what game should i play first ? i just finished playing persona 4 is danganronpa similar ?
the only reason im asking is because some characters are really hot
what game should i play first ? i just finished playing persona 4 is danganronpa similar ?
the only reason im asking is because some characters are really hot
>Is Danganronpa worth playing?
Yes
>What game should I play first?
1. It's the worst of the three main games but you need to play it for context.
>I just finished playing persona 4, is Danganronpa similar?
Not really
Play the first one (Trigger Happy Havoc), and get the FUCK out of this thread before someone spoils something.
If you liked that one, then play the second.
GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS THREAD OP
You tell me which ones you think are hot and I'll tell you whether you deserve to play or not.
This, go and play the first one
Play 1, 2, and V3 in that order. Leave Yea Forums immediately before you get spoiled.
JUNKO IS THE MASTERMIND
JUNKO IS THE MASTERMIND
THE COSPLAYER IS THE MASTERMIND
>having any attraction to the terrible characters of danganshitter
Just play in release order. You can skip UDG and go to V3 if you'd like unless you plan on watching the DGR3 anime.
Also I hope you mean that the boys are hot OP
>what game should i play first ?
The first one
DR1: Trigger Happy Havoc -> DR2: Goodbye Despair -> Another Episode: Ultra Despair GIrls -> DRV3: Killing Harmony
>i just finished playing persona 4 is danganronpa similar ?
It's even more visual novel, the gameplay is mostly limited to Investigation and Trial segments at the end of each chapter. They also both have "free time" segments where you can do the equivalent of Social Links with the characters.
It's a lot shorter than the Persona games but still pretty fun and stylish. Stop reading the thread now before you get spoiled.
based
>skipping UDG
what the fuck
alright thanks! im going to leave the thread now
yeah mostly them
i dunno who the fuck that guy is
is this the continuation of the mahiru thread
Not if you're some ERP faggot
>You can skip UDG
Please kys
No you get back here and you reveal your taste to us.
i was asking because i was part of the discussion of the murder case in that thread
you degenerate
alright faggot calm down
No reason to feel sad when a character dies because its all a simulation and none of it matters.
Except for Chiaki who wasn't real anyway.
...
im going to stay in the thread since every character apparently has a japanese name and im going to forget who dies like 2 minutes after i see the spoiler
Absolutely based
B+, you may partake. Also don't skip UDG like that other faggot says.
>every character apparently has a japanese name
user, are you retarded
A lot of people can't deal with it being a third person shooter even though Monaca is the smartest villain in the franchise and the various subject matters being far more realistically dark compared to a good chunk of the franchise.
prepare to hear the name Mukuro Ikusaba repeated a ton of times
oh it's dark it must be good
I'm trying to play Danganronpa not Dark Souls
ok retard
oh shut up
you're like the people that said Revenge of the Sith was good because it's dark, fuck you bad opinion having motherfucker
Stop posting this fucking furry shit you stupid nigger.
Contain your autism to /bant/ and stop posting about how "science is fake" and "only math is real"
Mukuro Ikusaba, the 16th student hidden somewhere in this school. The one they call the "ultimate despair." Watch out for her.
I love my gorgeous wife!
Release order
I'm going to be a 90 year old grandpa with Alzheimers and my only memory will be this stupid fucking line
Not him. UDG is great because the characters are fun and actually have a pretty decent development. All Danganronpa games have an edgy vibe, I don't know why would UDG in particular bother you
it doesn't, I've never played. I just disliked the implication that because it's dark that inherently must be a perk
>I've never played
Okay, retard, should have said it sooner
I did say it sooner you idiot fucks sakes, like talking to a wall, this guy
Arguing already, at this rate we will have another murder case to solve!
especially since that will be more interesting than bitching over someone being a complete bonehead
It's not "good because it's dark," it's legitimately the best written entry in the series despite still having its fair share of Kodaka's dumb hack bullshit. The "dark" stuff is good because it's delivered very effectively, it has some of the most legitimately uncomfortable to watch scenes I've ever experienced in a game.
Really, only one (important) character (probably) actually dies out of the whole cast and you don't even see their body.
Will they reboot Danganronpa to be more like Distrust?
