You may try to talk to people who don't feel like responding or are afk.
Avoid twitch, youtube, and the like and just play how you want.
If you want to experience it all, level everything, and do all the quests you can. If you want a little guidance though, you should look to complete all the F2P quests, get your att/def/str to 30s and then do dragon slayer as your last f2p quest. Then from there, assuming your member, start slayer.

Smithing is an outdated, broken irrelevant skill.

A good classic MMO. Have patience, maybe listen to podcasts while you play. It's also on phones now and works like a charm.

RS3 is pretty unfortunate.
Too many new people getting hired in higher positions than they should be, and either never actually playing RS, or only playing a little RS3. And not enough oldguard who can keep the old spirit and charm of RS. Which is why RS3 feels so odd, and its UI is pretty WoW-tier now with 3/4th of your screen filled with timers, hotbars, and cluttered UI boxes

Play Ironman.

RS3 is slowly getting rid of grind.
They hand out free XP and bonus XP by the fucking ocean-full.
Oldschool is a different story, BUT they have party-scaled raids, so you don't need regular high-stats.

I am autistic about the lore and I disagree. The entire Sliske arc was a kino way to close out the Mahjarrat lines and set up Xau-Tak as an interesting possible antagonist in the future.

The gods got btfo at the end of Sliske's Endgame, so his keikaku has hit a wall until we know what he plans to do now that Jas is awake.

I'm so mad about how little they seem to care about quests the past few years. I just want a continuation to Amascut's story so they can wrap up that Fifth Age line. I also want to see how they plan on dealing with the Elder Gods finally appearing.

What should I do next with these stats lads? Just about to hit 70 def. Have got 232 quest points only have MM2, DS2, Friends with Arm quests and a few more left.

get 4 more total levels then report back

you should also get your prayer up a bit so your fire cape runs will be easier.

I was aiming for the Q cape but Song of the Elves will slow me down a bit when it's out. I have never tried for the fire cape I used to play 10+ years ago but never fought Jad before.

With 75 range, a blowpipe and maybe a few ranged levels it's easy mode. Turn game sounds on, flick magic when you hear a noise, flick back to ranged after the attack hits.
Honestly the main challenge if the fight caves is not falling asleep before you get to Jad.

As much as a catastrophe as RS3 is, and despite how dramatically the G.E changed the community, I think people remember the Gower era just a little too fondly. They were more interested in what appealed to them rather than the community, and what would be the most fun to work on. For all its flaws I think OSRS is the best implementation of RuneScape.

Leaving your computer for any reason, for any length of time while still logged into the game used to be an offense. Of course no one actually followed it because it was completely fucking unreasonable and ridiculous. but there were a lot of instances where someone would be telling a story about something that happened in the game, off-handedly mention that they left their computer unattended for a few seconds for x/y/z reason, and would get banned for it.

to be desu part of the charm of oldscape's grafix is that you can immediately tell if what someone is wearing is utter crap or god-tier. With bronze through rune sharing the same models but with different coats of paint you can tell that shit's certainly not dragon nor barrows (or better) in an instant, whereas in 3scape it's such a mishmash blend of textures and shapes there's not really a definite "this is the best armor" sort of look.
