Prey is probably the most underrated game of this generation
Prey is probably the most underrated game of this generation
Probably one of them. It's not extraordinary, but it's definitely one of the most underappreciated games. The looking glass technology was incredible. It needed a little more enemy variety.
It's pretty good for a walking simulator
I always think I should finally play it but I'm never in the mood
It most certainly is. And its a damn shame.
Both Prey and Alien Isolation really scratch my fully explorable space station itch. Both are fucking great.
Kino intro bros
THE PROTAGONISST GAME NAME WAS YU WHICH MEANS YOU I TRULY BELIEVEED I WAS MORGAN YU (ME)
but its not underated you idiot.
based
why the fuck don't people bother to understand/validate the words they use in their hyperbolic drivel
Really? Have you seen anywhere else give it as much praise as us?
This gets me every time
nobody gives anything as much praise as you because you don't have any rating between 'worst shit in history' and 'earth shattering orgasm simulator of all time'
>everyone on Yea Forums believes the same thing
they don't believe the same thing, but they communicate almost uniformly with ridiculous hyperbole
I really liked it. It felt like Bioshock 4 to me. My only complaint is that I only really care about playing it one way. I would have to force myself to play in what I feel are least optimal ways for a different experience. I didn't go full alien because i didn't want to fight turrets and the aliens. plus I didn't want to feel OP and just wreck everything. Stealth human felt the best way to go. Though I did try out mimicry on my 2nd playthrough and that was pretty fun.
Didn't have a scene with children being gruesomely killed on-screen in front of the player
0/10
>Children
>On an orbital office building
they were in a space station in prey 1 stupid nigger
It's a terrible game user
You're mistaking this for gone home
>I really liked it. It felt like Bioshock 4 to me.
Nigga, this is System Shock 3. Everything about the gameplay in this game looks and plays like it came from a bunch of guys who said "Dude, System Shock 2 was great, but what if we put our own spin on fucking everything." The only thing they didn't improve from System Shock 2 is the hacking minigame, and of all the games that copied SS2, this is clearly the best.
Is this reference too old? Is this why people keep referring to Bioshock? Am I old, Yea Forums?
Because it feels more casual than the little bit of SS2 I played. The mechanics don't feel nearly as detailed. And Bioshock is inspired by SS anyways, so even Bioshock feels like a dumbed down version of SS. I'm 30.
>you'll never live on board the Se/v/astapol or USG Yea Forumsshimura
It sounds like hell, but it'll be a pretty sweet ride till it self destructs.
>Not adding the new mooncrash DLC items to the base game
It was an alien ship and those kids were abductees. There's no narrative reason to have kids in Arkane's Prey.
Nah. Shit combat ruins an otherwise interesting game. Rental fodder
FUCK this hurts so much
>women cant get pregnant in space
let me see your science
They likely wouldn't stay on the station if they got pregnant. They're there to work and do research. They weren't stuck up there.
get fucked retard
>not sending a pregnant worker back to Earth
Thanks for conceding.
>A PREGNAN TYY WORKER SURIVVING EARTHAL REENTRY
yikes big yikes
Have you played Prey lately? They patched in selectable mechanics that add weapon degradation, injuries, and suit integrity meaning something in space. Makes it feel a lot less casual.
Besides which, it's totally SS2. Right down to the distribution of skill points, all the audio logs being used correctly for once, the skill trees almost literally being Navy (Technician / Scientist), Marine (Security), and OSI (Psi Powers). They replaced the Research skill and all that running back to chemical storerooms with the Psychoscope, they replaced hackable vending machines with 3D space printers, and so on.
Trust me, go back and play maybe ten hours of System Shock 2. Going from that to Prey 2016 is like walking a living room where all of the furniture is technically different, but it's all in the same position, right down to the pictures on the walls.
The original concept was better.
>Only possible way to get back home is when you're ready to pop not a few months beforehand.
K.
What the fuck is this bioshock in space? The same radio bullshit, same cartoon weapons the same fucking research camera, same interiors. I thought this was some hidden gem but it's just more bioshock normie wankbait you fucking assholes. Fuck you all I hope you die so you stop shitting up videogames.