That would require a lot more effort than a linear visual novel, so absolutely not.
i thought this was a fake spoiler the first time i played the game because of what happens to her. i thought Yea Forums was memeing because of how little screen time she had or some shit.
Does anyone want to buy me Danganronpa? I have no money and its on sale.
get a job ya bum
I thought Nagito was the mastermind in DR2 since I'd seen all the HOPE memes so I lost my shit when he snapped in the middle of the first fucking Trial, boy did that ride deliver
Just pirate it, user. You can always cough up money when you actually do, that's what i did
Please, Mr. Monokuma! Please gimme a murder case!
no ya fucking bum.
the bills don't pay themselves, this body is high maintenance you know?
Oy Monokuma, you better have a motive ready to deliver. You can't have a fun murder case without a juicy motive to get the culprit going!
Him being the mastermind would have been kind of shit. He's a blatant fujobait with all the shit he does but the biggest twist is how he turns completely the table around even in death.
I need to get a patreon.
Hold your horses, you might be as excited as i am but we're still lacking a motive don't worry, i have something perfect to motivate you all!
Lame.
Imagine being an Ultimate student, where you're only good at a single thing and you're so shit at socialising and communicating that locking you up with a bunch of your kind will surely lead to murder.
especially if you get locked with a fucking gang/mafia leader or what (you thought) is hitler 2.0
Or a literal Assassin.
or a deranged murderer.
So what do you guys think we're getting next year for the 10th anniversary of this series?
Or a professional soldier.
Danganronpa 1 VR.
We can only hope
how is someone supposed to last
Wear red for luck.
how much red before you guarantee survivor.
cause
op here i will be back for 5 minutes so i dont get spoiled, is it worth buying this bundle ? is the second game good ?
Reminder that he's significantly more alive than Leon or Kaede.
On what platform?
Best girl
ye
>1 is the worst
Horrible taste. 1 is great. 3 is rough, regardless of what you think of the ending
Yes
He's as fictional as that first character so he's not alive either.
even if you were, it can't feel good to be dropped into a giant volcano shaped fryer
What would even be the point
Well I like every single case in V3 more than every single case in 1. I think 1 is a big boring slog with a cast of unlikable characters but that's just me
Fucking nothing, as it should be.
>think 1 is a big boring slog with a cast of unlikable characters but that's just me
Honestly, that's how I feel about V3
>I think 1 is a big boring slog with a cast of unlikable characters but that's just me
This is literally V3.
V3's characters were very likeable though, the only one that wasn't was Tsumugi.
It helps if you're female.
None of them were likable
And himiko. And gonta. And kaede. And kaito.
V3 has persona 5 syndrome. Everyone repeats the same shit a million times making the game much longer than it needs to be. Chapter 2 was painful with himiko squeaking for an hour about how it was magic
all of them were likable, especially Tsumugi
What was wrong with Kaede?
you will probably either love or hate, or love while hating
How does the third case manage to suck every single time?
She was a fat retarded blonde Sayaka
muh double murder
it only sucked in the first one
I like all characters from Danganronpa 1, 2, and V3. Suck it nerds.
Tsumugi is as likable as dried up paint
So a fat blonde Sayaka
I like her more than Junko at this point
>TDP universe
>Korekiyo manages to kill the students' sisters
Who comes for his head?
that only proves how horribly unlikable junko was made post DR1
Sayaka wasn't even half as retarded as Kaede.
Why not?
no it doesn't. Peak Junko is in DR2 and Tsumugi's better in V3
>Amami's shirt
is that Mitarai's hope anime?
Garbage taste but that's to be expected of a Tsumugifag.
Makoto, Hifumi, Fuyuhiko, Rantaro and whoever else has sisters.
If he kills Komaru then Toko/Syo joins Makoto in killing him. If he kills Natsumi, Peko joins Fuyuhiko in killing him.
It's not like I don't have opinions on the characters, I have favourites and least favourites when it comes to characters and cases. But I've genuinely enjoyed each character in the series in one context or another. It'd be pointless to defend characters I like from either legitimate criticism or subjective opinion, and that's what most of this thread is.
being retroactively ruined by DR3 lowers the peak though
>What order should I play them in?
