Okami

Remind me why is this game considered good?

It's a masterpiece because of its smart stage design, the equilibrated pacing, the depth in combat and the challenging difficulty.

looks great
sounds great
characters are great
gameplay though a little easy has truly unique gimmick

its a very memorable experience

I dunno. Something about art direction I think. Started playing it on switch a couple months ago, put maybe an hour into it and haven’t picked it back up since. Graphics are still pretty dated, way too much story at the beginning, and controls are initially unintuitive.

Pretty much this. Game is long as fuck but I remember most of it and I haven't played it for nearly ten years.

The only thing I found annoying was the repetition of bosses. Other than that, it's a great game.

How the fuck you played this on a contoller, consolefrens? The brush is fucking hard to control jfc.

has none made harder difficulty + no handhold mod for this in 15 years?

10/10 music, 10/10 level design, 10/10 gameplay with negligible flaws given by how old the game is, 10/10 graphics, 10/10 exploration, 10/10 villages.

When the only flaw is that the game is too easy and that it ltierally didn't squeeze your balls hard enough, you know it's a masterpiece. It's literally a Zelda game (arguably better).

If you don't see it, you are braindead or a zoomer.

>Unique mechanic to interact with the world and combat enemies with
>Colorful over world with a lot of regions to explore
>An OST that matches the atmosphere of its setting perfectly
>Stories and characters from mythology are woven into the game in interesting ways and are fun to follow
>Combat is pretty engaging and expands the more you unlock brush techniques
I thought it was a really amazing game honestly. The 2nd one can't come soon enough.

>10/10 level design
user, I thought the same when I was 12. Played it recently. Play it, trust me. You will find some curious things.

It was a different time, back before when it was hard to find a game that even came close to stuff like Zelda or SotC that wasn't a grindfest jrpg. Mostly before Dark Souls poularized whatever genre the thing is, you know the one where you hit things with a sword but slowly. Okami was just grand for a 6th gen action game, really huge for what it was at about 30-ish hours but not without it's failings.

>Repetitive copy paste enemies which become pointless once you buy all the upgrades
>Those sections like the sea palace and past Kamiki which are just copy pastejobs
>The sheer amount of WORDSWORDSWORDS and filler like the Canine Warriors fuck them

I see a lot of people complaining about the pacing in this game, but outside of the slow beginning and hunting down the Canine Warriors I've found it really well paced.

very memorable, I remember the hour long unskippable intro

The presentation is great but the game is far too long and easy. I feel like Kamiya was overcompensating, it's like a polar opposite of his other work.

Started it the other day and couldn"t really get into it. I get it little bug, you speak a lot and THE SOLUTION TO THE PUZZLE IS THE BEAUTIFUL PAINTING ON THE WALL I GET IT THE BALL GOES IN THE LITTLE POOL I GET IT I HAVE TO DRAW A SUN

It's way over 30 hours long

>try out Wind Waker
>piss easy and linear as fuck for the most part
>people tell me Okami is a better Zelda game
>Issun never shuts the fuck up and the game never stops telling me where to go in dialogue I can't even speed up

Shame it is ruined by the 30 fps.

The dungeons in this game were really underwhelming, and I wish there was more to the overall world. Most of it felt like downright empty space, plus a lot of brush skills don't get used very much in the grand scheme of things.

This, but not that much

Been replaying this game in PS4 and god i forgot how long it was, like if i played a different game as a child but still enjoyable. The only thing i hate are those digging minigames, insuferables.

Other than that it is a masterpiece indeed.

It's pretty, charming and I personally love that the MC is a cute ornamented mute regular wolf.
Other than that, it's by far the most flawed game I've ever enjoyed.
