Champions Online genuinely had one of the most fun and open-ended character creators of any MMO I've ever seen. Everything is 100% cosmetic, so you can make whatever the hell you want and the options were incredible. I miss playing it.

SL has a main world which is all connected sims, It's fucking horrible and shitty but it's no different than FF14 with all it's loading screens inbetween zones.

BDO has ERP guilds, so that might scratch your itch, but I hope you like pvp and rng based gear.

Nothing else has any level of real customization. Just preset faces and preset bodies that you can slap some preset clothing on. If were talking singleplayer games then you got things like all the elder scrolls with mods and things like saints row with the sliders.

The fact is, if you can't fuck with your shit, you can only do sameface because there is a limit to what you can do. FFXIV is a shining example of how much sameface exists and every attempt to stand out is eye coloring and hair dyes. The only other MMOs that gives you freedom are all fucking old as fuck and gone. Starwars Galaxies would be up there otherwise as one of the earlier MMOs with great character customization.

pso2 honestly, it's literally the best game on the market for making a character and dressing them up. The game has very wide range sliders that let you literally create abominations if you want to, anything from skeleton to fucking HUGE fat tier characters can be made, add this to the fact the game has literal hundreds if not thousands of accessories and outfits and it blows everything else away. Games like BDO ect may look fucking beautiful and give you a ton of little body portion sliders you can tweak but they are all extremely limited in just how much of a change can be done.

Too bad it's not all that good of a game.