Play them in release order, you turbofag. I cannot comprehend why anyone would EVER feel the need to ask this question about any series with an overarching storyline.
460770297
>that bait
No, because DR3 is FICTION
Not him but anyone is smarter than ms. roll a shotput hoping it somehow hits the mastermind
I wasn't even factoring in DR3
it doesn't really matter to me if we factor it in. If anything it hurts DR1 even more because the two characters most ruined by DR3 are Junko and Mukuro, so now 1-5 and 1-6 are just dumb bullshit now
Mukuro was always shit though
My wife is so cute when she's drunk.
Jesus DR1 can't catch a break, why are you idiots defending it again?
If you like Phoenix Wright, you will like Danganronpa.
>muh Yea Forums hyperbole
How was she shit?
Retard.
Play the game. Read DR0. You get enough to know that she's shit. DR3 didn't ruin anything concerning her.
Which one is yours?
the one curled up in a ball at the bottom right
>Retard
Not an argument.
Class 79?
>dude mikan just like WENT INTO DESPAIR LMAOOO
fuck you
The cutest and best one.
Tulpaman's wild ride was fun at least even if it was painfully obvious it was him from the get go
that was an improvement to Mikan as a character
Not a thing I'm afraid. In the fictional DRV3 universe they were all in different classes in the new Hope's Peak Makoto was in charge of. In Talent Development Plan mode, Class 77, 78, and the V3 cast are all in the same year. There's never been a possibility for the V3 cast to be the 79th class of Hope's Peak.
After waiting so long, it'd better be one hell of a motive!
Mikan as a character felt almost unfinished. Like they didn't know what to do with her so they just had her catch the murder disease.
Yes its a fantastic series. It will take a long time though each game is pretty long.
They MUST be played in order because every sequel will spoil the one before it. Ignore the spin off game "Ultra Dispair Girls" it fucking sucks. Also please avoid the anime at all costs. And remember, the last game is the best but you NEED to play the other two before you get to it.
Ultra Despair girl is good if you want something different to play, Anime is an amazing shitshow and Danganronpa 2 despair's side is comfy for the first few episodes
His death and trial is the absolute peak of the series, even if I think 2 overall kinda sucks.
She just repeated how we should all be friends and nothing bad will ever happen. Maybe in the in game world it makes sense. But fans playing the third game in this series knows by now there will be a prologue, 6 chapters, and an epilogue. So when the first 8-10 hours is the main character saying how everyone will be friends forever and no one will possibly die, its really grating
You guys suck V3 is literally the best especially this boy
I was almost unsure if you wanted to listen to it at all...
but nevermind! this one goes with inspiration from the outside world!
see those bracelets on you? they will stay on your wrist until you wither and die or will they?
I personally opened a escape route within the deep forest surrounding the camp, should any of you try escaping, the others wrist bracalet will begin beeping and should they get out...let's say everyone sans the sneaky sap will go boom.
so now, happy camping!
I tried making it just as foreboding and distrustful as V3 first motive, hope it worked
A reminder that this donut girl outsmarted almost everyone in a class trial, including the guy who wouldn't stop bragging about how smart he was.
Reminder that the guy who bragged about how smart he was, and was a huge fan of syo, didn't even notice all the people they killed were boys.
i'd give monaka a bone
We need more Monaca porn.
THINKING TIME
V3 soundtrack was easily the best outta all of the games
On that count Togami didn't give a flip that the victim was apparently a girl, he had created several other contradictions between the scene and a Genocide Jack killing, the whole thing was a test to see how smart Makoto (Who had solved the previous case) was. This kind of shit was vital because Togami planned to win the game by executing a perfect murder and needed to know who the best detectives were so he could wait until they were eliminated, or kill them himself.
they'll never remake or adapt the games that had ooyama nobuyo without her
Holy shit that's a cute Kirumi.
Why? They have a perfectly good new Monokuma voice.
All Kirumis are cute Kirumis, user. Why, I myself have a folder of nearly 200 cute Kirumis.
sure but using her in new stories is different than if they used her as a replacement in old ones.
mind sharing more with us?
