Is this a bug? I almost instantly killed this boss with the APSDF arrows or whatever they are called. I tried replicating it and cant
Ninja Gaiden Thread
You shot it in its boner
>first person aiming in a fast paced action game
You don't need to use it but I was having issues wirh the auto aim due to distance and so many hittable enemies
The bow isn't something meant for use outside of certain bosses and puzzles
ninja gaiden series has the worst bosses in history
it really is a letdown
the only good, non gimmicky bosses were murai, doku 1, and the ryu clones that show up on master ninja
>NG2 was a big step down in quality with it's retarded delimb + obliteration technique combat system with overly long animations for everything and bosses were total shit aside from maybe Genshin who you fight FOUR fucking times
>NG3 was easily a 1/10 "Fuck you, fans!" game with no redeeming qualities
>Yaiba was also trash
It hurts knowing that Ninja Gaiden Black was a fluke.
striking gold is quite rare
I'm making an action game.
How does having no dodge or anything sound and your only form of defense being a royal guard style block that you have to time right?
>sets off a fucking nuclear explosion when killed
Oh you were just supposed to block it you STUPID FUCKING GAIJIN! YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO KEEP KILLING THE BOSS OVER AND OVER TRYING TO OUTRUN THE BLAST, JUST BLOCK THE ATOM BOMB WITH YOUR TINY LITTLE BIRRION TIMES FOLDED TOOTHPICK
This pissed me off so much. I killed the fucker like 4 times and ran away from the explosion every time, clearing the blast radius. Eventually I get pissed off and look it up online and all I have to do is block once. Fucking hell. Doesn't help that the boss is shit unless you're full up on incendiary shurikens.
The fact that it wasn't a hard boss but still blew you up when it died was the worst. I can't remember but I hope it was immune to arrows.
A little back tracking and wheel ninpo and you can get to a shop. It's not hard unless you never figured out rolling fast. wheel fire ninpo kills fish. I'm here right now
I just started playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma and it's pretty fun, but I'm so goddamn bad. How does Sigma compare to the other games?
it's the weaker (but still acceptable), easier version of Ninja Gaiden Black. when you go to play Ninja Gaiden 2, do try to play it on an xbox, because Sigma 2 is actually a massive fuck up.
Pic related was the best.
>bad bosses, etc.
What are some good boss in other action games, then?
This faggot
Yeah Sigma 1 is arguably a side grade that mostly retains what makes the original good but Sigma 2 is just flat out a different game, and a much shittier one for the most part. At the very least don't make it your first playthrough of NG2, it's a disgrace but worth playing for the 10-15 bucks it goes for to fulfill your curiosity/learn to appreciate Itagaki.
To be clear, I do think Black is better than Sigma and would recommend that to anyone with a choice. It's such a fucking shame the best versions of NG1 and 2 are only available on Xbox and will stay that way (if they even port the games again it'll just be fuckin Sigma), I'll never get any of my friends to play them.
good boss fight
game should have ended there
At least both are back compat on xbone now. One X enhancements are fucking dope, cleans up lots of the frame rate shit in NG2.
I like the humanoid fiend bosses.
What makes Sigma 2 worse than regular 2?
i doubt much people want to buy an xbone just for old ninja gaiden games though. apparently the next xbox is supposed to play whatever BC games the xbone can though, so if it actually turns out to be better than the PS5 or even a decent competitor, at least the games will actually be on a decent platform.
Xbox version isn't butchered.
Yeah I get that but *what* about it was butchered
no more hordes of enemies, no more dismemberment, i think bodies just despawn right away while in 360 NG2 you would see the many corpses after your battles, the usual playable waifus who break pacing.
wow i had been searching this comic for ages thnx user
Fair enough, thanks
>no more dismemberment
lol wtf? I remember them pushing this a ton in the marketing of NG2 on first release
does the xbone version of NG2 have any performance improvements?
why is everyone ignoring op question
i think the cell processor on ps3 probably shit itself with all those limbs flying around so they took it out. that plus the lesser enemy hordes makes the infamous staircase section really lame too while it's one of the greatest moments on the 360 version.
>half the enemies on-screen, but twice the stamina
>no gore
>removed or remixed encounters/bossfights that were considered not fun
Don't listen to . Sigma 2 still has dismemberment, but you can't dismember enemies as easily as in NG2.
Those are only true on maybe MN difficulty. Enemies are pitifully easy to defeat in Warrior and Mentor difficulties in Sigma 2. It's true they catered to shitters who couldn't deal with the awesome worm boss though lol.
It seemed like enemies in Mentor could still survive against one UT.
Coming from someone who bought Sigma 2 in good faith, excited to play it right after playing the 360 version.
Encounters are COMPLETELY different, I'm not saying like 5 or 6 altered ones over the course of the game but the majority are literally just not the same set of enemies at all, often parts of levels that used to be filled with enemies are flat out empty. Game runs on a different engine, on a different console, and the trade off of the generally cleaner visuals (higher resolution and some nicely touched up assets) is a lot more slowdown than NG2 on 360 even with far, far fewer enemies on screen so that's probably why it got butchered. They also dumbed down the already simple exploration for no reason. Bosses that gain adds on higher difficulties no longer have them iirc.
The lack of gore legitimately hurts the game's presentation and sense of satisfaction big time. enemies do still get dismembered but instead of copious amounts of blood and lingering limbs on the environment it's saturday morning cartoon purple smoke.
They got rid of projectile ultimate techniques (and I think one or two shuriken varients, it's been a minute since I played it) for absolutely no reason at all. On the other hand, they made dodging while aiming your bow a thing.
In addition to the aforementioned terrible slow down I'm pretty fucking certain the game has additional input delay, possibly to make the single player and added online co-op missions feel the same. It feels awful to play coming from the 360 version.
On the other hand, it does replace a few fairly terrible parts of the game (like the double armadillo fight) with less terrible things.
Good choice.
DMC already kind of does that, excluding Trickster and the shit lock-on dodges. Unless you're thinking of removing all i-frames, including from jumping.
>DMC already kind of does that, excluding Trickster and the shit lock-on dodges.
So you mean DMC doesn't actually remotely do that.
If you're playing as Nero, you only have dodges that only work from left to right and are worse than just jumping away.
Gerbera.
Yeah, it's great that they're preserved in greater form on Xbone but the thing is a tough sell. The improved NG2 is literally the only thing I want one for personally.
desu it's been a few years since I played Black and the final bosses are really forgettable (better than the trash at the end of 2 though) so I couldn't help OP if I tried.
I assume the original poster meant no iframe dodge spam at all, jumps function as well as rolls in DMC because they both have tons of i-frames in addition to moving you where you want to go.
Anti-tank arrows do a lot of damage, maybe not as much as explosive ones, but still. And you manage to hit multiple skulls at once. And you're on ninja dog.