>What the fuck is this bioshock in space?
You mean System Shock? Yes.
>best game of this generation
>literally a ripoff of a game made two decades ago
>replaced bounty hunting jetpack simulator
I'm so fucking mad
It's worse than Bioshock because the story gets in the way of playing. Bioshock was able to weave the story perfectly into the gameplay. The sidequests were also stupid, required a shit ton of back travel for stupid fetching, and gave shit all for reward
Not enough enemy and weapon variety.
No end game boss fight, end game has no tension just another generic quest to flip some switches.
Your actions ultimately has no meaning because because its VR
Forced to listen to dyke scientists in several audio logs to collect voice sample to open a door
>replaced bounty hunting jetpack simulator
It didn't replace anything, you dolt. Arkane's Prey would have still released whether Prey 2 came out or not, Bethesda just stuck the Prey name on Arkane's project when Prey 2 was shelved.
I just wished they went a little bit more 0451 on Isolation. If those sequel rumors (not the phone shit) are true, I hope they focus less on the director AI and more on those elements
This, but after I got so bored. Maybe it’s because I loved Bioshock and my nostalgia for that doesn’t allow me to enjoy similar games? I rented it for a weekend and that was good enough for me.
Idk man I loved Bioshock and this game too. Everybody is different though fren that's okay if the game isn't for you.
>nostalgia for Bioshock
I'm too old for this shit.
Sigh.
>Everybody is different though fren that's okay if the game isn't for you.
No it isn't. He deserves to die.
I love you fren
Nope, it did got some praise.
The most underrated game of this gen is ReCore. Not perfect, but creative and incredibly fun, the best an AA game can be.
I dropped it because there was unironically to much fucking empty sand space
Fuck man, I really want to replay this game, I hear they added a survival mode or some other difficulty, how is it?
Its a great game for sure. Loved turning myself into a psychic GOD
It's the game they told you Bioshock was.
Ended up as my GOTY for 2017, even with all the other great games
My first playthrough was a few months after I replayed System Shock 2. I played on Hard with all the Survival options on. If you played SS2 you won't have any issues, weapon degradation is not nearly as big a problem as in SS2, each weapon repair consumable heals 25% of the weapon condition at level 0 maintenance and the weapons lasts a lot longer without breaking.
You can also receive some debuffs life concussion (makes your camera shaky I think), bleeding (you lose health when sprinting or jumping), etc.
Also your suit can suffer some integrity damage, if it's at less than 75% integrity you slowly lose O2 when outside the station, 50% you lose it faster, etc.
Overall the game is pretty great, I wish it had more enemy variety a and was a bit better balanced, by the end game I was killing Nightmares like they were nothing. Psi powers, in particular Psychoshock, are pretty OP.
Hard as fuck. I'm too casual to find it enjoyable. You can selectively choose what conditions you want and don't want from survival mode. (So status effects you can keep on and turn off weapon degradation and vice versa)
honestly, i was waiting for the plot to give me a whammy but it was predictable as hell with lots of obvious foreshadowing, especially once you get that bioshock vibe you can expect some kind of twist but it never really pays off, everything up until the end is pretty cool
the last bit has a lot of backtracking though and that was boring as hell
strangely it seemed to have almost the exact same plot to the Surge and they both came out at about the same time
Fug whoever thought of this >:[
>Prey is probably the most underrated game of this generation
It's also the most unoriginal and derivative shit of this generation.
System Shock, System Shock 2, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite.
There's only so much of that shit you can play before it gets real fucking stale, and Prey was stale as fuck.
the survival options are not even noticeable after the first hour of gameplay, you will be so well stocked that even with a barest amount of resource management you should never have a problem
you even get some upgrades that reduce the effects of the survival options so it's really just for flavour, not gameplay
It was the exact same thing last gen.
The hype is engineered.
>Names 5 game spread out among literal decades
>stale genre
Fuck off, retard
Thanks user, now that you mention SS2, I'd never played it before. Maybe I should try it.