>Danganronpa modding exists, and it's possible to edit nonstop debates
>Still not enough editing possible to be able to make a new DR game or even a remix
Such despair...
Sure, have a favourite of mine.
user that image hurts.
Dunno why that could be. Maybe you should see a doctor.
>Only 200
My friend, you've been out of the game too long.
well it is quite well done, but case 3.2 really made kirumi look dumb
Why?
"Gameplay" and story is usually shit.
Characters, music and atmosphere is amazing
because that's not the case and the dangans deserved to be happy
whats that jap website where you can find bunch of art
pixiv?
I suppose I have been gone a while. But it's all fine as long as I continue to gather new Kirumis wherever I find them.
I actually like Kirumi's actions in 3-2. Her character is this great mix of selflessness and selfishness, and there are a lot of points where you can draw multiple interpretations of what happened. Did Ryoma really sacrifice himself, or was that simply a lie, or what Kirumi wanted to think to ease her conscience? His motive video is evidence for him sacrificing himself, but the handcuffs and scratches on the sink are arguments for the reverse.
It's an interesting motive, it would definitely make everyone more suspicious of each other. You'd need a sequence of pre-murder events to make it fully turn into a case but I can see a good case forming from it.
Full marks! You've made a very despairful killing game motive, you truly are Monokuma!
Well the issue is that Kirumi was so extremely sloppy in her plan that it almost seems OOC, especially since her murder was almost completely untraceable otherwise, also drowning ryoma was unnecessarily cruel
>but the handcuffs and scratches on the sink are arguments for the reverse.
Actually that's just the body's natural reaction to fucking drowning. In all actuality he definitely was prepared to die, but not in agony like that.
yes, thanks
I understand the feeling, the only reason I have so many is due to diving through obscure Twitter artist's media pages, and there's still some I didn't save anyway. It's good to see you back though, I was wondering what happened to you.
There isn't really multiple interpretations but I always liked the version of ryoma fighting back because not only that well, would add something interesting for kirumi as a character since she would be lying about him giving up fpr real and it would make ryoma's short development arc even more valid as he is one of my faves. But too bad Kodaka didn't think of that and nothing of that really happened.
My counterargument to that is Kirumi was committing murder for the first time, so naturally she was a bit shaky. The only sloppy thing she did was leave the evidence in the pool, which was just the result of momentary clumsiness due to the stress of the situation. I think the fact that she managed to execute such a convoluted plan almost perfectly by herself is a testament to her skill.
Ah I see, I'm no biologist so I'll take you at your word.
Interesting. I personally just save art from whenever I come across it in DR threads. Also I'm sorry, but wondering what happened to me must mean you think I'm someone specific that you knew previously?
I personally like Ryoma as much as Kirumi, he was a fun character. Characters getting too little development is unfortunately a common problem in DR.
Kirumi's plan would've been flawless if she just left Ryoma in the sink. Everyone knew he was suicidal, and if they ended up seeing his video there'd be no doubt it was a suicide.
Infact this is related to a common problem in DR: so many killers are caught by trying to make themselves an alibi when no one really had one or by fucking up in framing another character
Oh, sorry, I must have you mistaken for someone else then. It's just you remind me of another Kirumifag with similar filenames to yours who disappeared a while ago, so I thought you must be him returning, since there're so few of us.
>The only sloppy thing she did was leave the evidence in the pool
I very much disagree Kirumi left a ton of leads that wouldn't have been that hard to fix, like leaving the cable in ryoma's room undone, or remaining silent rather than bring out of the blue the fact that she was in the gym, also holding onto the rope from the start. which likely would have been a bit easier to do even on a shaky mind
Actually I don't think that'd work. I think they'd argue it was unlikely that he committed suicide by drowning, and if she beat him to death with whatever she used to knock him out that'd be impossible in addition to adding evidence. She also didn't know if the Monokuma file was going to mention his cause of death, and if it hadn't mentioned it they would all have believed he was eaten alive by the Pirhanas, and thus Himiko was the culprit.
It is true I've not been around DR threads for some considerable time, so I might be the person you're thinking of. I was just wondering how you could recognise a person seeing as this is an anonymous imageboard. I also feel guilty when it comes to DR threads for various reasons
Heh, seems i still got it after so many seasons.
