wasnt this supposed to be a huge single server mmorpg with a player based economy, player made corporations, a shit ton of legal and illegal ways to get rich across hundreds of different planets? but all they've done in 5 years is a town and a planet that you can land on, with no real mmo aspect to it.
is this starting to feel a tiny bit fishy to anyone else?
Listen I don't know enough about this game and frankly I don't care to learn anything about it but what you described is something that would cost hundreds of millions and would never happen with the current technology we have.
Jace Perez
Yup, it's fucked. Didn't give my money to it but I still somewhat wish that it could have been great.
Robert Evans
>tfw no decent Freelancer sequel
My last hope is rebel galaxy outlaw
Andrew Fisher
The fat guy ate all the proceeds.
Jackson Mitchell
this must be bait but they gathered 300 million dollars from fans..
Gabriel Phillips
you can land on all the planets and moons besides crusader, theres a town and two cities. also for it to become an mmo they'll have to turn the current servers into shards for one server wich im pretty sure they already have figured out but haven't implemented yet.
>starting to feel fishy hahahahahahahahahahaha... that's a fucking good one, haven't had a laugh that good in a long time. You are late to the party
as it is of today, at their site, they claim they raised 224,607,597 US fucking greens, from neckbeards and shitlords spending hundred's and sometimes even thousands of dollars on virtual ships, on fucking pixels, they can admire in their virtual hangar, they can even buy a trolley to move there faster, and can buy a hangar decor so it would not look so fucking plain.
I say, Chris "Money" Roberts is a genius, and deserves every cent he got from that money he raised for his game for convincing so many people that his bullshit is real. And i would like to get my hands on his clients contact list... would sell them a bridge, or a clock in certain town. For real, it would be theirs, they could look on it all they want... on pictures... fucking genius.
Cameron Phillips
>a huge single server mmorpg They dropped this idea real quick. Their engine can only support like 50 people per instance, and they scaled down to only 100 solar systems. They even went back on their persistent economy bullshit which is what I was really invested in. But nope, steal a ship from someone and it will just despawn after a few hours because fuck you economy is hard.
Carson Howard
Fuck that shit, give me a real Starlancer sequel that ignores the beginning of Freelancer..
Ayden Hill
fuck off, derek, the game is already out and already good, and it's only going to get better
Kevin Robinson
Agreed, let me go on their website and give them some more milions.
Adrian Gutierrez
>they can admire in their virtual hangar, they can even buy a trolley to move there faster, and can buy a hangar decor so it would not look so fucking plain It's been like four years since that was the state of Star Citizen.
Matthew Brown
this, smartfags will cope hard
Dominic Richardson
>They dropped this idea real quick. Their engine can only support like 50 people per instance, and they scaled down to only 100 solar systems. They even went back on their persistent economy bullshit which is what I was really invested in. None of this is true. The huge single server thing is absolutely the plan and the tech for it is due this year, and the number of planned solar systems hasn't changed. The persistent economy is also still a huge focus of the game, you can go watch an hour long panel from Citizencon last October about their plans for it if you're really interested, and there are in fact already basic elements of the persistent economy in the playable game as we speak, commodity prices change based on players buying and selling them.
>But nope, steal a ship from someone and it will just despawn after a few hours because fuck you economy is hard. This is also not set in stone at all, the closest we've heard is that you won't be able to store a stolen ship normally.
Charles Williams
Scam Citizen is never gonna be an actual game.
Ryan Cruz
The original kickstarter was just for the singleplayer game.
Kevin Powell
Is the planet fully complete though? How big are they? If it's all hand crafted no wonder it's taking them so long
Joshua Cooper
>None of this is true. It was true like a year ago. You mean to tell me Chris has changed his mind AGAIN?
Zachary Price
No it was all a big scam to steal money from retards. Four years post release date and still no game. Money well spent.
Aside from the part about planets, he just described Eve Online, which came out in 2003.
Justin White
>from neckbeards and shitlords Isn't dan Gheesling from big brother a big donater?
Ian Peterson
It's over 9 years of development time and not even the fucking bay doors of a ship or a housing installation on a planet is able to fucking function without it bugging out and killing you 30% of the time.
I feel so fucking scammed. 9 years and all I got is a character modeling and decent controls and UI on my ship.