My first playthrough was on the highest difficulty when it came out and it was kinda easy, maybe I'll try it after all
Thanks both of you guys!
First time i did it i almost fell out of my chair, those aliens were really scary
>now that you mention SS2, I'd never played it before. Maybe I should try it.
Easily one of my favorite games. I don't recommend playing OSA (Psi, basically a Sci-fi wizard) for the first time, but I think it's THE most fun class because the psi powers allow you to manipulate literally every single stat or game mechanic. Imo it's the best way to make magic fun in a game, obviously you need to be familiar with game mechanics in the first place to not fuck your build up, but it's not nearly as hard as some people make it out to be. I hope you enjoy it.
So, our next immersive sim is... Bloodlines 2?
Imagine being able to use the psionic blade. The game uses CryEngine so modding it would be really easy for someone how knows it but a shame it's not that popular.
Why do they always make critically acclaimed games that are financially disappointing?
Because braindead casuals can't into immersive sims
not a popular genre
Dishonored 1 was relatively successful
>Arx Fatalis (RPG)
>Dark Messiah (Action)
>Dishonored (Stealth)
>Prey (Immersive sim)
>Dishonored 2 (Stealth)
Granted all of their games have some immersive sim elements, but they have a pretty diverse repertoire of games.
I wish someone wold give them a chance to make a proper system shock game
Spector is doing garbage again
youtube.com
Bioshock games don't even count, anyone who's played them know they're a different beast.
General rule is that if it wasn't made by LGS/Arkane or isn't Deus Ex then it isn't an immersive sim, or it's just garbage like Underworld Ascendant.
Does anyone else not really like dishonored that much? It's fun enough, but fuck me is it ever easy when you upgrade blink. When you get the second timestop upgrade the game is basically over. The power fantasy aspect is kinda nice, but I prefer games that only become a power fantasy when you actually have the skill.
Go and be underage somewhere else.
..? dude have you even played SS2 and Bioshock? They are incredibly similar games
As a Thiefag I wish they dropped the whole power fantasy bullshit and just focus on making a good stealth game with superb sound design and atmosphere.
Working my way from a scared scientist with a glue gun creating my own escapes and afraid of every prop into a super fast doomguy with a fully upgraded shotgun destroying absolutely everything was amazing.
Prey is definitely underrated and the only worthy bioshock successor I've played
It's one of those games where you have to put limits yourself aka no powers runs for muh cheevos, i know it sounds pretty dumb but i did a no powers, no alerts and no kills/knockouts and the maps allowed me to do so which is fucking brilliant
Imagine being this contrarian and retarded that you actually make things worse for yourself because of it and miss out on actually good games.
>want to play Dishonored 2
>can't fucking stand the hud sway when you read in-game texts
any way i can mod this out?
Alex is ____FAT!
that bit was pretty clever
i definitely would throw a fat man down to save a train
Did you take his hand at the end bros?
And get all that McDonalds grease on me? Fuck no.
Nah, fuck that lying sack of fat. I answered the call from my Typhon nature.
Threadly reminder that the Yu Brothers did absolutely NOTHING wrong.
What did people think of the DLCs
Gets really fucking repetitive after a while but it does keep you thinking constantly on what you need to do next for each person.
Ending is bullshit though. I wasn't dont playing it. I still had to do the Test Subject's thing
They really fucking need to make proper sequel, hopefully set after the invasion. Maybe on a derelict ship or something.
I know it had "disappointing sales" but shit still sold a couple mil. They can afford it with Doom Eternal money.
The fact that they're still making Wolfenstein even after the absolutely miserable sales of 2 means that there might still be hope.
alex is fat as a house
You have never touched this game in your life.
Wrong, he's as big as an Xbox One (which is why the game ran like shit whenever it was first released on consoles)
based retard
This also got Mooncrash and that VR thing, so yeah, probably.
I don't want those filthy Bethesda fuckbags to disassemble Arkane, they're one of like 2 good western studios left.
alex's model pushed consoles to their limits whenever he was on screen
Can you give me a quick rundown on them?
