>dude it's an oil rig, they're gonna pollute everyone! >dude it's metal gear! >dude it's an EMP! >dude it's actually a nuke! >dude wait, it's a weapon to control the internet! >dude fuck it, it's a nuke anyway! >dude actually you can have it, i just wanted the names of the people who created it! >dude this was all a ruse! LMAOOO you fell for our simulation >dude it was all so we can engineer a Solid Snake clone! >dude haha we tricked you so good noob! go patriots!!! *arm awakens* wait fuck the patriots!!! *runs away on a RAY* >dude just kidding, it's actually used to control the population and it worked on you! our first test subject! btw we're aliens >dude now kill the guy who's been trying to stop us so we can go on with our business ROFLLL
why did they cram all this shit into the last cinematic? shit's unforgiveable, even the bosses and setting were garbage besides the tanker, which again was also le epic ruse "dude we planned it all XD" I loved MGS1, and this just shat the bed. the story is good, i get it, but cramming all that shit in 1 cinematic towards the end? such a cop out. i don't even feel like finishing the series anymore.
The meme theme wouldnt have as much weight if you knew it was gonna be a big twist the whole game. At least it got its point accross... compare it to 4 where big boss shows up for half an hour and retcons the whole 12 hour game you just played and doesnt make anything better.
And what JD tells you still holds up more than ever today. Anyone who has been on the internet before 2016 and gas seen the internet today knows that humans are unfit to create context.

This game is literally perfect imagine being this faggy

the whole Raiden as a simulation part is what fucks me up, why risk the shadows moses incident, the tanker incident and then all of shell/arsenal and those RAY's for a test run. how much fucking money was involved in all of that? I knew it was some sort of simulation as soon as Raiden said it all felt like a dream. But i thought Raiden was a soldier engineered by the Patriots to protect shell. twisting everything in the end and saying everything was according to plan, including solidus' attack, etc is jumping the gun.
Andrew James
The entire fucking game is nothing but twists >You get to play as Snake! >just kidding play as this wuss Raiden instead >Actually Raiden was a hardened soldier this whole time!
Jaxon James
Was anything really risked though? They didn't have it in mind before Shadow Moses I don't think.
Julian Ward
I doubt the AI cares about money. They set it up as they had to set it up to get the data they needed.
Carson Mitchell
>Was anything really risked though? they failed to kill snake. all those RAY's are destroyed, arsenal 9/11'd manhattan. GW bugged.
Landon Long
Also why did Ocelot keep up that Patriot charade with solidus at the end if he was planning on going after the patriots as well?
I love the story of MGS2 and even got an original poster of it signed by Kojima at an event in New York. Fite me BROTHER!
Jordan Mitchell
Raiden was a hardened soldier when he speaks with the Colonel, all up until he gets his codename changed.

I was stuck with this game for years.
YEARS, Anons.
They released MGS1 and 2 on the PC, and I spent years waiting for them to get around to MGS3. By the time MGS4 came around, it was obviously never fucking happening. Other people had Playstations and could see how the story progressed, and I was stuck with a game that's 90% cutscenes and 10% actual gameplay that's really fun for the hour or so it lasts.
Why? Why is there so much fucking talking? Why do people keep beating you over the head with all this? Why doesn't this video game have at least as much time playing the actual game as MGS1?
Then MGSV came out. Other people got upset, but finally, Konami smiled on me and gave me a Metal Gear game that's 90% gameplay and 10% story you listen to on tapes on your way to the fun fucking part of the video game.
I swear, I'm the only guy truly happy with how MGS V turned out. And if I didn't spend hours trying to kill Solidus by waving my mouse around like the computer was frozen, I never would've appreciated it.

>destroy a shit ton of your BEST military equipment so you can control society >even though it was established mid game that the public have always been lied to and things such as presidential election are rigged
i'm sorry but straying away from the nuclear weapons and super soldier plot for this "control the web, brainwash normies!" plot is crap.
Michael King
You underestimate just how much military losses the GW will afford to lose just to prove a point

Your Reddit spacing seems to align with your opinion

>this "control the web, brainwash normies!" plot is crap.
that's not what i mean, that shit is very real. but going from MGS1, when people are fighting over super soldier genes, to finding out your one of the best soldiers to ever live, and the struggle over nuclear data, etc was amazing, it was fun, made sneaking around the place feel amazing, as if you REALLY are that good of a legend. MGS2 made it seem like snake and the rest of the big boss brothers are chumps. which they are, pawns in a game. But then why not end the series here? what could MGS4 offer if AI has already taking over. Why even put so much weight on Big Boss' remains in MGS1 anyway?
