The game is dying soon, there is 0 incentive to pull gacha and most of the cosmetics are locked behind gacha or shitty rng with gift bags. The maximum 5 single draws from 50 donation dust is locked behind a retarded grind. It's boring to see the same characters, hear the exact same lines over and over again, might as well just play tenhou.
To be honest luck has a bigger impact in east only games. The more games you play the less of a factor someone's luck is so we can assume south is more like based and also favors different playstyles. In east only rounds you'll have to open most of the time and it makes sense so it favors aggressive playstyle.

Sure. As far as I've heard the main thing you'll need to watch out for with FF14 mahjong is that it shows you the dora itself, rather than the dora indicator, so mentally you'll need to remember that there's one less tile available for what should be the indicator. Other than that it's normal riichi mahjong, and the same strategies apply.

If it's like Tenhou, the new kandora is only flipped after you discard if you call an open kan. If you rinshan tsumo, there's no discard, and so there's no new kandora. It's flipped immediately with closed kans though.

Real world tournament rulesets just flip the kandora immediately. Chombos are only handed down when you make a mistake so bad that the round can't reasonably continue as normal - for smaller mistakes you just get a dead hand.
Just join a social group and play casually for a while to get used to playing with real tiles, and then you can think about joining tournaments or going to mahjong parlors in Japan.

Yup, it has many ease of use features that can allow someone who has no idea what they're doing (>you) to automatically know when you have a winning hand. That removes a lot of the mental load required to play and streamlines your decision making so you can just play.

I don't see anything about silver giving more points, since you get more points the better your score im pretty sure the grind would be easier in bronze, my last game in bronze south finished with 55k~ got me 60 points. Pretty sure the balance is that once you're expert you can't go in bronze rooms anymore so if you don't have copper you can't play since silver has an entry fee(but it's so low might as well not exist).

it depends. you need to get to the point where you know what the most efficient play is so you can use it as your baseline then build on that baseline by learning situations where pure efficiency is not what you want to do.

The only good thing about bronze rooms is that dumb kan cats don't know how to build hands. At silver they still call a lot, but they're also generally faster than riichi, so it's not that effective anymore.

Don't listen to the memers saying that calling is bad if you play east room. If you're not retarded you'd realise that with a potential 4 round, doing 4 cheap fast hands will net you wins easily. What's important is not winning with 80k points, it's being 1st or 2nd place.

Discarding a live haku after mid game is downright suicide. Dunno how user's game looked, but if you discard a live yakuhai tile after riichi, you shouldn't be surprised if it hits something.
