Dragon Age 4 becomes BioWare's next big focus, as Anthem loses its lead creators

Anthem, believe it or not, is meant to have a 10 year life cycle of post-launch content. But, in light of the game's systemic problems, BioWare's lack of communication, and a dwindling player base, that ambitious post-launch schedule is looking less and less likely, especially in light of recent news about the game's shifting development team.

In recent weeks, three key members of Anthem's lead development team have departed from work on the project, including Executive Producer Mark Darrah, Lead Producer Michael Gamble, and Lead Director Jonathan Warner, with only the latter intending to return to the game following a personal sabbatical.

According to a recent tweet from Gamble, the reason for this behind the scenes reshuffle seems to be Dragon Age shaped, as BioWare places the majority of its focus on getting Dragon Age 4 our of the door, following several reported reboots of the RPG sequel.

If they get the goons who worked on the trespasser DLC for DA:I to actually lead the project or whatever then there's still some hope since that content was pretty good

tfw you can spend 6 years developing a flop and then just move on with your life as if nothing happened.

Yeah cause it still made great money... fuck AAA batteries and games

>following several reported reboots of the RPG sequel.
oh no no no

If Bioware were to fire everyone responsible for the failure they'd end up firing their entire leadership.

Must be nice. Of course, they won't learn from it because it still sold well enough too

So can we get refunds for the piece of shit yet? That's all I'm waiting for anymore. I've seen refunds issued for less.

No. You saw all the writing on the wall and have only yourself to blame

My 5 stages of grief over the death of Bioware:
>Denial - ME2
>Anger - Dragon Age 2
>Depression - ME3
>Bargaining - Inquisition
>Acceptance - Andromeda
I've noticed some people were behind me in this process (e.g. Anger during ME3), but surely by now there's no one left, right?
They haven't made a decent game in a DECADE, ffs.

Cruel... but true, I suppose. Bitter pill to swallow.

Just as long as they don't spend years of their development plan "finding the fun" and dicking around in pre-production.

> Dragon Age 4
I'm so hyped

Would you be more excited if the game included maid costumes, user?

>stupid enough to buy that piece of shit
You don't deserve a refund.

Wrist mounted guns sure are cool. What are some games with wrist mounted guns as an option?

Nu-bioware can't make attractive females, so no.

me too bro, nothing like watching Bioware hot off the heels of one failure race to finish their next one as fast as possible to shit it out the door

What if they subcontracted a Japanese studio for character models?

Both mass effect and dragon age series have been casual fun and so long as it retains even DAI quality I'll probably buy DA4 on sale down the line.

ME2 was a great game, better than ME1

The main story in ME2 was kinda dumb especially with the build up from ME1. It did have great side content though.

Then it may be worth a pirate

I disagree, I liked the story. Yeah yeah it doesn't have much to do with the Reapers. I don't care, the amount of Reapers in a story does not determine the story's value

Yea Forums is super contraian when it comes to mass effect

The only good Dragon Age game was Origins. DA2 was so bad that halfway through I just skipped every side quest and rushed to the end so it could be over and I vowed never to buy another BioWare game after that.
Even now, thinking about DA2 makes me bounce between rage and physical illness.

Heat sink clips are a stupid fucking gimmick. Why, just why did they do that?

I agree that ME2 is great, but that's why it's "denial."
It definitely was a clear sign of things to come, but I refused to acknowledge it at the time.

I played the first two hours then dropped it, at that point it was obvious that all of the talent had already left Bioware.

>Dragon Age 4, meanwhile, is reportedly another crack at a live-service game from BioWare, with online elements that would pivot the RPG series from its single-player roots
It's fucking dead

Well, they did have multiplayer in Inquisition, but it didn't really tie into the main game the same way ME3's multiplayer did. The only real "game as a service" thing they had was the real-time mission dispatch, which was stupid and pointless.

What's even worse is when you read what they were planning before a live service DA4. DA4 was going to be this super tight focused single player game set in Tevinter that focused on fucked up moral choices and replayability. Now we'll be lucky if we get something that's near the same quality as DA:I.

This fucking idiot

jesus EA is just going to keep fucking that chicken, "games as service" for them just means fucking early access, why would *anyone* pay full retail for broken shit treadmills

Why do you ask your questions like your sweating and low key freaking out? Like some hs girl hearing her hair got wet

Fuck Bioware

Imagine you spent 6 years at your job doing fucking nothing and your boss just moves you on to another project.

Big Evil EA has been pretty fucking nice to BioWare.

>imagine getting a paycheck for 6 years and then continue to get paychecks
i like the sound of that