It ran like shit because they used Cryengine for some unholy reason. But then they used id tech 5.5 on Dishonored 2 and that also ran like ass warts.
What's worse is that, if they were to make a new game soon-ish and allowed them to use Unreal, they'd have to sell it on the Epin store.
In thinking about trying this game out. B how long is it?
derelict ship..? that is the exact setting of the first game, i mean i guess it was more a space station...
I'd much rather have it set on earth so we can see why that big ass typhon hasnt eaten the whole planet yet or what the fuck the plan is with the Morgan mimic
given they get progressvely more sjw with each iteration, next prey installment could very well be about fighting toxic masculinity
I was surprised to learn that Alex was voiced by this dude. He's got a knack for picking sci fi kino roles.
>shitty System Shock 2 clone
lolno
just pirate it and see if you like it man
So they found some really adaptable Ayy lmaos and tried to use them to better humanity by means of eugenics and violations of the Hippocratic oath and that sort of thing, alerted the alien species of our presence and caused a mass invasion of earth. So, essentially Half Life.
Male Morgan is hot
fuck that the only jumps scare to ever fuck me up
I thought of that at first, too, but if you're set on Earth we can't have zero G and that was one of the coolest parts of the game. Also it would keep the System Shock theme going, I guess.
Wow good choice he's great
We don't allow gays in here, sir.
>never did the powers run yet
welp guess I know what I'm doing now
This thread is pretty comfy, like dead space threads
First rule of Street Countdown is that you really must try and tell as many people as possible about it. It's a rather fun game and the more people you tell about it the better.
.
>Rothschilds bow to Yu's
>In contact with Typhon
>Possess psychoshock abilities
>Controls Russia with an iron but fair fist

>Own 99% of DNA editing research facilities on Earth

>Nation states entrust their gold reserves with the twins. There's no gold in Ft. Knox, only Ft. Yu
>The brothers are about 7 decades old, from the space-time reference point of the base human currently accepted by our society
In reality, they are timeless beings existing in all points of time and space from the big bang to the end of the universe. We don't know their ultimate plans yet. We hope they're benevolent beings.
Please don't compare Prey to that sack of blandness.
you guys may think it's fucking gay, but I really liked that the "apartment" has a rice cooker in it
They're not twins, faggot.
enemy design and combat killed it for me, never could finish it
characters and dialogue was also garbage
I don't know what to say to you
>even replaced the word "twins" in the pasta with "brothers"
That you didn't pay attention or noticed that Alex is older than Morgan?
Based and Yupilled
it's a pasta you fucking fruit with the lowest effort replacements
>Couldn't get him back for Mooncrash voice lines because he was busy with Infinity War
>Is now going to be known for being in one of the highest grossing films of all time
>Will most likely not stoop back down to vidya VA again
fuck you, you magnificent fat bastard.
I wasn't gay when I got stuck here, trust me
and I love his voice too fuck
>Prey is probably the most underrated game of this generation
I'd make it a tossup between Prey, Darkwood, or Titanfall 2.
Nah.
Suck my dick and kill yourself, bethesda shill.
He's gonna be in a lot of upcoming shit soon but, fuck if he wasn't perfect for this game. At least he has his preference for sci-fi.
Titanfall 2 was fairly popular though, wish Prey was so i'd get a fucking EARF sequel
What's next for Arkane? Is there hope for another good game?
My main fear is that Zenimax will cannibalize them into some other company working on mainstream shit since Colontiano left the studio.
We'll have to wait for e3 or quakecon to find out i guess
You pirates are fickle faggots. You play a game for five minutes and then delete it instantly if you don't like it immediately
why aren't there more games like this?
Is Arkane even working on another prey or dishonored? God all I want is more games like this / deus ex / dishonored / system shock... and there's just hardly anything in this genre these days.
