How is the anime compared to the manga and how far did it get?

The anime is very spot-on, a great adaptation with some beautiful directing choices, voice acting and music. It got up to chapter 24 at the start of volume 5 and they said they want to make a second season to get to the end of the story, but there's nothing concrete yet. Presumably it would be announced after the manga ends in november.

Oh nice. I heard the author wanted to stretch it out for another 20-30 chapters, which I get, but it's honestly near a great place to end. Maybe he can reup for an afterstory of their future or something like Kase-san is doing. I wish shoujo manga in general would work to drag on less and do some happily-ever-after chapters.

Volume 8 is the last one and its first chapter came out a few days ago. It's not rushed or anything, just the natural conclusion of the story.

I feel Kase-san's sequel hasn't been as tightly-written as the first four volumes and that it kinda meanders at times, but I'm still glad it exists. Don't know if I'd want a sequel to Bloom Into You, maybe I'd be fine with an extra chapter or volume showing what everyone ended up doing in adulthood or alternatively a full spinoff where Sayaka gets isekai'd in a fantasy land where she gets a harem of brown tomboy catgirls.

Kase-san is probably my favorite yuri manga but I have to agree with you. Though it's mostly due to it not actually being published, if I remember correctly it's a side project web comic for the fans at this point which I'm beyond grateful for. YagaKimi does a good job of not stretching the story too long, I was more referring to other shoujo manga I follow where it's sort of obvious the author is stalling for paychecks.

After the failure of Dungeon defenders 2(which they even admitted was a failure) they're going to make a new game now that will be a lot more like dungeon defenders 1.

I am myself quite hyped for this because I loved DD1 and spent so much time on it, but was deeply disappointed with DD2.

The original Kase-san run had switched to web publication partway through already due to its magazine ending sales so Yamada and Kase-san isn't any different in that regard.

Yeah, I know of a few. I tend to avoid or drop manga with obvious stalling tactics although I was unable to drop Citrus purely because I liked the art and Yuzu too much.

Is this new one an actual new game? I know they had that weird alternate version of the first game but I never really knew what was up with that either.

It was.
For me the biggest problem was that it was too focused on the heroes and not on the towers.
It also had awful microtransaction bullshit, balance was non existent so you were basically forced to use the same 2-3 towers and 1 hero every single map, the map design were also awful and towers felt extremely weak.

The devs blamed most of this on the publishers (which they now have bought themselves free from) but I still think they could have done A LOT better with the game. People on the forums had tons and tons of good suggestions and told them why the found the game unfun and boring to play, but nothing was done about it.