I'm sure once we know more of the students the case will write itself.
Thanks a lot, a camp setting that was made on the fly required a similarly on the fly thinking for the motive, glad you liked it
I don't think so. Remember that Ryoma talked with Shuichi before when Gonta was crazy and admited that he wanted to live.
But Ryoma WAS drowned- it'd be relatively easy to fake a mechanism that would look like Ryoma killed himself with considering all the handcuffs in there
That was before he saw his motive video
But that took place before Night Time, and Ryoma didn't watch his motive video until after Night Time began.
Sure he was drowned, but would you really commit suicide by drowning? I think they'd view it as suspicious. If you wanna make it look like someone committed suicide, hanging or poison is the way to go. Maybe even slit wrists but not drowning.
I know but even then, no one would guess right after (since only him knew about his video), shuichi would not think about suicide right away. Also I believe Kaito wouldn't accept easily that he just commited suicide either as he was disappointed/in denial and having a hard time to accept ryoma already as his childhood idol was now depressed
suicide by drowning's not that rare, either. It's still a more plausible explanation that what Kirumi was planning with Himiko being the culprit
yo I fucking hate v3, why does everyone like the cast again
Why do you hate it?
Maki saw his video when he asked for it later, didn't he? (on that note, Kokichi had Maki's video, right?)
I don't like the cast, too much trial derailing
I don't either. Practically every character feels either unlikable, boring, or wasted potential.
...Suicide with handcuffs and a crack in the cranium? You need to fantasize a lot to make it look like it was suicide
V3 better balances the trials IMO, its not just MC/GF/Rival as the only relevant characters
Well I only like two characters, so there's that
Well, that's because in V3-2 Kirumi WASN'T making it look like a suicide. My argument is that making it look like a suicide was a better idea than trying to frame Himiko with the ropeway
>wasted potential
so like every cast
In this case she would just need to only sink him and nothing more, yeah. Honestly I wonder if Kodaka even cared because her plan being dumb as hell fucks up with her characterization, she's portrayed as a intelligent and flawless maid and yet can't plan something important for shit. Not that her writing is any good to begin with anyways. You could say that the game needs the case to be solvable but in this case then her plan should have been hard to solve.
>1 is the worst
fuck off
Well, the problem with simple murders in games like Danganronpa is that... they really aren't that fun to unravel. Danganronpa thrives on complex cases with Rube Goldberg like murder plots and even the simplest cases like 1-1 and 2-2 have pounds of bullshit to be sorted out during trials. Crazy murder plots are a necessity for the game's gameplay loop to work.
1 was literally the only game that put effort into making like feeling it was happening a killing game.
Same problem with Celeste, supposedly the Ultimate Gambler and "Queen of Lies" but she makes fucking idiotic assumptions and arugments in every Trial, pointlessly breaks character in front of the whole group and the plan she comes up with involves an absurd amount of unnecessary risk and again requires drawing a huge amount of attention to herself which is what fucks her over.
Yes and that isn't something good. But at least Celeste had the excuse of trying to live up a persona she created instead of really being that person.
1-1 is practically the least bullshitty case because of the code, the bullshit is just so you can't just straight up point it out
Also in V3 all the murder plans are justified by the fact that they would've been programmed to think that's the proper way to go about murder, because that's what's entertaining for an audience to watch.
That's why I hate the ending. It's excuse for shit writting. If Kodaka isn't a shit writer then Tsumugi is.
You can have crazy murder plots that are still actually hard to solve like 2-4 and 2-5, and regular murder plots that are complicated by circumstance like 1-2.
I'd say it's harder to fault her when she's the equivalent of a teenager writing fanfiction...
well shit that just explains a lot
Danganronpa always makes it obvious who the killer and victim will be before the murder, but the actual solving of how they did it isn't fun. Same with Phoenix Wright.
Korekiyo posters are so fucking based
>regular murder plots that are complicated by circumstance like 1-2
This was still case of someone doing something incredibly stupid that led to them, it just was Byakuya instead of Mondo. Mondo didn't plan his murder at all, that's why it took a slipup during trial to catch him
>the actual solving of how they did it isn't fun
I disagree on this point, though
It's really not Danganronpa without convoluted murder plans user. Is it really bad writing if that writing is the buildig block of the setting?
agreed
1: Students stuck in school. Don't know why. Everything boarded up. Only way to get out? Kill someone.