Games that have:
a) Open level design, are technically "open world" but instead of large empty worlds, the levels are brimming with detail, secrets, things to learn, things to explore, alternate routes to the objective, hidden caches, computer logs from NPCs, audio logs, world building, etc.
b) allow a wide variety of ways to play the game; a good stealth system for sneaking, a player can choose to be lethal, or choose to be a pacifist, good variety of enemy types, multiple weapons for multiple playstyles, abilities that can be unlocked in a tree to add RPG elements to the character.
c) mostly first person but third person elements. Incredibly atmospheric environments / setting.
There's just so few games like this, only recent examples I can think of are the Deus Ex reboots, Dishonored, Prey... and Bioshock (excluding infinite) even though Bioshock is very casualized in terms of the gameplay.
where did I say this? why are you trying so hard?
I didn't want to see it myself. Fuck.
I loved Alien Isolation too, but it's a very different style of game (survival horror vs. immersive sim).
That said, AI does have many immersive sim elements, such as a stealth system, world building in computers / emails / audio logs, is first person, open hub world style map with transport between areas.
Play Mooncrash if you haven't guys. It's actually really fun, don't let the "roguelike" bullshit put you off, it does have some minor roguelike elements, but it's a lot more like the main game than that.
what the fuck
>It's now been 2 years since Prey was released
>literally not a peep on a sequel or any other future arkane games like dishonored 3
i hate the current state of the video game industry so much. I cannot stand the type of games that sell, and I cannot stand how games make money now. It's all a fucking sham, I just want to go back to a time where it felt like you were being sold a complete product on release with no bullshit.
Welp.
Goodbye creativity.
>why aren't there more games like this?
Too hard, too expensive, doesn't make a good return on investment. The best you'll see are games that are immersive sim inspired like Consortium, Heat Signature and Slayer Shock.
Fuck Zenimax...
Nope, You'll be content with people quoting that EA "single player games are dead" when the only shit they buy is the latest highly marketed open world game or the next cinematic sony exclusive.
so do you reckon they'l make a sequel?
Absolutely not.
>first weapon is a wrench
I'm just obtuse because I should have realized how inspired it is by System Shock before buying it so I didn't even bother to waste my time
>immersive sim
What the fuck does this even mean, Its not a genre, literally any game in any genre can be labeled an "immersive sim" if it immerses you and simulates something, anything.
Prey is an FPS with a focus on exploration, similar to System/Bioshock
decent level design killed by bad combat (mainly due to poorly-designed enemies) and a shit story.
why did some people have such a hard time with this game?
I remember people struggled with inventory management and resources to the point they complained it was harder than dark souls
I pirated played it for an hour than uninstalled.
>shit story
how so?
>bad combat
it was fine, not the greatest but not "bad", certainly now worse than the bioshock games. it weakest point was probably the lack of enemy variety and weight behind the powers and guns (excluding za wardo and the shotgun)
how the fuck didnt you manage to get into the gameplay within an hour?
did you get stuck in the simulation or something?
He's trolling, you fucking retard.
Don't feed the goddamned troll.
I fucking love the art style of this game
The apex typhon showing up was a massive high point of the game. Freaky as shit.
I will find you and I will kill you if you keep repeating campster's stupid buzzwords
go back out the door, there is a real one waiting for you, only spawns if you calibrate the looking glass
It's only like 2 hours long; which is also the reason I don't understand the appreciation OP is giving when it isn't even that long.
>t. I didnt explore or do side missions, just speedran a walkthrough
Ignore this. That's just a straight up lie. Even if you bumrushed the entire main story you wouldn't come close to a playtime that short.
I think it's just a relatively niche game that somehow got a big budget and wider appeal, but for most people it missed the mark entirely. It had the same problem as Dishonored in some aspects.
>both games come out
>people are commenting on how streamers are finishing them so fast
>turns out they're just rushing from marker to marker and ignoring the excellent level exploration
ReCore is just so perfectly generic, though. Nothing wrong with it otherwise.
I didn't even play the game.
It was a hyperbole, but I should have known you Reddit brainlets have made up a majority of the population here.
So it's gud? I'm disappointed they didn't at all capitalize on Mooncrash considering it's the kind of setup where you can add more characters and hooks.
