Vivec. It still stuns me after all this time. It’s just amazingly huge and grand. And there’s so many little tucked away areas in different parts of the city to explore, so many rooms to find stuff in the Underworks and canal works of the different cantons and so many neat taverns and shops everywhere. It’s just so dense and so culturally interesting.

Even though its a corrupt city(like nearly all settlements across the series), I really like Markarth. Anything Dwemer related just hits the spot for me. Reminds me of when I would just turn dwemer ruins in Morrowind into dark sanctuary homes for myself.

Rorikstead. Something weird is going on there. You only notice if you listen to the npc's interact with each other at various times of the day though.
there's also the little girl who has dreams about paarthurnax and is unnaturally gifted at magic, secretly being tutored at night by the Breton 'healer', who is hinted at being immortal.
For some reason fertile women keep dying over the years in Rorikstead, despite it having such a renowned healer. The only woman it has is a dark elf, with an adopted Nord son, implying infertility.

Rorikstead is known for having the most fertile soil in Skyrim. Unnaturally fertile, considering the province its in. The healer has a book of Daedra in his house.

The Imperial City. Was always bummed you couldn't get one of those four big houses in the Talos Plaza district center. The Imperial Isle is supposed to be the size of Ireland or something and its potential is squandered being shoved into a game where it has to make room for a whole country. Chorrol is the most boring city in Oblivion. Literally nothing fucking happens in it.

Cheydinhal has lots of great stories and characters in it, even forgetting the dark brotherhood. It has that beautiful river running through it as well.
Skingrad has the most unique design out of all the cities. It also has many great quests in it and an awesome castle.
Anvil has the amazing cost and docks area. Also plenty of great quests in the city and surrounding country side.
