

you're not supposed to shoot with a folded stock in any situation really. You fold it to keep it in a place and when preparing for shooting you unfold it, which doesn't take long if it's not a stupid design
