I liked Velvet. Great voice performance, fun character. She was strangely likable, despite how obvious it is that she's manipulating you from the moment she meets you to do her dirty work for her.

There's no real harm playing Malk for your first run, the reason people tell you not to do it is because many of your dialogue options will foreshadow events that haven't happened yet, either spoiling them for you or just straight up confusing you. My sis played Malk first though and she loved it.

Probably. I think there'd be a lot of backlash if they didn't, especially after the Malk stuff in the deluxe editions.

Malk is fine your first time if you really want to play it. Level 3 Dementation is pretty strong, you can use Hysteria to disable an enemy and level 3 Dementation instantly kills any human. Auspex also makes guns even stronger.

The only thing you really have to worry about with Malk is your defense, since they're like glass cannons. Just don't neglect Wits/Stamina/Dodge.

Also don't use the plus patch your first time, it's more of a mod that greatly varies in quality so you should at least play vanilla first since not everyone likes the plus version.

It kinda works if you use the Blood Drain to refresh while using it. Still skilled a bit in melee tough, used the sword from the library bcause I found it fitting.

Thaumaturgy can carry you through most of the game. Supplement that with a late-game automatic (or 3 of them) and you can just blitz down bosses instead of wasting blood on them.
Some mods may change the viability of it so just be aware if you use any.

I did it once because i love the idea of blood magic with vampires. Maximised Thaumaturgy as soon as possible while dumping points in dodge and stamina to buff myself, as well as in Blood Heal for better recovery. I had this idea of my character of a really buffy mage who could lifesteal deal damage from afar, and then used Blood Shield and Blood Purge for managing CQC situations.

But you have to be skilled in the game.

as long as you don't install the plus patch blood strike alone is stupidly OP and better than any combat skill, the damage scales against whatever you're fighting and is basically a late game gun with infinite ammo against the last bosses. the only parts i remember having trouble with was the society of leopold guy (blood strike does shit damage against him) and killing bat phase sheriff (you have to machine gun him down in the one stun you'll get from the spotlight)

I think their best bet is cosmetics. I mean, the amount of fashion they can cram into these games, where the PnP community already likes to LARP it up with fashion shit - they're going to be rolling in money by the wheelbarrow for character clothes alone. And then there's havens and ways you can customize them too.

I don't think they'll do anything else as DLC because it would get them a lot of grief if they locked quests/missions behind minor DLC. That's what they'll use those story packs and expansion they got outlined in the preorder.

Humanity only affects some dialogue, frenzy chance, and maybe some mod quest requirements. Don't worry about losing it, and gaining it back is easy if you go out of your way to be nice.
If you see a social skill available in dialogue, it will almost always work.

Even games like Dark Souls which are more action focused elt you overlevel entire zone and absically plow through anything as long as you have functional eye-hand coordination. The thing is though that many clans, especially the Camarilla 7, share a lot of disciplines. So you just can't be that unique in the way you fight and move, especially with only 2 clan disciplines. And I know they have said that they want each clan to be played differently, but this is not possible for every clan and in the same degree. And besides, each clan has a standard of 3 disciplines and not 2 for a reason.

Every vampire can every discipline, save for some. Each clan has three disciplines that they're naturally inclined to, but they can learn other disciplines by spending extra exp and getting outside training.
Level 1 power in V5 is heightened senses, which is;

It will probably give you Deus Ex like ability to see through walls with upgrades.