Since resources can run out you can possible end up with almost no ammo if you use too much of it or you fuck around and explore too much or back track to do side quests in an area rather than getting them all done at once. That being said, by the end of the game even though I was beginning to run low on ammo, I still absolutely had enough. Also I imagine people who pick typhon powers have less problems with this than people who pick full human, since you can give yourself unlimited PSI.
My first run was without powers and I found the game pretty hard on normal difficulty, will I be OP with powers?
Yeah. If you do NG+, it will carry over all your scans (if you have them) and give you the psychoscope early, so you can go absolutely nuts with Typhon powers real quick.
those people are just fucking terrible at games, you get the ability to create your own ammo fairly early on and it isn't tied to any progression path, everyone has this ability
not to mention that the wrench is OP as hell, combine with the reflex mod(a power which slows down time to a crawl except for you) you basically become a god and that is just a little under halfway through
Immersive sims are too high iq.
By that I mean >90, but that's enough to harm sales.
That's great, dunno why I was never in the mood for another playthrough, today's the day I guess!
Based and humanity pilled.
Did the same on my first playthrough because the technology/stealth/shotgun were all I was interested in, but psi powers are indeed OP.
imagine getting so hyped for a bethesdashit trailer that you ignore a game thats actually good because it has the same name as the non-existant sequel to that mediocre game from 2004 where you cant die that you pretend to like because you remember the intro scene with the playable jukebox
most people are idiots
having multiple ways to solve a problem and not being told what to do is kryptonite for the normie gamer. thinking is pain for these people
arx fatalis is more of an immersive sim than prey could ever hope to be
both dishonoreds are shit
play ss1 you dumb retard faggot
Bought it on Christmas sale with the moon dlc, yet to play it. Currently going through long backlog, after I finish hat in time death wish and after the double blood point event this weekend in dead by daylight I'll finally play it
Prey 2 was going to be your typical generic open world last gen shooter oriented around ironsights, cover and regenerating health with some gimmicks on top.
twitter.com
It also had practically no ties to the original game outside of a cameo of Tommy, who was put in there entirely at Bethesda's behest. Human Head had hardly any creative input with the first game in the first place, 3DRealms came up with the premise, gimmicks and all the stuff people praise before they handed it off to them.
Whatever dumbass thought attaching the name of a project Bethesda killed to the game was a good idea should be shot.
the fuck are you babbling about?
they dropped the ball in the second section when there is supposedly a crew of evil humans working against you.
There should have been actual crew members working against you. There should have been more varieites of robot enemies deployed against you at that point onward.
I really enjoyed the DLC , its a hit or miss since the gameplay is the same but the "metagame" is different but i loved the idea.
>I didnt play the game
>has shit opinion
Checks out
I like the guys soundtrack in this better than his soundtrack for DOOM, I don't think it gets enough appreciation.
Ah. To witness a company in its death throes. They didn't deserve this.
Multiple save slots/manual saving was a mistake. As is having a true-death. It's not a very immersive simulation if you can (or in this case have to) keep saving and then loading when you die.
LGS fixed this shit back in 1992 with the silver seed in UW and the Restoration Bays in SS.
>Add Nightmare to challenge the player
>LOL just cheese it via level transitions,elevators,vents/any small place
What did they mean by this?
Why doesn't any big company hire them to work on a popular IP like Aliens or Predator? That would fix the popularity problems.
Have to give the player multiple options to deal with the nightmares, so that there are ways to do it no matter what style their playthrough. Unfortunately it's easier and better on ammo to go hide in a vent and leave the game running while you do something else until it goes away than try and deal with them.
Did you play Death of the Outsider? Pick the OG void abilities and it's basically Thief with teleport. Much more Thief-like than 1 or 2.
>gimmicks
Nigga, you best not be talking down on Prey.
I'm not, "gimmick" isn't necessarily a disparaging term you know
i killed that thing with the wrench like 3 times
hardest difficulty
>immersive sim
>press 'E' to interact instead of "Right Click"
get this shit knock off out of my board
Your fault for rebinding it since E is lean right by default :~)
>entire game is just a dream
kys for defending this turd
Just started playing this yesterday. Played a good 3 hours and very much like it so far.
