I've only seen lag on the official servers, for some reason. There are a bunch of completely stable 3rd party servers around. Honestly can't say I've seen any bugs outside of very rare cases where you get stuck in geometry
Server issues are already not as bad as they were on day 1, Play in server browser games instead of matchmaking. Ghosting is a somewhat rare bug, but will probably be dealt with in one of their first patches, and load times are rather small with an SSD.

Do you even play the game? if you throw at attack to chamber against someone that tries to feint, you damage them, almost guaranteed. Are you that same FHG tranny that just doomposts about mord without having touched it?

Game is terrible, just like chivalry.
Weapon speeds barely vary at all.
You tank 5 arrows.
Fire bombs don't ignite on impact with and burn you to death.
You can literally follow up a block with a swing that the other person blocks and then a block of the other persons swing.

Horde is good if you have trouble dealing with real players. Get a good ranged weapon, go in a place where bots can't go, like on the top of a ladder, and profit. By wave 8 you should gain at least 400-500 gold.

I don't know about "easiest," but I think "most effective" weapon for learning would be the Longsword.

Why an Estoc over a rapier?

Farm tools (including wood axes and pickaxe) are unironically some of the best weapons in history. They're made for toiling with the land, which includes rocks.

Pitchforks are the ultimate weapon. All the power of a spear the the leverage and durability of a shovel.

Heavy weapons are always the breakaway early in games like this; people haven’t learned to block properly yet.
Personally, my favourite method is mosh pitting with an evening star. If you keep moving and retaliate when they hit their own teammates, you can do serious damage. It’s actually better than 1v1ing a good player, because they’re constantly being blocked by their own team.

Brigandine is the most based tier 2 chest. You can't convince me otherwise.

I really am trying to get better but the biggest problem is that people tend to travel in packs and it just makes it kinda clunky. Like you can parry 2-3 guys in front of you but if one is at your side, you're fucked.

There are weapons better than others, and horde mode has a few exploits, but that won’t kill the game. Hell, it’s practically a requirement to abuse exploit in horde mode

A great tactic if you’re outnumbered with one ally, is to charge straight through them and pivot. 9/10 it activates the terrier mentality of chasing an easy kill, lets your friend backstab them and makes them all go into panic mode.
It doesn’t work if your friend is a coward, or one of them isn’t an idiot and covers him, but it works surprisingly well.

because it's fun, it's the perfect ratio of satisfaction and defeat. you can win all your skirmishes, but still end up having arrowniggers hit you for 50 health or step on a beartrap while you're in the middle of a duel against someone you can 100% destroy. catapults and firebombs are actually my favorite battlefield distractions.

it takes 30 seconds to a minute to load, also I never join non-official servers because I join a 20 ping unofficial server and enter the game with 300 ping literally every time. I guess it's because official servers only do 48 player cap and 64 player cap strains cheap dedicated servers?

for some reason the devs coded riders to be immune to velocity, which is strange because velocity definitely plays a role for all damage in this game. if a horse is charging at you full speed, and you sprint at him full speed and thrust a sword, it won't 1 shot him with the velocity damage boost, it will just do regular damage for some reason

yeah, red seems to have map advantage they win nearly every game

Poke weapons. They’re better at this than swing weapons, because if you don’t know the game well you’ll just cause team damage and knock your ally’s aim off.
Help your team by drawing off people trying to gang up on them, or when someone’s having trouble, rush up to their flank/back and start poking. They’ll either take a swing at you and give your friend an opening, or go into panic block mode and get wrecked.
Or they’ll kill you both, but them’s the rules.

It's good, but very lacking in map variety and it should have a siege mode as frontline doesn't really cover it.

This game is honestly very frustrating to play, and I say that as someone who's going 40-5 in most games.

It's full of mechanics that are counter-intuitive. The biggest one is the camera perspective. You can't see shit going on around you, so you jack up the FOV. But jacking up the FOV distorts the view so that it's deceptive and difficult to judge the ranges of attacks, a crucially important thing in Mordhau. You also can't tell if you'll be able to dodge things by moving a certain way in first person. You really want to use third-person mode, but it's shit, and they intend to nerf it further. On any given map there are people on horses - if they know how to couch a lance or spear they are virtually unkillable and will 1hit you with zero effort expended and no real counterplay. The team element of the game is far worse than chivalry. In Mordhau, you're given a substantial (175%) speed boost when running up to an enemy who has his back turned (meant to deter fleeing fights). In practice this just makes it so that any time you are fighting 1 versus many, they can virtually teleport behind you to land free strikes that you can do nothing about. Almost all deaths in Mordhau involve you getting killed by a player you can't even see who silently sprinted up behind you, or getting instakilled from a couched lance or ballista, etc... so many dumb mechanics.

You know you can block horseback strikes, right? The timing is even easier than normal blocks. All you have to do is bait them into running into an obstacle then mince them.
Likewise with fleeing; you turn your back, ready a strike and let them run into it.

There needs to be much higher stamina cost for blocking with shield. And heavy weapons like maul should 1-2shot shields, while rapier should take a lot.

I am talking about couched lance. You can technically block it, but it does 35 damage anyway, and knocks you down and throws your weapon away. The horse player can easily circle around and kill you before you get up.

The simple answer is footwork. Closing the distance makes dodge a lot less effective, the distance on the dodge isn't even that far and won't get you out of the range of a lot of weapons. Also just don't get baited.

If you move your camera while swinging it reduces damage, move it too much and you do 0 damage. However, it is still a viable technique and something people do, it is just to a much lesser degree now.

Yes, it is, and yes a lot of people stab. However, stabbing can be countered by stabbing right as they stab, and you'll do an insanely fast counter attack. Also dodging (either manually, or with the "Dodge" perk) the stab and slamming them on the head works great.

I dunno, there is more dynamics to the offense in this, and less focus on maintaining defense. having to keep you opponents weapon tip centered in screen to block just meant having to fuck with fov and spending more time focused on def. I'm liking the more options for offense Mord brings and it also keeps kids from whining about feinting and draging 90% of the time.

What is the purpose of attack directions? Apart from chambering. There is a keybind for low/high in your current swing direction, and there's no directional blocking

No real weapon variety, you have 30 something different weapons, but basically you have just 6-8 weapons that differ from each other, rest are just reskins with slightly different stats (Does it matter that your slash does 3 more damage and slash takes 1.11 instead of 1.07?)
Very few maps
Server browser is basically bonkers

When it works its great. Chaining kill after kill whilst spamming the pitched faggot voiced battle cry. I don't want to go through the tutorial again but I can't remember how chambering works exactly. Do you need to throw out the same attack in the same direction? I can do it just fine on thrust but I'm not sure for the rest.

If their swing is coming from your left, you attack from your left.

There's 3 main attack directions, mid, high and low. There's a bind that simply swings high in your attack direction, and one that simply swings low, same for mid. Manual aiming seems like such a weird superfluous mechanic to put in if there's really not more to it than this.

Yes, basically if their swing is going down and yours is going up, you will chamber the attack successfully.

Mirror the attack just before it connects, the goal is to hit their weapon. They swing to their left, you swing to your right, the weapons are on the same side.

There is nothing weird or superfluous about it. Just a matter of preference.

You're supposed to start your attack right before getting hit, I imagine it's very inconsistent what with different weapons having different startup animations and then taking ping into account.