2: le magical island (Monomi was great with a good musical theme but lots of weird shit)
3: Dumb fucking reality tv shit le lies
I'll give 2 credit that it at least felt like a unique setting for this kind of premise. 3 kind of felt like it was trying to be a bunch of different things at once.
That's a total fucking lie. v3 went hard with the killing game paranoia and betrayal of trust, and you didn't learn about the truth behind everything until the very end
You can have your opinions about what games are better or whatever, but don't act like the desperation to escape the campus didn't exist
>You will never be part of Kokichi's gang, pranking the entire city with harmless, silly pranks.
Feels bad bros
I have a feeling Kokichi himself is much more sadistic than he lets on
Oh, just like Kaede put everyone to work together in the first chapter and after that no one gave a fuck and you had magical shows, special scenes with either having fun at casino or relaxing at spa and it only gets more ridiculous with the chapters after. 1 had its stupid shit as well but I can tell it wasnt as this much stupid and so very often. v3 only got back on rails in chapter 5.
Well, 1 was the only one that was a genuine killing game. Everything in 2 was orchestrated by Monokuma on levels that would normally be impossible, he created motives targeted to specific killers and victims in mind and resorted to outright mind control and "kill or die" desperation to force the killings to continue, and in ways that deliberately paralleled the first game specifically to fuck with Future Foundation even more and bait them in when the time came. And V3 was almost literally scripted.
the main problem was VR world
if it was ACTUALLY on an island it'd be kinda cool
3 started off promising with kayayday, but the (repeated) VR world was boring. And the end? With the corridors and robots... that was confusing.
How he lets on is that he's the mastermind and is responsible for everybody's death's, user
he is objectively less sadistic that he portrays himself as but probably more sadistic than what his fangirls portray him as
ONE
Just the fact of Kaede needing to be the one to get everyone together instead of most people trying to help on their own like it was with 1 is already bad.
G e n t l e
TWO
That's fair. I guess it's about perspective. I think v3 tried to combine the atmosphere if 1 with some of the wackiness of 2. But I felt very strongly that despite this, the students were clear after each other's throats since Kaede was the only one who actually managed to get anyone to cooperate
Its annoying to be sitting there the whole time, knowing who did it, and most of the details of how while feeling like you're in a room full of mouth breathing retards who you have to help piece together their puzzle they got in their McDonalds happy meal.
shut the fuck up DEMON
Also don't forget how some characters had their gimmicks prioritized over the situation while in 1 even hifumi and hagakure showed some worry.
HE IS ALL THAT REMAINS OF A ONCE POWERFUL NATION
What cases make you feel like this, user? It can't be all of them?
>Monoca will never molest you
It hurts bros
SHOWTIME
Was he /ourboy/?
I felt that way for every case from DR 1 to 2. I didn't play v3 because I knew I it wouldn't be any different.
RIGHT NOW
that's "earlier", not "sooner", ESL bastard. leave.
YOU'RE ON THE THRESHOLD OF AN AMAZING ADVENTURE
You had the whole thing figured out in 1-5, 2-4 and 2-5 before the Trial started?
SHOWTIME
And 1-2, for that matter?
Yeah. 2-4 was so fucking obvious I dropped the game right there and a friend had to encourage me to keep playing.
The game spotlights Nekomaru super hard, forcing you to hang out with him while continuously bringing up his power down button. Then it starts to put focus on Gundham, and when they're casually going to press a button the game forces him to go out of his way to make his hamsters do it. It couldn't be more obvious who was going to be the killer and who would be the victim.
>Yeah. 2-4 was so fucking obvious I dropped the game right there and a friend had to encourage me to keep playing.
If you stopped and said the victim would be obvious, I wouldn't mind. But you're talking out of your ass if you think we interacted with gundham enough in that chapter to suspect him at all.