>it's all just a dream
kys for being a legitimate brainlet
>Prey is probably the most underrated game of this generation
what a fucking halfwit
Basically Bioshock in Space.
Do you think SS2 is better? I’m going to start an SS2 file for the first time soon.
>3D Metroid Fusion
>No one cared
You cannot comprehend my sadness.
>SS2 exists
>Prime exists
???
overrated you mean, it's basically a worse SS2 without good enemy designs or writing
Soulless as fuck
titanfall got fucked in the ass it was nowhere near as popular as other fps's
opening sequence was kino
SO SO FAR THE SAILING SHIP
arkane is one of the only western AAAs with soul you fag
>Can only fight typhons n robots
yeah those black blobs and a 2deep4u plot with some mild psychological literary influences thrown in sure are soulful
this game was literally just made because the other studio stopped making bioshock and they repurposed the PREY ip to make a quick buck of persistent demand on the part of consumers
>devs talk about being inspired by bioshock and system shock
>wtf why is it like those games??
Congratulations, you played yourself
anyone who's not a retard knows better to not even consider it related to the original Prey
its only caleld Prey because Bethesda wanted to hold the ip without actually doing anything with it
>that beeping in the background that gets progressively louder
i hope that was just a recording error and not something ingame
>its only caleld Prey because Bethesda wanted to hold the ip without actually doing anything with it
yeah haha brand recognition has nothing to do with it
>Prey 2 was going to be your typical generic open world last gen shooter oriented around ironsights, cover and regenerating health with some gimmicks on top.
you have no fucking idea what you're talking about prey 2 looked way more interesting and unique than the game we ended up getting
either way it has nothing to do with the other Prey and wasn't ever meant to
so stop acting as if it should have been
>than the game we ended up getting
they have nothing to do with each other
yeah brand confusion is a bitch and can lead to the downfall of any product, but the games been out for 2 years already, we already know what it is. so stop acting like a pants on head retard
it should have been, you dont just reboot a franchise and then turn it into something completely different, same thing counted for DmC
It was a great doom 3 engine game released in 2005 for the xbox 360
Arkane wasn't intending it to be a reboot
the game deserves to stand on its own merits
and on its own i mean what it actually is, not you trying to nitpick because it has nothing to do with the game you imagined it should be
then they shouldve given it a proper name obviously, prey doesnt even really synergize well with the narrative
It was pretty boring famalam.
not their fault
arkane hires some really good concept designers, I have the art of dishonored 2 book and that shit makes me want to start drawing fictitious banners, posters and slogans for a dystopian civilization.
sure, zenimax's fault
in comparison to your lavish, luxury, bohemian lifestyle?
youtube.com
>tfw when a typhon actually appears soon after
I really liked it and Mooncrash was great too. Hopefully Arkane can make another one.
lol? I had way too much of everything by the midway point.
I'm having fun with it.
On my first run and I'm doing a human only run. Shame cause the typhon mods seem cool.
I've gotten up to where I've gotten into the crew quarters, and I've just been doing sidequests.
There is just so much shit to do.
Shotgun / Q Beam master race
I blew a hole through the glass with my shotgun when that happened.
grow up
It was boring as fuck, only picked up after a few hours
Not wrong
BioShock in space if BioShock wasnt for brainlets
BioShock in space but good
So dumbed down System Shock?
I completed in once after launch but now every time I try and replay it I lose interest after an hour or so. Not sure if it's the lack of useful weapons or enemy variety.
Besides that it's a great game.
>Basically Bioshock in Space.
If bio means water, then would this game be called Spaceshock?
Seem much better name than to steal the first prey name.
Some things are easier (no stats like Psi, Endurance, etc), while others are harder (4 different currencies to purchase equipment). Also weapon degradation is almost a non-issue. I'm pretty pissed that Psi is mostly variations of damaging spells. SS2 did psi right.
