It's quantity vs quality. CTR will have a lot more stages and characters. TSR will be higher quality content, but substantially less of it.

No idea, but I'm more interested in TSR right now. Already completed CTR ages ago and the new designs look ugly to me.

Frankly they're both looking to be good games but TSR looks like the much, much less interesting of the two. God only knows why they'd go with just Sonic over Sega All Stars.