Nekomaru getting killed is obvious but Gundham being the killer is significantly less so, it only immediately points to him if you remember the type of room everyone was in, which most people don't do at first
DR1 especially has problems with not giving you all the information until halfway through the Trial.
2-4 and 2-5 slip you decisive clues on the killer that the narration glosses over during their investigation, but I find it hard to believe anyone would solve every single case in the series ahead of time down to "most of the details" unless they were taking note of EVERYTHING and metagaming hard.
only 1-2 and 1-5 are not solvable (at least the whodunnit) during the investigations
2-2 is the only really super blatant case in DR2, unless you metagame that there's no way you'd spend a chapter with only Mikan and Fuyuhiko and both would survive it
>the main problem was VR world
Why's that?
I'm really happy they let Fuyuhiko survive all the way through
I think he might be the only survivor across all three games I outright liked instead of being indifferent or kind of wishing they'd died.
Yeah me too, especially after Taka didn't get to live despite being in a similar situation last game
Top game series of all time. Enjoy starting it OP
he's one of the biggest outliers so far, usually DR loves cutting down on character development
1 is the best
2 is tumblr's favorite game
3 anime just shits on the series
AE can't decide what tone it's going for
V3 is okay
1 Anime is just a condensed version of the 1st game and pointless.
He's not the only example- Hina, Sonia, Hajime, Shuichi, Maki, and Himiko all lose the person they were closest to and develop in various degrees as a result
yeah but here's the thing, everyone except himiko loses their loved one extremely late into the game, chapter 5 is almost always a very important death character wise rather than some rando.
fuyuhiko loses peko in 2, extremely early which made him a huge target for the usual pattern in DR.
>Is Danganronpa worth playing?
Yes
>What game should I play first?
V3 is the best one but just start with 1
>I just finished playing persona 4, is Danganronpa similar?
No
Shuichi loses his closest person in chapter 1, though.
I guess he gets a pass for being the player character, but it's still something.
Yeah, also he goes through ridiculous amounts of suffering to keep his character developing so that's that too.
That's true. Maybe the problem was killing off Taka and Hiyoko mid-development for no good reason
yep, DR made it a pattern at this point.
did it happen in V3? Well I guess keebo with Miu but that was endgame
V3 was the pattern breaker, but then again V3 broke a shit ton of rules.
and even then they still kept most of the death pattern
2 spoils 1 and V3 spoils 1 and 2 so you should play them in order. internet spoils everything. they are not at all like Persona. have fun!
I'm very sure you didn't even guess the method of killing
SEESAW
>1 is worst
Dude, just end your life right now. You seriously enjoyed V3 more than 1? That's what retards do
Only V3 is a boring slog where every case is an hour too long at least
True. V3 and Persona 5 are equally disappointing. My 2 most anticipated games of 2017 both turned out mediocre
I can't imagine what other garbage you consume
I replayed case 1-4 today after having gone through the end of case 3-5 earlier and I have to say purely from a gameplay perspective 1 is clunky as fuck compared to the later games. The only saving grace were the rhythm sections, which had the whole target-fire-reloading mechanics instead of being just an actual rhythm game like V3's argument armaments.
As much as 2's versions of 1's minigames were generally worse the fact that the default Truth Bullet firing speed is like twice as fast more than makes up for it
I feel like my ideal DR game would have V3's lie mechanics, Scrum Debates, and Hangman's gambit, DR2's rebuttal showdowns and logic dives, and 1's rhythm sections.
No, that was Monokid.
Not really
Just watch the anime and save yourself the horrible ending
>Implying the anime is better than V3
Jesus fuck user.
go fuck yourself
i went into Danganronpa hoping it was like persona as well.
It's fucking not.
I'm still mad Yea Forums.
Wait, what the fuck? Are there more of these?
I'll post more cursed images like this if you don't tell me where you got that.
The problem with V3 is that the entire ending is just a rehash of DR2.
It's true that DR2's ending was a semi-meta "It was a video game all along!" twist, so they are kind of similar. You can see where the inspiration for V3's ending came from, but I don't think the two endings are exactly the same. The events of the game not being strictly "real" isn't really focused on in DR2, everything's about the choice of using the shutdown or not, meanwhile V3's ending is all about how fiction can change reality.
